You should rant about how Karin is never going to wash away how her last appearance was in Capcom Fighting Jam.
The gem system kinda killed most of the hype for me too.
When they just hinted to it I was still pretty hyped because I didn’t expect anything like that at all. But now that we know most of the details…I don’t know, the fact that there are around 200 gems, how the system works, no mode with gems disabled (this is a bad thing even if it turned out to actually be a good system…why you don’t want me to play the characters without powerups?) and last but not least the DLC/exclusive content thing…it just looks bad to me, but I really hope I’ll be wrong in the end.
OMG, I had totally wiped that from my mind. What a shitty game.
My only rant is at the prospect that gameplay stuff (ie., gems that affect stats, systems, etc.) will be paid DLC. I don’t care if the extra cash and exclusive stuff is fluff like costumes, effects, accessories and so on but I don’t want to have to pay extra just to be on equal footing to anyone else.
I thought Karin was considered pretty solid in that game.
lol
their innovations usually come from game of other companies that did it first (and in many ocassions better)
My biggest complaint is how boring and unhype looking it is. I could never imagine watching that at EVO and the whole crowd explode over a match. But it’s still better then MK9
So are you saying you’d prefer Fatal Fury’s DM mechanic where you can use DM’s that take half-life over and over again with no meter over SFIV’s where there is a meter to limit that?
i preffer to use the DMs like SS where once you get it you have a window of time where you can use it [PLAIN]:)[/PLAIN]
plus that is why i said in many ocassion, wich implies that not always [PLAIN]:)[/PLAIN]
Alright, cool. I’m actually been thinking about using the SS/K-Groove “timed meter” mechanic for this fictional fighting game I’m coming up with.
Just to be sure, World Heroes had supers before everyone else, right?
Street Fighter V better be NOTHING along the lines of SFxT or even SF4. Bring back the “I beat you b/c im ACTUALLY BETTER THAN YOU” gameplay next time, Capcom. Features like Parrying & EX-cancels are the natural evolution of Street Fighter. This gem crap, buying your skills, & being rewarded for being a scrub will be the cause of the fighting genre’s 2nd extinction.
(my rant.)
im not sure, there is always the posibility that an older obscure game have the idea first
dunno man, some people find parry as an antithesis of what defines SF [plain]:O[/plain]
this is so wrong, it feels like capcom doesnt know shit about fighting games after that 10 years gap of FIRING everybody that made fighting games and sprite art for them thinking they’re dead. then putting Ono, YOSHINORI ONO, lead designer of capcom fighting jam. Arguably the worst fighter capcom has ever released (next to ssf4ae2012, and Umvc3fotw). In charge of 2 of their biggest fighting game projects ever
I just wish they’d stop pretending that this is meant for serious play and just say its a party game. Definitely skipping this like I skipped Marvel 3 $60 beta. And the excuse of “I only play it cause its the thing everyone else plays” is absolute Bull. As if you’re fighting top players on a daily basis, unless you’re living in Asia you’replaying Johnny Donuts constantly online and dont kid yourself.
Seriously, fuck Ono.
He put that pile of crap together known as Capcom Fighting Jam, and he gets praised for bringing fighting games back to Capcom WHEN HE KILLED IT IN THE FIRST PLACE. It’s a miracle SFIV was decent; I am certain somebody higher up in Capcom was looking over his shoulder warning him not to fill the game with crap. And now he’s been successful with SFIV, he’s been let loose.
At first this game looked decent, then he just shoves as many characters and systems into the game as possible. GG, I ain’t buying this shit. I’d much rather give the guys behind Skullgirls my money, they understand what makes a fighting game fun in 2011.
Lol that how I kinda feel at times. He seems like a great guy but also seems like he’s more towards pleasing a causal crowd even though he has respect for the competitive players. It just obvious.
What i dont like much about SFxT
-
The Happy Party Music On Some Stages.
-
When one characters is KO’ed on your Team you lose the match.
( I know its suppose to be like Tekken Tag, but still makes the matches bland to me. Also means there will be no sick Handicap Comebacks.)
- Some of the Tekken characters look…sorry to say Silly.
(* Not to be rude but if you paint Heihachi face he would almost resemble Krusty the Clown. Im sure he’ll be sick but he looks very humorous.*)
Bottom line, game looks VERY - very Party-ish. The Zoom in’s on every launcher, the the way some characters look. Some of the mechanics there putting in. I just dont know about this shit. I’ll still get it though to experience it.
He acts like a twelve year old, trolls and outright lies to the community, makes shitty design decisions, overdoes fanservice… Not my definition of a great guy.
Yea i understand, there are times where he seems very kiddish…hell he always very kiddish. I think he’s just having fun with his job. But yea his trolling is very immature from a business perspective.
WE MUST STOP HIM OR HE’LL DESTROY IT ALL.
Gems on Gems on motherfuckin’ Gems!!
EDIT:
In all seriousness, I wasn’t a huge fan of Poison being in SFxT, but I did wanted some new blood like Hugo and I was like, whatever, it would be disrespectful to put Hugo in a tag fighter, but no Poison. However, at the end of the day, those hentai dickchicks fappers ONLY wanted her in, because… well… she has tits (and a dick) and they want to fap to her shitty SFIV model.
On the other hand, you have people who ACTUALLY wrote down SFxT dream matches, hell… they were making them AS SOON AS THE GAME WAS ANNOUNCED like Elena/Christie (who I really wanted and heard they were leaked), Dee Jay/Eddie, E. Honda/Ganryu, Gouken/Jinpachi, Ken/Paul, etc. However, we won’t be getting the majority of those match-ups (or tag teams) and the MAIN FOUR CHARACTERS EVERYONE WANTED TO SEE (from creating artwork, even before SFxT was announced to sending them to Ono and reminding him about the dream match-up) in Street Fighter x Tekken probably won’t even be in the game together.
No Sakura? No Karin?
I ain’t no hardcore fan of those two and a total of four shotos (Ryu, Ken, Sakura, Akuma) in SFxT isn’t all that bad, but that’s extremely fucked up on Ono’s part for not including those two, while throwing in Asuka/Lili. I’m sorry, but I’m sure 95% of the community wanted Sakura/Karin over “Everyone only cares about what’s in my extremely short shorts, but not my playstyle” Poison.
Ono, you’re disappointing me, man… and the fanbase…
PS: Zangief/Rufus? Really? Really…? Now I’m personally offended with this duo.
Poison doesn’t have a fullsize character model in SFIV…
I highly doubt Sakura was that highly demanded. Karin possibly, but if people haven’t noticed already, the point of SFxT is to do something NEW.
The game is a Capcom experiment. How are people missing this? Have a little faith - get out there, at least try the game, THEN throw it in the bin.
Hell, rent the damn game, you don’t have to actually buy it first…
Sakura wasn’t highly demanded?
Yo, seriously?
You never saw the shit tons of “Sakura/Karin vs. Asuka/Lili” wishes?
I understand they’re trying to do something new, cool story, and I’m still going to get it, because I got what I want, which is Chun-Li, but if I hear Ono saying, “We are listening to the fanbase,” then I’m going to have to call bull-fucking-shit, because all I heard for SFxT is Poison, Sakura, Karin, Asuka, Lili, and R. Mika.
