I have more difficulty doing links in xT. Actually, I think it’s because I’m very aware of rollback possibility and paying extra attention to my hit confirm (you know, it can have a hit effect and then suddenly give a block effect right after).
I have one more thing to rant about online: When I was playing yesterday, a Vega jumped on me. I had a feeling that he’s going to empty jump throw, so I timed his landing and then pressed throw myself since I didn’t have confidence in jabbing him while he’s grounded. Right before he landed a sudden rollback occurred and his landing was freaking delayed! I whiffed my throw and he threw me anyways. My jaw dropped. Literally. Then I proceeded to lose 5 games in a row and turn my xbox off without hesitation.
Now that I think of it, I believe I simply timed my throw wrong. But I swear his landing was delayed!
Timing is slightly different in both games, well for me it is…I tend to drop more combos in AE, it’s like dropping a dirt-well FSE knew what I was about to say loool
i get hit by them “often” because boost and jump is all you do… i mean sooner or later in a rollback netcode you will hit my 5f jab with your mashed 3f and yes sooner or later you will land a few tick throws maybe an empty low… but in the end its called being a fraud.
when you are struggling to AA/block the most obvious jump ever only to eat a teleporting jump hk into a lazy ass boost combo or a tick throw, it makes it impossible to make the right read on an emptyjump/cross up empty jump/cross up hk - throw-boost 9/10 you will lose just trying to block/tech/jab and the other guy is just mashing.
and this is why we have so many b+ players who are so basic and bad … but still get wins
Chains are in the game deal with it. Online is not the mecca of measuring skill. Get over it. Nobody will play to satisfy your expectations. You can always use the kick the player option if u want games tailored made to your liking
Who cares if they care, dude. When they do ABCs they do less damage, so the have to hit you more often. That’s a fact, if you care about it or not doesn’t make a difference.
Yep. They do less damage. They’re unoptimized. They don’t break the game, etc. Objectively, there is no reason to demand they’re removed or anything like that.
But. I don’t like em. Never have. I think the game would be more fun and interesting without them.
If I designed it, some characters who’s specific character design called for it could do it. Others would always have to link to launch or a launch cancelable move.
I think they ARE optimized for those normals which you cannot cancel OR link from eg. Rufus far st.MK. Personally I like BCs, but I don’t want to see them outside of SFxT.
It’s a ranting thread anyways. I don’t see why ppl cannot rant about BCs.
Fight money is good, trolling is fun and pretty good as well. Boost chains are part of what makes SFxT an individual title. This is a VS game at the end of the day. Not a signature SF game. It is what is. Anyways, Ultra is a few months away. Maybe you will like the improved sf4 better and its chainless. Anyways, this is beating a dead horse at this point.
there’s a difference though. There are people who use chains and people who rely only on chains. Those are the people I hate and have no respect for when fighting them so I just end of trolling them.
Fighting games are not about combos, not about execution, not about flash, not about respect. They are about controlling space on a 2D or 3d plane. The method and style a person uses to achieve that goal is all on the player. No wonder you are hating divekick and going to their forums to shit on their game. and getting flagged in return.
How to spot someone who relies only on boost chains.
His/her character in reserve is low on health. He/she lands a boost chain with the character currently in play and realizes they should not tag in, so they just stop the boost combo at HP/HK. That always makes me chuckle a bit.
which is why a new user just marked my post as “off topic” on a ranting thread. Way to go smart one xD Also Dive Kick looked good when it was first revealed and now that it was released and with added stuff that wasn’t necessary made the game less appealing.
Off topic is a polite way of not flagging u as a troll. I am aware this thread is for ranting but ranting for the sake on hating on a mechanic instead of accepting it as part of a game gets old. I suggest you play divekick and understand the spacing aspect of fighting games. Its simple, yeah. But you can take something away from it and support a community based effort as a bonus.
