The Official Ranting Thread

I’d play with you, but I’m imposing a hiatus until I get a job ;-;

LOL this happens to me sometimes. I get thrown out of ex slaughter hook with kaz. Just today I was playing with my new favorite Christie and some guy threw me out of ex stinger wtf…:frowning:

I’m used to getting thrown out of EX’s as a Juri player. >___> Just have to remind myself what EX moves are completely invincible and which ones are just strike or throw invincible, etc.

After hours of searching in ranked, I always end up getting players with red bars. Accepted one out of desperation to get points and it bit me in the ass for my troubles. ARGH!

I love those players in ranked who “fake local” so they can hold on to their precious BP.

What is that? :wonder:

Rather, fuck Zangief…

On PS3 you can use 2 controllers to play pair play which is supposed to be used if you have a friend or relative that also plays this game with you. A lot of players online who don’t really have “real friends” that play this. so they’ll simply use 2 controllers and press start on the other controller at character select to fake a local pair-up. You’ll notice they’re doing this because they won’t use any switch cancel combos or follow-up combos after launchers during a match.

The advantage of a “fake local pair-up” you only lose single digit BP if you lose. If you happen to win however, you end up winning normal BP amounts but you cause the opponent to lose 70+ BP (scales up if they’re much higher rank than you). Hope this explanation wasn’t too long or drawn-out…I really don’t do long posts well.

Now that sucks, although the faker will have a lesser chances of winning if he can only control one character unless he juggles between controllers.

Zangief may have done the winning blows, but Hugo contributed more with his humongous damage and for being just plain intimidating. :frowning:

Completely this.

Most of the Asuka’s on SSF4evo were just low BP players used to showcase the other player owning them :frowning:

There’s been one or two good ones IIRC. But yeah, not a whole ton of them.

People be trying to jump in on me while the word “FIGHT!” is still on the screen. Sneaky bastards.

People with A/A+ ranks teaming up with a D/C rank, when they lose, they lose -1 but when they win they get +40/+60, I consider these people boosters.

4 out of 5 ranked match searches always ends up with either a Russian or a European player. This would not be much of a problem if their connection is at least 2 bars. :frowning:

On PC I have strong laggs against most eastern people even with full bars!

I keep getting this guy who doesn’t want to play so he leaves the room. It’d be fine if I could like…stall on that screen til he gets a match but it’ll just pair me up with him over and over. :C

I figured no one else plays Hugo anymore after months of playing ranked and then last night I find Hugo match after Hugo match. Naturally, I lose most of the matches so I’m feeling like my Hugo is a damn fraud. Also, just having hell figuring what to do with Jack between his ground pounds and uppercuts to keep him safe.

Fyi, several top players have said they think SFxT is a good game because it rewards the better player.

When played as a footsies game, yes. However I think anti-air in this game needs to be brought up for it to really reward the better player. Right now I see people derping jump ins for stupid damage because…why not? Sure you’ll get punished sometimes but a lot of the time it’s free damage or pressure.

Offer not valid against actual good anti-air characters like Lili or Juri. Except when online lag gives away my anti-air. I know i’m bad, Internets, you don’t have to make it worse when I actually do the right thing.

Jumping being so strong is most definitely my single biggest complaint against SFxT, so I have to agree.
