The Official Ranting Thread

Felt like doing this…

And how that Heihachi player who constantly do his overhead?! Even on wakeup lol

That’s really mind-bending to see. You knock him down and he does wake up toward. lp.

As a Bison player i sometimes fall for it :frowning:

The problem with Heihachi’s overhead is that it’s a decent antiair, those spamming that move sometimes get you trying to add pressure after a knock down or a jump in. It’s so rewarding for a random hit.

this describes a lot of the online PS3 community in a nutshell LOL every time i see multiple tag combos i just laugh at the damage scaling, and the same thing with the boost combos, it’s like they only learned how to boost combo off a jab, and do it endlessly, no real strategies beyond that.

I was playing some guy recently who was doing

jab, jab, jab, chain x EX special, jab, jab, jab, boost x launch, couple of normals into special, switch cancel, some more bollocks and another switch cancel into another 17 jabs.

Absolutely mental.

I know that feel, just today I fought two guys running Bison/Guile and EVERYTIME they landed a hit it would lead into abc launch then normals into special then switch cancel…UNTIL THEY HAD NO METER. I’d be annoyed if it didn’t scale so horribly, no, wait, I’m still pissed. There are starving children who could use that meter people!

I swear to god, whoever came up with the fucking perfect guard gems needs to be shoot on sight. What a fucking amateur, holy fucking christ WHAT MADE THEM THINK IT WAS A GOOD IDEA? And EVEN WORSE is that they’re fucking KEEPING IT REGARDLESS OF EVERYFUCKINGONE HATING THOSE GEMS.

Seriously, who the fuck do you have to be to have a whole company go “nvm, you just shat on the whole community with your retarded idea. Be quiet and let me suck your dick, nyomnyom delicious broken piece of shit.”

FUCK.

Dude, calm down. 3 more days, and it will be a nothing but a shell of its former self.

Damn, my last opponent ragequit on me. He left as soon as I nailed his Juri with a vanilla cross art and didn’t even let the animation finish. :frowning:

Then an hour later I met a D+ who nearly beat the bejeezus out of me! He has more heart compared to that ragequitting rank C+ earlier.

It pays to never judge an opponent based on rank.

I think I played him too

Yeah, I just wanted to vent a little, hah. Bit silly of me but holy snapers those gems makes me so furious, man.

Let me just elaborate on that very slightly: people online in any game - particularly fighting games - who think their rank justifies something, need to shut up. It’s a cool little thing to have, a nice little goal to set (that’s how I use points/rank - see if I can reach a certain amount of wins/points in one sitting), but it means very little at all, other than the hours you’ve played online. Especially in this game, where a sizable portion of the higher ranked players has auto-whatever gems equipped.

Even better when they do that, and then have the nerve to taunt online? Emphasis on “online”.

They’ll be impressive to me when they can do that well, offline, without the Assist Me! gems, in tournaments.

I fought an A-Rank earlier with auto-block. The thing is he actually has good defense based off his own merits so why in the hell is he using the gem? Because he wants to cover for any shortcomings that’s why. He can already play defense but just in case he fucks up one time he needs that gem to cover his ass. This is why nobody wanted these assist gems in the first place because if somebody that actually was good used them then they would be even harder to beat. At least they are getting nerfed but it gets on my nerves to see people that are A ranks and use assist gems.

I’m not gonna lie though, I catch myself naturally playing way more cautious against B/A players than C/D players, which I know is bad.

Some people just needs that extra crutch. It annoys the hell out of me (hence the rant a few post up). People want to win and these gems helps you win.

No I feel ya’, I do it too. Usually until after the first round at least, and usually a couple matches if they actually are good. I don’t mean to sound like seeing a high rank isn’t intimidating and certainly some earn it. It’s just… those special ones that aren’t as good as their rank indicates and then act like buffoons online.

Exactly, and that’s why I’ve hated them since day one. The original set isn’t so bad since they took a decent amount of meter, but it still caused issues when you did that one overhead that got auto-blocked and then left you vulnerable instead, because of the blue flash of wonder. The ones that followed made it ten-times worse.

Thankfully, the nerfs seem really sufficient, and at the very least it’s an online-only issue (though I’d like to see that rectified too). I get to actively drain meter from anyone using those things. I’m actually happy about that.

…they still suck though.

The online mode in the game is horrible. I mean it makes no sense what so ever that in comparison to ssfiv’s online it’s sucks ass. If Capcom gave sfxtk the same online capablilities as ssfiv i would be a happy gamer. Also why is it then when I’m fighting someone in the same country as me (and I live in Britain one of the smallest countries in the world) why is there lag. And why can’t I pick and choose who I want to fight in online mode by using the custom match option. Honestly it bothers me so much that capcom have made a HUGE step back for the online in this game if it was good then I would completelu jump ship from ssfiv

I’m honestly okay with this in ranked. You can still refuse a match based on connection, and I always found it weird that you got to pick and choose from a list in ranked; makes it easier to farm points that way (you can still do it in sfxt, but there’s more effort involved since it picks an opponent for you).

I do think the game could do a much better job of matching you based on your search criteria, though.
