Well there is that. Cross Arts come in handy more or less to cripple someone since it actually removes all their grey health immediately though. With a good combo into CA you can do 500+ while also removing their grey health, and if you need to switch out, the animation usually also gives your swapped point character time to recover while the CA is finishing.

If all you need is raw damage though, then yup, definitely can get better damage with 1 or 2 bars than a full CA. :-p

It should’ve just been “Guard Cancel” or something. Their official term doesn’t really make sense because for most other things in the game, the word “Cross” implies tagging in your other character.

Da heck is this, i never got more dmg from two SC’s than using CA. Like i said before SC’s can make better dmg than super art, but CA… :eek: Maybe i should go to lab then :smiley:

I’m at work so I don’t have numbers right in front of me, but raw CA’s usually come to about what, 450? 500? When I actually somewhat optimize in practice with Juri/Cammy I get about 490 for 1-bar SC. I know other teams can do better. Hell, I know that team can do better. :slight_smile:

Ok, so i checked some old stuff that i had with Ibuki/Cammy.

Solo Ibuki combo with 3 bars using CA did 595dmg. Using two SC’s did 556 and three of them was 586. However, Cammy solo combo with CA did only 545, mostly because she cant do much before super/cross art. But when using Cammy first with two SC’s i managed to get 567 and with 3 SC’s i got 601. So yeah, it all matters how your team is built.

True indeed. Juri/Lili don’t seem to do a lot of damage from what I’ve tried so far, but they do have a re-stand (I’ve only gotten it in the corner so far) so there is that to help out. Going to play around with some damage numbers and optimizing and such this week, and see what else I can come up with. :slight_smile:

Sorry roknin but your actually really good. I started playing with you about a month ago and you were having trouble beating terrible people (you use to be HORRIBLE, lol). Over the past three 3 weeks I’ve seen you evolve from a bad player to a killer. No one on my friends list has ever “leveled up” that fast in any game I’ve played. I watched you play last night you were sitting there taking rounds from A+'s. I dunno how you can consider yourself bad when your dropping/giving a hard time to the top 1% of the SFxT community.

On a side note,
Silph and you are fired from ever playing scramble with me LOL! You two are complete “ass” in that mode and we lost to the 11 year olds with 320bp . FIRED I SAY BOTH OF YOU!

The naming in this game is kinda ridiculous, everything has a cross in it. Cross Art, Cross Rush, Cross Cancel, Cross Assault; and on top of that all of these cost meter from your Cross Gauge.

They really should´ve included Cross Platform Gaming and a Cross Cancel for this Crossover Game!

I’ve finally got a REAL rant. Why can’t I decide on a team? Seriously, I’ve freestyled through almost everybody, and I still can’t find a partner for Ryu. This adds to my salt levels when I lose, also. Furthermore, who makes you wait for a match to finish and boots you when it’s your turn? GTFO.

I think it’s switch cancel or tag cancel, whatever they call the move where you tag your teammate when your attack hits or blocked.

Let me see, this is how it goes. My team comprises of Ryu and Juri.

My usual cross art combo (sorry, having difficulties remembering moves so I have to keep my combos short):
Starting with Ryu: Jumping HK, chain combo into launcher, then link standing LP with crouching LK by the time Juri gets in, then cross art. 409 damage

My tag cancel combo:
Starting with Juri: Jump forward HK, crouching HP, HK Senpusha, tag cancel to Ryu during the middle of the pinwheel motion, then catch the enemy with Shin Shoryuken or HP, Shin Shoryuken if lucky enough. Approximately 442 damage.

Both combos were done in the middle of the screen. Corner combos are more brutal, which may reach up to 600+ damage. So far, the only surefire ways I could hit with a cross art are through launchers and corner combos. I have a better chance of connecting CA if Juri initiates the move.

Anyway, I think I got this result due to my wrong choice of moves. Maybe if I change the jabs and lks with stronger ones it might have been different. I’ll need to come up with better combos I guess.

Any meter use isnt usually a good way to get damage after chain combo + launcher. Ryu is like Cammy, cant do much before super/cross art, except Ryu can do abit more in the corner. Obliviously going for SC’s is much better idea :slight_smile: Btw, i noticed that if you go for a chain combo into launcer and you want to use one meter after when partner comes in (either EX or SC) its better to switch cancel when you hit with the launcher. This way you can do Juri’s j.:hk: (or whatever it is, the move that causes groundbounce on airborne opp.) and after that what you want to do. This was just an example, but it surely does more damage in most cases.

It’s j.HP. Will keep those in mind, though my combos depend heavily on how my dexterity could keep up. :slight_smile:

Why are Ryu’s DLC costumes always shit?

Yeah, I have to agree with thecapsaicinkid. The SFxTK DLC costumes weren’t so “up the part” with those certain characters. It lacks the true definition of the characters design.

You can only do so many things to make a boring character more exciting.

Its so frustrating, learning new combos in training mode is cool and everything but i never get to use them in Ranked matches because Ibuki needs to start her shit point black range which is rare to occur? So its all back to cr.mp into x… I think i have a major flaw in my gameplay…

Seriously, I need either a sparring partner or a regular mentor in this game. :frowning:
