Whatever happened to her?

Had to ressurect this thread. The new Bell Biv Devoe with SWV is smoother than aftershave.

Thnx for the revival. What do you guys think about the state of R&B these days?

I’ve been listening to Syd’s album Fin, I’m liking it so far.

It’s weird because the “regular” R&B is still good but it gets overshadowed by the “commercial R&B” which pretty much is people not singing very much. Just my humble opinion.

Yeah i feel that the younger styles of music are still in there development stages. I do enjoy the weeknd though even though it has a more dark undertone than straight up smooth sexual.

So what’s some good R&B artists you guys would recommend?

D’angelo

Johnny Gill, Gerald LeVert, Lyfe Jennings, Jill Scott, Fantasia, Jennifer Hudson, and Kem just to name a few.

Some of the stuff I’m listening to at the moment:

They literally had one of the best most slept on albums of last year. I could have cried the day I wanted to see them do a chow in Cali and all my friends had to work.
