I agree on that J. Holiday, at first I didn’t feel it but the more you hear it, the more you start feeling it.
Anyone heard that one new song that sounds like Jagged Edge but isn’t? Who the hell is that?

Amen.
living my life like its golden.
Honey Molasses = Best Jill Scott Song.
Either that or Golden.
And I will forever say that Kelis is far too advanced for the American people.
Listen to Marathon, Lil Star, Emergency, and Glow for awesomeness.
Man, I’ve been an R&B head since I can remeber. I’ll drop a few names for yall.
Al B Sure
Alexander Oneal
Kenny Latimore
Hi Five
Frankie
I don’t want to get to obscure on yall. But check those folks out. Oh, and one of my favorite singers who never really blew up is Kevin Edmonds. I mean, this guy came and went with one of the better R&B albums of his time or the next. Brownstone will alwasy be my second favorite female group next to Envogue. Both of those groups had talent and were harmonzied as fuck. If they were still on the scene, Destinys child would have never gotten off the ground. Ok ok, I’ll stop my ranting now.
BTW, who the fuck made that song “Don’t Disturb This Groove”? That shits been racking my brain for a minute. I’ve been going through my collection of tapes and CD’s and can’t figure out where this shit came from.
I feel that R&B hasn’t been doing me in justice lately. Mostly because I am stuck in the past. But I am on a Neo Soul kick right now. Jill Scott has allready been listed. But I didn’t see Musiq or Floetry yet.

amerie’s new album is terrible. Its been out in the Uk for a while now.
I really agree man, they just don’t have much good R&B these days. I miss the days of Shai, Boyz 2 Men, and Jodeci. We do get some good music from people like John Legend and Musiq, but it isn’t as much as in the 90’s
Too bad, I think she’s pretty good too. Floetry is mad dope, but I will always feel SWV, and LSG.
I’ve been thinking that for awhile now. I haven’t heard every song but of the the 5 or 6 I’ve heard only 1 of them is ipod worthy (That’s What You Are). I pray she doesn’t release it in the States. I want her US album to be hot shit. I’m gonna buy it no matter what but I want it to sell and sell well.
This has been THE INVINCIBLE SWORDSMAN saying:
Well… actually Take Control is o.k. But That’s What You Are is hot shit and what I expect from my #1A.
Take me back to 1985-1993. R&B was broken.
Anita Baker
Luther Vandross
Aaron Hall
Sade

After 7
SVW
Also…who sung that song that went something ‘You’ve been gone/so very long/now it’s time to come home (sic)/Nat King Cole/You’ve been gone?’
Do you all think that R.Kelly stole Aron Hall’s style and is the reason why Arron Hall didn’t come up?
I know nothing is free and maybe Aron Hall should have worked a little harder. But the music buisness is a fickle whore. Either you make it or you don’t. Of course, sometimes you can blame producers and yes men for letting you put out crap and then you crash and burn.

I’ve been in a robin thicke mood lately. Anyone else like him? Right now my fav song by him is complicated. I also like superman and angel.
Maybe if Aaron Hall made his own beats and lyrics when he went single, then yeah. They did sound hella similar when they first came out. But while I’m struggling to remember Aaron Hall’s hits, I can remember almost every song from 12 Play. And while R.Kelly + Public Announcement < Guy, that more because of Teddy Riley’s genius than Hall. They could’ve put any other 2 guys in Guy and Groove Me would’ve still been a hit.
This has been THE INVINCIBLE SWORDSMAN saying:
Of course, you could also say Charlie Wilson was responsible for Aaron Hall, too.
i’m more of an old school RnB and Slow jams kinda guy. But i did like some of Ne-yos stuff…
I still listen to stuff from blackstreet, boys2men…
AKey’s new (albeit unreleased) joint, No One…

This has been THE INVINCIBLE SWORDSMAN saying:
It’s o.k I guess. It’s not ipod-worthy but o.k.
I agree with it being ok. It is good to hear something new from her though.
Oh yeah, finally heard another song from Amerie’s UK album that’s pretty good…
Paint Me Over…

Takes a full 1:00 to get started but it’s hot. This is what I expet from my #1A.
This has been THE INVINCIBLE SWORDSMAN saying:
Now THAT song is ipod worthy starts downloading to ipod
the system made this song. and its awesome.
i love soul music, but its gotta be funky, if it doesn’t have a nice groove, i wont feel it.

badu
dwele
remy shand (bad ass whiteboy)
amp fiddler
tiffany paige
jody watley
I LOVE boogie (which is like early 80s rnb disco funk type stuff).

Dwele is the shit! I knew I should’ve gotten into him when I heard Tainted Love, but I waited 'til a few months ago and I feel like an ass for keeping myself from his smooth ass music. Anyone heard anyting new from Les Nubians? Do they still even make music?
Kevon Edmonds? He was really big in the 80’s when after 7 was still together.
