The Official Qanba Fightstick Thread (New products Coming)

The cable how long is it. Is the cable at least 8feet?

Focus Attacks will get white Q4 in early November.

please send email to me zhongxianglong@hotmail.com

more than 2.6M(>8 feet)

My QDs came in, and after (very carefully) removing the others from the buttons, I swapped out the art, sanded down the plexi (it was a tad too large), attached the new QD, and reassembled everything. It’s back to working great and now looking how I want it to!

Added sanwa OBSC-30mm blue pushbuttons and seimitsu LS-32 stick, the start button is a seimitsu ps-14-dnk 24mm blue, replaced Minsk art with ssf4 3D art check out my q4. Link http://www.flickr.com/photos/locus010/

Heh…

must be accidental; a slip-up. don’t count on it.

Well… I haven’t replied to this post since thread page #19 or so… and maybe it’s too late to report some issues, but here I go:
I never got the headphones to work (either damaged headphones or jack)
i’m betting it’s the jack since, nothing I put in there works. Is there any way to fix this?

I’ll post some cool pics later. Also… what template should I use if I want to put some nice art under the plexi?

thanks in advance.

some pics. me ready to train, with BEER of course:

can you send some inner picts of stick to my email?
my email:zhongxianglong@hotmail.com

and I will send template to you.

sure thing, xiang… i will when i get home. I won’t have to open it up or anything right?? I’m not sure if there’s a warranty but I want to be careful not to invalidate it.

well to make pictures of the inside of the stick you will have to open it up. just unscrew the bottom plate. don’t bother about invalidating anything, that’s qanba you’re talking to :).

of course. heheh… i’m just very jealous with my stick… i love it! ^^

=(

So I’ve been eyeing this stick for a long time, and finally had the freedom (ie: funds) to purchase one off play-asia this week. It came lightning fast, and looks amazing, and [almost] plays perfect!

Now, the only issue here is I noticed very quickly when pressing towards the right side on my stick, I feel a slight, extra click/force. It is VERY similar feeling to the madcatz standard edition fightstick problem (Do you guys remember that from way back when? The washer issue? I think.). It has not gotten stuck, or produced an extra input----yet. But it is NOT something I wanted to discover moments after unboxing this very expensive stick!

I quickly attempted to see if anyone has experienced this yet, but I really didn’t know where to look outside of this thread. Please tell me I didn’t get that 1 faulty stick >< Like many here I’m pretty familiar with opening a stick if I have to, but I’d rather not. I paid so much for it to replace a stick that was just fine, because I liked the compatibility idea.

Is this something I just break in?? I guess it’s been sooo long since I’ve got a new stick, that I simply don’t remember.

Any help would be great =(

UPDATE: So, I bit the bullet and opened up the stick. Sure enough—I was 100% right. It had the EXACT same issue as the old madcatz SE sticks did: The loose washer.

I was about to punch a hole in my wall, as I [like all of us I’m sure] am one of those consumers who HATES products not being 100% functional out of the box. However, I remembered I have an unused JLF in my room somewhere. I went, found it, and simply replaced the JLF on the Qanba. Now it works just fine.

I do want to say however, that I am a bit confused as to where to direct my blame at? Qanba, for the stick assembly—or SANWA? Since it was literally, only the JLF that presented the issue? I have to say, I’ve never seen a JLF that looked so shoddy underneath?

With that aside, don’t get me wrong, everything about this stick is wonderful [SO FAR]. The only reason I was able to overlook this issue is because what the Qanba Q4RAF offers is too great to pass. Multiple system functionality is great, and as long as the stick doesn’t give me any other problems in the future, I will still be satisfied with this purchase. Also, I have yet to read of anyone else having a similar issue, so I can only assume it was a VERY rare occurrence (Though please post if you had the same issue).

^ It would be an issue with Sanwa, not Qanba. Though it should be very easily fixed yourself by re-applying some grease to the underside of the washer. Silicone is best, but I’ve had fine results using a small amount of standard axle grease.

can you send the picts to me?

my email is zhongxianglong@hotmail.com

Hi llx, I have sent you several high-resolution pictures of the inside of my Q4.
I am the one who emailed you about the power failure and “loose” audio jack.

Here are easy imageshack links to the photos as well.

The blue tape is from me extending one of the wires going to the microphone jack when I was doing the Xbox 360 rewire.

While playing a match in AE, my inputs suddenly scrambled for a few moments while the LED’s flashed several times, then the stick simply died. No more power. I tried plugging it into ALL USB ports on my Xbox, as well as on my PC, all to no success. When plugged into my PC, I receive an error saying the following:

"Device Driver was not successfully installed.

Unknown Device: X Failed.
Xbox 360 Controller for Windows: X Failed."

please open buttom ,and check USB port in main pcb, maybe USB loose in main pcb.

I checked the USB port on the main PCB. There appears to be no damage or loose connectors. I carefully detached and reconnected the USB port inside, but still no power.

I believe either the PCB is bad (most likely), or the USB cable itself has a break in it somewhere in the middle.

Are there any different pcb revisions between the Q4 sticks, or they all the same?

ok,please send email to me:zhongxianglong@hotmail.com
