Hi, I have one question about the Q3 sticks, from reading previous posts it seems like the shaft length of the Q2 sticks are noticeable shorter than a TE, how does Q3 go about this problem?
They do look really nice, i think i’m picking one up since I will be staying in China for 2 weeks this summer.
Yes, it’s a plexiglass with artworks directly printed on it, which will produce richer color than a traditional transparent plexiglass with artworks at bottom.
Both Q2 and TE uses the same sanwa stick. The reason why it seems shorter is because Q2 has an extra metal plate placed under the plexi-glass, which will ensure steady game playing.
Is is possible to place an order on a possible cheaper Qanba? I don’t exactly have much money to spend these days, but I understand that your sticks are fully equipped with sanwa parts which is great. But at times I personally don’t dig the colour choices and the template art that are used. So what I’m pretty much asking is if I can make custom changes to what’s being sold?
for example, different coloured buttons and ball tops, and no artwork?
The $60 stick sounds pretty good for me right now, because I had planned to get a Hori FS3 for $30 roughly, and swap 6 or 8 buttons and a stick and that totals to more than $60, so I’m fairly interested in learning more.
An FS3 is more like $50, just a JLF alone $25, and just the buttons $20. This is not to mention that the FS3 is a cheap, plastic case that requires dremeling and sawing and I don’t believe the JLF will even sit at the correct height without cutting a hole int he bottom. The comparison is ridiculous.
There is a LOT of work to get a JLF and Sanwa buttons in a FS3. I would say that after pricing out the parts, the stick itself, and what my time is worth, it’s just a much better idea to buy a Qanba, TE, or custom. The only reason I did it is because I actually enjoy this kind of stuff.
You can’t compare a FS3 with the Qanba sticks. They aren’t in the same product range and do not compete directly.
Qanba competes with the TE and HRAP; size wise, features, parts used, case construction. Sure you can get a Mayflash or anything really and stick Sanwa parts in it after some work…but you’re still not getting a high end stick with all parts being high quality.
if you’re looking for a small stick ala FS3, Mayflash, etc to mod, that’s great and they do end up pretty sweet but you will spend more then you expect (my Mayflash came very close to $95-100 after all was said and done).
Out of the box Tournament-style sticks all cost pretty equally, and the Qanba line is right up there with the TE’s, Hraps, etc…cost, quality and all.
^ I absolutely agree. I just meant like strictly price wise, a manufacturer would have to be doing something illegal or be absolutely nuts to sell anyone a $60 stick with Sanwa.
