The Official Qanba Fightstick Thread (New products Coming)

Q3 RAF for PS3(wireless model), pretty sure. I stand behind the person who dual modded my Q3, he even asked it in this thread but nobody could answer him…it seems that only my stick has been dual modded.

The EMP and 360 version seems to have normal PCBs that could easily be dual modded as well as blank plexi-glass.

Alright - I have the same model. Unless they had a motherboard revision which could explain it shrugs I’ll get back when a new multimeter arrives.

I’m in the process of swapping out the art on the Q3 for 360 but upon removing the plexi it looks like the original art is painted on the plexi. Anyone have ideas on how to remove it?

Anyone know a place to get a Q4 or will they eventually have it on play-asia

Hi, I own a QANBA Q3 stick for the XBOX360, it does not work with the xbox360 headset, so what are my options? thanks.

Just have to wait and see.

Get a wireless headset.

Is a 3.5MM Y ADAPTOR compatible with the qanba q3?

Just recieved my Q3 for xbox360 and I am absolutely in love with it. Feels really great.
Tried to follow a couple of threads here but couldn’t really find a good answer so maybe anyone here can help me?
If I would like to swap my JLF for a Seimitsu stick (for shmups) can I plug in an LS32-01 without problem or do I have to use an LS32 and solder the cables? Saw the pics of the insides with the LS32 but I would rather not do any soldering so the LS32-01 is my preferred choice.
I still haven’t decided yet if I want to change it, haven’t tried all my shmups yet with the JLF, but most people tend to say that the Seimitsu stick is better for shmups. And besides I still play a lot of blazblue so I might not want a tighter stick.

Seimitsu LS-32 sticks fit, check one page back how it’s been done(without mounting brackets) and you can just plug it in with no soldering. That said, I’m not sure whether the LS40 fits but my LS56 definitely doesn’t fit properly with it’s default mounting plate, only on end of the plate fits, the other end needs to be securely glued on(loctite red).

I went straight to a LS56 simply because it’s one of the smallest series sticks Seimitsu offers. It has shorter throw and stiffer spring which makes it more responsive IMO and I play SSFIV, Arcana Heart 3 and tons of shmups titles.

Thanks, man.
I’m a real noob at this. So, correct me if I’m wrong but the LS32 does not require that I solder the cables? Because I thought it looked that way on the pics I’ve seen.
I have the 360 Q3 btw. Don’t know if that changes anything.

I am fairly sure or near absolutely sure that the only thing that you need to do is just attach the LS32 without it’s mounting plate as shown in the previous page. The LS32 is one of the most popular sticks out there(much like the JLF) so if my LS56 came with the appropriate plug, the 32 should as well.

The Q360, Q3 and Empire Arcadia versions should all be somewhat identical except for:
-Cord cabinet, both EMP and Q360 versions should have the door on the left hand side whereas the Q3 is wireless.
-EMP version has a handle on the back of the stick.
-Q3 Wireless stick cannot be dual modded easily(Q3’s PCB was not working with an Imp and common ground Madcatz fightpad) and the graphic seems to have been printed on the bottom of it(maybe I got the early back but my Q3 had A LOT of work done to it but it’s still my favorite next to my VLX).

Aside from that, Qanba did really well with their line-up of sticks ranging from the Q series(2 and 3) and the other line which is more generic type(though they look waaaaaaaaaaaaay superior to Madcatz’s SE and Hori’s FS V series). The Q4 looks promising except that they sorta broke tradition and the case is plastic instead of wood but being triple compatible makes the stick WIN!

Great!
Will probably do this after I’ve tried the JLF on some shmups. Mushihime-sama Futari will arrive next week. If it’s crap playing with the JLF I’ll definitely change it so thanks for all the help.
Right now I’m actually modding my useless Hori Tekken 6 wireless stick into a full Seimitsu stick. Going to swap the buttons to 6 pink and 2 black ones (LT/RT) and an LS33 blue ball top. The entire base will be white. So that stick could well become my shmup stick instead and I’ll just keep the q3 as it is for my fighters, but then again I’ll have to put weights in the Hori crapstick cause it weights nothing. (I really really like the weight on the q3)
Thanks again for all the help.

NP, the most infamous setup I know for shmups is anything Seimitsu + octagonal gate. Both my sticks have LS56 but because I interchange between SSFIV, AH3 and shmups, I feel more comfortable using a square gate.

TheRobin has owned a 360 Q3(regretfully sold it and now waiting for the Q4), loves Seimitsu parts and has a fully modded 360 Tekken 6 stick with a LS56(or was it a LS32?) & bat top and Seimitsu buttons I believe. He’s got some good first hand experience he is willing to share if you have any questions.

If they made a dual modded Q3 w/ the headphone jack on the left side I would buy one in a heartbeat

Thanks. Will probably contact him about what parts will be best. Plus I had some questions about the button pcb.

I know many of you probably know how to do this already but I thought I would share.

I just completed my detailed how to modify a Qanba Q3 fighting stick (art, stick & buttons). I filmed my progress from beginning to end and walk through how to do it. The video is located here:

Great video. As someone new to this I really appreciate your work. It was actually your review of the q3 that made me buy it.
After watching this I am fairly sure I’m going to have my brother in law make me a new plexi for the stick so I don’t have to do the whole nail polish remover thing. Probably going to make it a few mm thinner so I can use a thicker piece of paper for the artwork.

Great intro & DIY videos! Everytime I see new clips of the Q3, I really want to buy one even more (Q3 EMP to be exact)…but I got to wait until mid-March at earliest.

How would one go about getting some Qanba Q4s for Europe?

I would also like to know if there is anywhere selling Q4s that ships to australia. Play-Asia wants 70 AUD just for shipping of a Q3.
