I currently own a Madcatz Fightstick which I use on my 360 and PC. It’s nice, but the Sanwa stick… the throw feels kinda long to me. I would like something tighter. I play a variety of games, including fighters and shmups.
Would the Seimitsu stick have a tighter feel? And how would the Seimitsu button differ from Sanwa buttons? Thanks.
My big fear with Qanba are the quality control issues I’ve seen on the forum. I would hate to have a defect. :-/
Oh wow, just read about the Q2 Pro “Battle of Wits” – that looks really interesting. I kinda like the straight layout and button off to the side, and the left/right switch could be nice for playing classic arcade games in MAME. Doesn’t seem to be released yet though. I wonder how much that would cost.
tapperp:
seimitsu sticks are tighter, yes. seimitsu buttons will also need a stronger push to be activated.
qanba’s quality control is as good as any. the difference is: here, you’ve got a forum thread where many problems are posted. other companies don’t have that kind of platform where all those customers with problems can post. that is why you are under the impression that there is a quality control issue, which in fact doesn’t exist.
Q2pro should be available in asia already. don’t know about the us yet.
I bought a Q4 RAF 3in1 (white) a few months back, and I LOVE it! The handle is great, it’s a nice heavy stick, and my favorite part is that I can use it on Xbox (at tournaments) or on my PS3 or PC at home. I got a good price on it too (around $170 I think), about the same I would pay for a high quality non-dual mod stick.
The only thing that makes me nervous about it is that the “start” button is placed relatively near the rest of the 8 button layout. Would have been better to leave it further away to avoid accidentally pressing it, but so far I haven’t ever hit the start button on accident. So not a huge deal.
usually, the placement of the start button is not a problem for people - as long as you don’t mash too hard :).
the layout imitates the original arcades where the start buttons is also placed there. there some models (qanba x elivepro, Q3, Q2 pro, eightarc sticks) where the button is placed somewhere else.
if you’re in europe, Simply Electronics have them, it’s where I got mine - I got a Q3 and I really like it so far, though I wish there was a way around the ‘360 pad driver using Z axis as RT,LT and also the POV hat for D-Pad thing’ - still though - while it would be nice to have a specific windows driver which just saw the buttons and directions the way they are, once I’ve configured stuff it should be fine.
I really like the feel of the stick and it actually weighs a fair bit more than my HRAP 2 - does anyone know where to get templates to print custom faceplates for the Q3?
Hey Qanba recently the door to my Q4RAF has broken and now I’m left with the wire just hanging out is there a way I can get a replacement. THis is quite a nuisance.
I just ordered a Qanba Q4 and now im worried about lag/input lag/simultaneous button pressing.
Does anyone play mvc2 with it on a high level? (tri-jump, sj cancel, unfly, infinites, etc…)
Only PCBs I (and a LOT of other high level marvel players) are the original/official TE xbox or modded with a madcatz 6 button front fightpad. I CANNOT play on a chthulu pcb. There is noticable lag for me and a LOT of times when you do 2 button dashes with roms/infinites/tri jumps it doesn’t do it all the time. Even lightening attack or smart bombs where you press 2 cross buttons at the same time it doesn’t execute 100%
And watching the youtube videos with the cthulu vs qanba scares me now. (if cthulu beats this and I can’t play on cthulu, im basically screwed)
Should I be worried??? Also the start button does worry me a little too since you have to “slide mash” out of hypergrav xx tempest…
I plan on plugging the first 2 buttons and and using the 6 last buttons for MAS straight button feel. I also plan to switch ball top to battop as well…
