The Official Qanba Fightstick Thread (New products Coming)

yes

Alright, thanks paxos.

Hey Paxos, is there any way to order Qanba shirts? I’d like to get one and wear it while I play on my Q4 at tournaments.

the eLivePro x QanBa shirts are a limited edition. try eLive.pro and ask if they have any left.

@ LLx8000, Paxos and qanba users,

I just wanted to know was this normal with joysticks. As you can see in the video I am barely touching the balltop and the joystick itself has a wiggle to it. I would greatly appreciate some feedback on this.

Having a small dead zone is fairly normal on sticks.
If you don’t feel comfortable with it, you can replace the spring in it, but its current state will cause you no problems.

So that loose wiggle is deadzone?

I still ordered the Q4 RAF Black SE anyway. Actually, it just arrived today but I won’t be able to look at it until next week because it had to be shipped to my billing address. Spring break can’t come soon enough! If I end up taking it apart I’ll post about it. Hopefully we’ll get some official word about the parts before then.

Yep - normal.

In case anyone else was wondering, the Q4 SE comes with an LS-32 stick and PS-14 KN buttons. Do you like it DarkShinigami? I may just buy the regular Q4 and add an LS-58. I shouldn’t need a new mounting plate or anything right? Hopefully the Sanwa buttons aren’t too annoying for shmups.

If you’re going to replace the JLF with a LS-58, you will need to buy the correct mounting place. You need the SE P-40 plate.

I love playing shmups and I really like sanwa buttons because of the sensitivity - the lighter touch is easy to rapidly press a button.

Like I said, I won’t be able to play with the Q4 SE until next week. I got the SE because I will primarily use it for playing shmups. Well, that and I didn’t see the regular Q4 in stock anywhere at the time of ordering. I was also thinking of getting the LS-58-01 along with the SE P-40 if it’s as big of an improvement over the LS-32-01 as people are saying it is. Maybe I’ll put on some custom art and mod the buttons too. I dunno, something to keep me busy during spring break.

To those who are experienced with LED modding, I would like some clarification about using the Sparky PWM SMD LED Controller with the Q4. Something about the 360 triggers being reversed. Is there some kind of workaround for it to have everything function normally?

Thanks for the info tech and DarkShinigami. I ordered a standard Q4 with LS-58, octagonal gate and mounting plate. This will be fun.

Best site to order from? I’ve found the Q4 for $130 on nikingstore.com, not sure exactly how reputable that store is, or how much shipping might be tacked on afterwards.

Hey there, I’ve had my Qanba Q4 for a while now, probably 9 months or so. I used it fine for a while, but the past few months I’ve had my controller randomly “desync” while playing on PS3, meaning I have to hit the home button to assign it to a controller again.

For example, I will be playing against my friend as player 1, he will be player 2, and then I will realize my character isn’t moving/blocking/etc and look at my controller, and see the flashing lights as if I just plugged it in. I then press the home button and it makes me player 3 (usually). Its very odd. It has happened when playing against people using various other controllers such as the default ps3 dualshock3 pad and the PDP mk stick to name a few off the top of my head. It has happened when playing on both slim and fat PS3s.

It happens so infrequently that its hard to determine how its caused. I would say in the last 3 months its happened 5 times or so, and I use it at least twice a week for several hours.

Oh and, everyone elses qanba q4 I’ve seen has blue lights (for showing the player number) when using PS3 and mine shows red. Not sure if that is normal.

much appreciated

My handle came in the mail! However, it took me about two hours to install it and I would up making it a teensy bit crooked. Oh well; it still works.

Protips for anyone considering installing the handle themselves:

  1. Don’t forget the adage of “Measure twice, cut once.” Yeah, that I made fit the screw holes in the handle, but the handle ends (where the screws screw into) were not pointed directly towards each other.
  2. USE THE RIGHT TOOLS FOR THE JOB AT HAND! I didn’t have a drill, so I thought I could get away with using a sharp, pointed screw, a screwdriver, and a lot of force. Yeah, I got it done, but I believe that my methods contributed to the above crookedness. Borrow one (a drill) from a neighbor or something. Also, once I got the holes “drilled”, I was using a long screwdriver to screw in the screws inside the case. The only problem was that there were buttons, wires, etc. in the way. Once I smartened up I started using an L-shaped ratchet (which allowed me to apply force from above the case, instead of inside of it) and a philipshead bit.
