I have a limited edition cherry red Q4RAF and it works great. My buttons are silent which actully throws me off a bit sometimes as my TE buttons were loud and gave me an audible cue for getting my rhythm down for combos! Weird…

Not even a month of use and my bottom plates screws will not even stay in now. I love everything about my Qanba except that the Bottom plate will not screw in fully and will wobble with any movement on a table. Hopefully Qanba next stick will change the the plastic parts or type or screws not sure which was the problem

Was thinking about picking one of these Qanba’s up because I wanted to eliminate having 2 sticks 360/PS3, but after hearing these issues, I think I’ll stay away. Bottom plate screws won’t stay in, squeaky buttons, random pausing. Sounds like its a hit or miss with these sticks.

our Q4 RAF 3in1 stick with 2.5mm headphone jack used our new pcb,new pcb have new functions:

MODE button can work for XBOX360/PS3/PC

Mode Button:D-pad to LS(left joystick),Default is D-Pad,press Mode button once,Mode led light,it will be LS(joystick).
this function for old pc Simulator games like KWARKS etc.
when Mode led light,press Mode button once,Mode Led off,LS to D-Pad.

Turbo button can work for XBOX360/PS3/PC

Turbo button have turbo(press once) and auto turbo (press twice)

turbo and auto turbo :

1.turbo:turbo can work for buttons and work for d-pad(joystick):
1).press 30MM button(or 30MM buttons) same time press once turbo button,then the 30MM button(or 30MM buttons) have turbo function.
2).turn d-pad(joystick) same time press once turbo button ,joystick have turbo function.

2.Auto turbo(only work for 30MM buttons):press 30MM button(or 30MM buttons) same time press twice turbo button,then 30MM button(or 30MM buttons) will have auto turbo functions.

if joystick or 30MM button(or 30MM buttons) have Turbo function,when you press joystick or 30MM button(or 30MM buttons) the turbo led will light;

if 30MM button(or 30MM buttons) have auto turbo,you needn’t press 30MM button(or 30MM buttons) , the 30MM button(or 30MM buttons) will auto work.

Clear turbo/auto turbo:
1.press the button(or buttons or joystick) same time press once turbo button,Turbo/auto turbo will clear.
2.Remove USB plug from console,then plug in USB to console,turbo/auto turbo will clear.

I don’t think you understand my problem, the Y AND B buttons DO NOT WORK, but when I HIT TURBO they WORK ONLY WITH TURBO ON, the buttons repeat without me pressing anything when turbo is on! I cannot clear them or anything! When turbo is off the buttons do nothing, but when ON they just repeat over and over! When I made my first post the A button was not working, now it is. NOW it is not but now the Y and B button that does not work properly.

It does not make sense that the buttons would work if I press turbo.

My stick works great I don’t have any of those problems. Not everything will work perfectly that’s why stuff comes with warranty’s

Does anyone have problems with the buttons being very squeeky(clear red obsc-30 and clear smoke) the stick is the limited edition red I’ve tried taking the buttons out and cleaning them but they still make the noise,It’s the actual button moving is making the noise not the plunger inside the button.
Any help would be appreciated.

Sanwa Clear buttons are Sanwa new productions.

My felt bottom plate will not screw in fully. It looks like the screws themselves stripped the plastic that they screw into and now when the stick is on a table it wobbles due to the bottom piece being uneven . Has anyone else had this problem

Hi guys, I brought a launch version of the Qanba R4, and it mostly works great. In xbox mode, I never have any problems with it, but in PS3 mode, it keeps randomly pausing. Yesterday this happened to me in a tournament, and caused me to be disqualified. Any ideas why this happening?

Do the black Qanba handles have ''Qanba" on them like the white ones?

Yes, this has happened to me a couple times but I never figured out why and am 100% positive I did not hit the start button. Unfortunately I have not found anything to explain this. I sure hope it is not a defect or something. I’m sorry to hear about the disqualification. I also have the launch regular version but I have Q4RAF.

I just noticed yesterday when I was removing the back panel, I was careless to check whether or not all the wires were cleared away from the screws and as a result, the black thin wire that leads to the small buttons (Home, Turbo, Mode, etc.) was damaged pretty bad with the wire exposed and almost broken. I think this has caused the stick to show up with 2 blue lights on instead of 1 red light whenever I’m assigned to a controller on the PS3 (haven’t tried 360). Would carefully stripping the wire and wrapping the metal ends of the wire with electrical tape help?

Also, as this is my first arcade stick, I definitely hope that it lasts me a long while with good care. Is there a way to tell when your Sanwa stick needs replacement (spring, switches, etc)? Buttons would be easy to tell I’m sure but they’re so far OK with the stock buttons. Is it possible to change to a Seimitsu joystick and buttons if I were curious to see how they feel or does the design not allow that?

EDIT: azido, is your Start button stock? Mine is but I’m not sure whether that has anything to due with it. I’m just trying to see what’s similar in both ours to cause this problem.

I just got a Q4 S3 and just heard about the laggy PCB…considering the S3 is a 2-in-1 stick for PS3, does it have the same PCB as the dual compatible Q4? Looks like the same setup internally but missing the parts for 360.

Has anyone ever tried drilling holes into the side of the Q4 arcade stick to fit two 30mm buttons? I’m a big fan of the six button layout but I don’t want to lose access to the buttons.

It’s a shame nobody makes an Astro Layout six button plexi for this stick, that would be incredible.

I modded my Q4raf with the Quick Link Release shaft but left the “recommended to be removed” washer in. It plays fine so far but i wanted to know if there is going to be any adverse effects in the long run.

People will always be more forthcoming with complaints than with praise - just the nature of wanting to vent disappointment and seeking answers to try and rectify problems . Whereas those that aren’t experiencing problems with their stick are busy playing games with them.

Got the LE Cherry Red Q4RAF and it’s worked perfectly from day one!

Edit: A lot people said there were problems with the PCB’s in the Round 1 TE sticks but I never ever experienced this and you wont see a shortage of madcatz sticks at any tourney today.

I use my Qanba a few hours every day, playing some input heavy games (KOF13, VSAV, MvC2) and its held up insanely well. I never get any dropped inputs or issues. Regardless of some issues with the manufacturing process on the Q4’s, the PCB is solid IMHO. Obviously not to the same standards as a Cthulhu, but the Hori and MadCatz aren’t either.

I’m sorry but the diagram for rewiring the mic is confusing. Can you post a diagram with bigger and clearer pictures.

I tried to follow it the best I can but I still cannot make it work.

Just some clarifications:

After rewiring, can I still use the white headphones that came with the package?
I should only rewire the 4 pin right? I should not touch anything in the 7 pin?
