According to focusattack.com:
Is there any rhyme or reason as to what sticks have a Sanwa start button or not? I figured all the newer sticks would. Mine did.
yes, indeed all the newer sticks should have a sanwa start button.
I ordered a Qanba Q4 Raf. When I went to try it it on a friends systems, and found the ps3 function isn’t working. On the website and the instruction manual, it says when the led lights flash, press the home button, but they never flash, and the ps3 just says unrecognized USB device. I did find however the 360 functionality works not only when set to 360, but also works when the switch is set to ps3. Am I doing something wrong, or is my product defective?
Sounds like the switch isn’t actually switching anything.

With some of these posts about switches not working, random disconnections, buttons/stick getting “stuck” in position, are there actual reliability issues with these sticks? I’m not a modder whatsoever and know nothing about the inner-workings so I’d rather not have to fix or fiddle with them.
I have a SF4 TE stick and I’ve never had an issue but I’d like to get a second one and these Q4 RAF ones look incredibly sexy. Have I just been lucky with my TE stick? I’m assuming that for every one problem posted here, there are probably 10 satisfied people using the same stick with no issues but still, it gets a bit worrying.
Qanba has shipped me a white handle for my white and red stick free of charge.
I have had zero issues with my stick so far other than it not operating in PS2 mode on my old 60GB backwards compatible PS3. I know it worked with some of the older model Q4RAF, but it was not advertised so my stick does exactly what Qanba say’s it will.
On forums like this you hear more from people with issues with their sticks than those whose are totally fine.

exactly, ragnorok.
nonetheless, everyone with issues will be helped.
What exactly does the mode button do ?
Thanks for the responses.
I think I’m going to grab a Q4 RAF from Canadian Joysticks. Not sure whether I should wait and hope they get stock on the black one or if I should just splurge and get that damn nice red one.
does the limited edition red have a non-sanwa start button?
Switches the stick between emulating the d-pad and the analog joystick. This means it can work in games what only support one of them.
which one is analog and does it matter like a TE ?
[S]Out of curiousity, when they first started using their Q4 did anyone have any issues? I just got mine and I tried it out on KoF13 but I’m having some issues doing diagonal :uf: (from neutral position). I’m fine with diagonal :ub: but for :uf:, I keep hitting :u: then :f: rather then :uf: :\ it screws up my hopping in kof13 by making me hop up 5 times instead of hopping right 5 times.[/S]
[S]I’m slowly starting to hit it right but do you think its a stick problem or I just need to get the hang of it first?
[/S]EDIT: Nevermind. I played some other games first and all the sudden, everything went to how I want things to be like.[S][/S]
anybody know where I can get replacement silver covers for the screw holes? seems like no one has answered that question yet.
Hi, got my Qanba about 4 months ago but recently my MK button randomly stops working. It’s gets really stops working. Anyone know how I can fix this?
Q4 RAF ALL SANWA after Aug. 2011
Please contact me.
please check button or button’s connect wire.
Got my black Q4RAF yesterday from arcadeshock.com. I LOVE it. Great style (love the box too), not too heavy or too light, carrying handle is sweet, felt bottom makes lap play so nice, and it works great on every system it says it supports. Extras were nice too (button plugs for 6 button play, microfiber cloth for fingerprints, earloop headset mic). I suppose I could list a con about the manual being only in Chinese, but I didn’t need it.
Great stuff!
got my stick as well! the cherry red finish looks so sweet.
and props to arcadeshock for including a free KOF Poster
