bungie is one stupid ass company right now, and this kinda sells it.
IW just super exploded for being tied to activision. regardless of what the real story is behind it, activision showed it is not a safe company to work for, even if you make one of the best selling games of all time.
did bungie just not read the news for the past month? did activision put something in their juice?
unlike EA, i’ll still buy activision games, but they are approaching that level of what i hate in the video game industry… and i don’t give a shit about bungie either. but this does seem like an inevitable oversight by bungie, seemingly ignoring recent events… this is just horrible business. seeing as bungie has only made halo games and will probably work on something not their own shit (probably CoD), they are prime candidates for not achieving expectations, getting reputation tarnished, and having activision dissolve them and effectively kill the bungie brand.
and no one can say “no activision won’t do that” because if IW basically makes you into the company you are today, and you just start firing people (or put them in a position where they are committing insubordination), then anything is possible. Bungie has obviously been brought in to fill the gap that IW has left, which means they are digging their own grave.
there is no skill in any of the decisions you make, generally critical thinking involves some sort of skill. in the game you just make decisions and see how it plays out, making you think what might happen but that is not critical thinking. because really there is no proper choice that would involve some sort of skill, certain choices just alters what happens.
From what I understand, the bungie activision deal has been in the works for almost a year. Also, they’re only going to be publishing Bungie’s games. They won’t own the rights. Pretty big difference when it comes to them and IW. They weren’t brought in to plug the “hole” that IW has left. This deal didn’t happen after the IW thing either. It was being worked on long before.
I think most USB headsets work on the PS3 (I say most, I’ve only ever tried mine and they were specifically designed for it). You would probably be better off buying one tailored for the PS3, you can get some pretty cheap third party ones.
ya i have a cheap usb headset, 3rd party for ps3. it was like 15$ and it works fine.
i am starting to hate teaser trailers, especially after that deadspace2 teaser. it is like seriously why even bother at all if you are going to release a teaser like that. its supposed to get you hype but i felt nothing after that teaser.

publishing rights aren’t something to be taken lightly. activision has done some guerilla shit before, and don’t think activision hasn’t done what they can to protect themselves.
imagine them refusing to publish a bungie game for whatever reason. or god forbid freeze them out. bungie better have a termination clause in that contract, because essentially activision will be their line of money from here on out.
which also should answer akumaTX’s question: no, boycotting a publisher doesn’t directly hurt the developer. the developer doesn’t see a dime of my money. developers get paid via publishers for hitting landmark dates (alphas, betas, gold) and the publisher basically rakes in the profits. yes, if a developer makes a game that does incredibly well, when it comes time to renegotiate that contract, then they have leverage to ask for more money… but indirectly, yes boycotting may hurt a developer down the road, but that all depends on who your publisher is… EA or Activision are companies that are heavily based on results and money, so if they don’t like the results they get, they can find every which way to screw over a dev.
activision isn’t just going to publish whatever bungie wants to make… if bungie decides it wants to make a shitty cooking mama clone, activision isn’t going to pay them money to make it, because they won’t recoup when it hits shelves. but obviously activision likes whatever bungies new IP is (and i’ll admit, i got it wrong that bungie would be working on activision shit) but 10 years? it would be a shame if bungie didn’t have a way to kill a contract if the game tanks and activision is able to freeze them and their IP out for ten years. “exclusive rights” isn’t the greatest phrase to hear, especially when its tied to a long period of time, so i imagine the activision lawyers won when writing up that contract.
Record of Agarest war and Kick-Ass are out today.
Star Wars Dark Forces (PSOne Classics) is out.
Wakeboarding HD demo is out. Kinda interested in that one. Was curious about the game being like a Jet-Moto/SSX/other trick-based “racing” type game. Will give the demo a shot.
Blue Toad Murder Files episodes 4, 5 & 6.
and a whole bunch of other crap.
Never played any of Bungie’s computer titles, but if their new IP(s) revolves around something other than sci-fi/space operas, I’d be interested. Some of the things they’ve done with Halo MP are quite enticing.
I’d really love to see what Bungie could do with the PS3. Here’s hoping their new IP is a PS3 title just to see something new from them. i wont mind if it’s another sci fi setting. I loved Marathon and Halo.
google is a good way. but why would you want to complicate things? why not just put the avi file on a flash drive and watch it directly from that. another option is to use the window media center and have ps3 pull it from your computer.
