The Official PS3 thread

Yeah, some scenes you have a certain amount of time to do something, or else it will progress the story.

I picked up COD4 GOTY, COD WAW, & LBP GOTY for $70 delivered off of gamestop.com, I used the code 15NEW for 15% off.
Both CODs were $19.99 and Little Big Planet was $29.99.
I’m not a big fan ofonline FPSs, but $20 brand new, I know I can get some enjoyment out of the campaigns.

I also loved the new POP game. Went back to basics, scrapped that fucking terrible and useless combat system from WW and TT, brought platforming back to the forefront (POPs a platformer not an action game fighting should be kept to a minimum) gave you an AMAZING world to explore with locations you could tackle in almost any order you wanted, and the interactions between Elika and the Prince are wonderful. Also I laugh at people who say you had to buy the real ending or else you get stuck with a cliff hanger considering the bonus DLC (A good 2 1/2 hours of added gameplay in a completely new location) also ended in a cliff hanger. POP has a real ending they just gave us some more gameplay with just as open an ending as the main game. Frankly I thought the main games ending was brilliant.

In my experience, there are only two ways to hate a Fallout game:

  1. You have no imagination.
  2. You are playing it wrong.

I hope you’re just playing it wrong, because I’d hate to see someone miss out on such a fun game.

Somebody on the internet has a differing opinion than mine? They must be wrong!!!

Get the one with the smaller HD. Even if you want the bigger HD space and you have the money to buy the bigger HD PS3, get the one with the smaller HD. It is ridiculously easy to change out your HD and cheaper by a whole lot too. Also by the sound of your purposes, 60 gig will get the job done.

I’m not saying FO3 is some amazing experience that everyone should go out and see for themselves. I mean, it is. But I wasn’t implying that.

Usually, people who hate FO3 either aren’t used to the freedom of choice, or try to play the game mission-to-mission, and have no fun at all.

A shitty game is a shitty game. SORRY BRO!

I usually don’t fight opinions, but the game can use a second opinion. Most of Bethesda’s games do.

100% agreement on this from me.

Excellent, beautiful game, much better than PoP2&3.

The endings, both of them, are really in the same tone that all those Arabian Nights stories follow.

I also thought Fallout 3 was boring. I didn’t enjoy the gameplay or the RPG aspects and I especially didn’t like that the less durability my weapon/armor had the less effective it was, nor did I like it crashing my PS3 constantly.

Blockbuster had GoW III. I’m liking it so far and the graphics are awesome. As people were saying in the GoW III thread though, you end up dying to stupid shit. In certain areas in the game I’ve had Kratos decide he didn’t want to double jump, but you can see him go into the animation for the double jump but he doesn’t gain the height and you end up dying cause of it.

As someone that absolute loved the original Fallout games, I could not stand FO3.

They shouldn’t have even bothered if they were going to consolize it to hell. I’m surprised they even called it “Fallout”, even more so at “Fallout 3”.

As much as I like FO3, I must admit, It wasn’t a worthwhile sequel.

That’s typically the case when new devs take over a series. If FO3 was developed by the Black Isle guys it would’ve been completely different. If SFIV was made by the dev’s that made most of Capcom’s older FG’s instead of DIMPS it would be completely different and most damn likely a better game. I’ve never seen a series, that when made by people other than the original developers who started the series off be better than the original game(s). I doubt Diablo III will be as good as Diablo II, though from what I’ve seen it does look pretty good.

BTW, I fucking loved the “woefullydepressingsetting.” If anything, it the only reason why I got as far as I did before deleting it off of my HD. (I got to level 7, FYI)

I enjoyed the PoP game while I was playing it, but in retrospect it kinda sucked. There is hardly any action, and the fact that you can kill the enemies in one hit before they spawn takes away from whatever action there was.

And the platforming wasn’t really platforming. It was like Sonic in that it did everything for you.

But what brought me back each and every time was the beautiful fucking graphics. I loved going to the top of a level after you’ve saved it and just looking at the landscape.

playing yakuza 3. trying to get haruka’s happy up.

stupid girl. do i really gotta regain your trust? i swear i’ve saved your life a dozen times this series, i don’t think me getting you donut holes at an AM/PM should even be a blip on the radar in how much you’re supposed to trust me.

in any case, haruka packs away food like no one’s business. 5 steps and she’s hungry again. crazy metabolism. she’s the next kobayashi, no doubt.

Wait, the new PoP is out?

We aren’t talking about that shitty movie cash in POP. Least I sure as shit ain’t

PoP wasn’t about the individual enemies you fight, the boss fights are what it’s about. they have so much character. (unless you just don’t talk to Elika at all, which that girl deserves attention, she’s an extremely well written and I was more attached to her than any of the other girls in PoP.)

What i PoP :frowning:

My trust level for Haruka is STILL at F and I’m in chapter 10. …but I agree why must I regain her trust? I haven’t played the first 2 games but I know she was in them and after all the stuff that went down why the heck is her trust in you low?

Anyways I missed out on finishing Rikiya’s tatoo so I’ll save that for a replay =3

EDIT: How do I finish the Cafe Alps substory? Where should I go to get my first clue to finishing it (meeting the detective).
