If it works like the other GTs, you should just work on winning cars by winning races if it means upgrading your starter vehicle. The AE86, Civic CR-X, MX-5 Miata and other lightweight used cars (1000kg or less) are good to start with as long as they’ve got a decent amount of power (100 HP or more should do it). Don’t worry about potentially spinning an RWD car like the Miata or Trueno, they’ve got just enough power to drift a bit and stay competitive but not so much as to make it a chore to drive.
Then again, I gotta wait til I can get my copy…
I disagree. Hollywood tries to get some aspects of the character translated onto the big screen. Maybe not all components of the character, but at least some… such as physical appearance.

The only thing that I’ve heard of the game so far is that it’s basically a web browser game, but it’s supposed to actually be very good in all regards. I’m an SRPG/TRPG whore so I’ll get it right away I’m sure. It’s my weakness. =(

looks really nice indeed. so your also probably buying disgea 4? i still need to get me some US points and get fft in the near future. theres some quality titles that i still need to get. also good ones being released lately (arc the lad 2, and hopefully soon well see suikoden 2).
i still dont get the bad gt5 reviews, all the playabillety is there so thats what i care about. some reviewers didnt like gt4 that much, but to me its still the best race game out. i think ill be into gt5, giving a game below a 9 because of how the menus look is the dumbest shit ive heard. and forza getting almost a 9,5 is downright gay, forza aint shit compared to gt. ive played it, not impressed. not in the ery least.
The GT5 reviews aren’t bad (nothing so far is below an 8) but I do agree that reviewers are being picky for their review. Giving a low score due to a bad menu system is just trying to find a fault.
So far GT5 has been everything I wanted it to be. It is a complete car simulator that gives me plenty of challenges and allows the car person in me to try to catch 'em all! The game looks great, the cars react and feel exactly how I want them to. GT5 is miles better than GT5P, which most complained was a demo, but to me was a great budget game that I put many hours into.
So far I have put about 6 hours into the game only trying to get gold medals on B-License. It was too much fun getting gold and doing it with the Driving Force GT was even more satisfying.
Forget the the reviews, GT5 is the best racing simulator on the market. If you have loved GT in the past, you will love this game. If you don’t like to study tracks and want to take your car at high speeds without very little braking, then GT5 is not for you.
The Eurovan is such a slow piece of shit

I’m trying to unlock the Top Gear Test Track in arcade mode and apparently you have to win Gold in the Eurovan challenge race on the Test Track to do that. It’d be easy if it was just a simple time trial but the worst part about GT has always been its retarded AI, which remains just as dumb in 5. Their algorithm is basically stick to the driving line and ignore the player, or if player is nearby drive into his car/block his path.
I was actually about to win the event and was on the final stretch on the follow through right before Bacharact (I was driving well off the line to try to avoid the CPU cars) when one of the AIs I guess thought we were playing NFS: Hot Pursuit and decided to break off the line and fishtail me off the road thus causing me to get DQ’d. If there was ever a time where I were to get trolled by a video game that was it. :annoy:

GT5 is a beast of a game. There is just so much content in there. I haven’t even tried out the rally, nascar and kart racing portions of the game. The weather effects looks so nice. So far I am impressed. The reviewers who nitpick on the menus are just trying to find a fault. They don’t bother me that much, and they are not that hard to figure out. They just need to fix the load times though. They aren’t so bad after a while when more data gets cached. I just wished they are quick from the get-go.
