LOS, has a lot to like, but it has a lot to hate as well. In GOW, only thing I remember hating was flying up that hole with all the shit that kept falling.
LOS, I have a long list but game is almost twice as long as GOW. LOL
Fuck the Chupacabra, shit was annoying after the first time, not cute after the first time.
Kratos, after every boss fight you felt satisfied because you got to beat the shit out of those guys over the top style. Gabriel, boss fights aren’t nearly as satisfying.
I’ll definitely buy a sequel of LOS, especially if it has something to do with the post credit cutscene.
Just finished up all the Trials in Castlevania and ran through some levels on Paladin difficulty. All I need to do is finish up every level on Paladin difficulty then collect a few more light and shadow gems and I’ll have 110% and the Plat, I figure I’ll need another day or two before I plat this awesome game. It’s been a while since I’ve gotten a Platinum, but that’s due to me being lazy and not feeling like collecting 150 of X item. I have a bunch of games at 90+% trophy completion, most recently Mafia II and Enslaved are sitting at near-plats, but I just fucking hate collecting all secret items in most games.
I never feel satisfied after a qte. I wanna end that shit MYSELF. I want to play THE GAME, not some button-pressing mini-game within the game. It feels like you really had very little to do with what happened on-screen. Fuckin’ Parappa, Shenmue, and the DDR series are to blame for this little bit of bullshittery sneaking into every otherwise decent game these days. What’s so hard about leaving onscreen actions ENTIRELY up to the player. It’s only been done for the last 20 years. Are we really headed for a time when all you do is watch a game playing itself?
I’m not talking about the straight up quicktime events, I mean where he beats the shit out of them and the screen turns Red.
Even if you want to say QTE, gouging eyes, cutting off legs to get shoes, smashing a guys face off.
Better than beating them and them poofing away after a QTE like LOS does.
Don’t know if I getcha there. I feel qte’s should be meter-based like the tortures in Bayonetta, and not an absolute requirement to accomplish things/kill bosses. I don’t care if they “poof away”, or if the body remains after dying. I want my skill and execution, not pressing the right button when it appears onscreen, to be what killed the fuckers.
I thought God of War 3 felt quite “involved” with the connection to the action that goes on during any battle… the level of immersion into the violence was so much better there than in most other games, imo. The overall visual presentation of the action in GOW3 surpassed nearly anything else I’ve played in a long time. The opening sequence alone shits on nearly every other action game in history, seriously. Speaking of which, I never got back to that game…and I should since I recall being very close to such an easily attainable platinum trophy. I think the only thing left for me was to finish up whatever the Hard difficulty was called, and get all the God items.
heh, I meant the entire opening scene, which is not actually a “cutscene”. It’s cinematic (and visually stunning on an HD set of course) but the player actually gets to do the cool stuff… it is indeed a fully playable segment of the game, so you’re not just sitting there watching. The fight with Hades shortly after that is amazing too…these were the major stand-out moments for me, besides the final battle.
Sad day my launch day 60gb ps3 might be done. I was playing Nin Storm 2 online and it froze up and it was all downhill from there. Tried other games and they all worked fine. So I was like okay maybe its the game, so went to gamestop exchanged the game no problem.
Played the game for like 20mins then it froze up again. I was like wtf its a brand new game. So then I went to play all my other games no go. I was crushed–rainbow six made it to the load screen then it was done.
So I backed up the ps3 to my external hdd, I also sync’d my trophies with the server and then I did the restore ps3. So seeing a clean ps3 is crazy. Having to go back thru the set up and stuff wasn’t that bad.
Im waiting for my trophies to load back up with the system.
Im hoping for the best but the ps3 wasn’t even playing blu-ray movies so Im really worried.
?uestions for slim ps3 owners does it play any ps2 games or Im i just done as far as backwards compatibilty. I dont really play the ps2 games that much but i do boot up kh2 every now and then.
Also I thought the 120gb was 199? that bitch is 299.99 might as well get the 320 for 349.99 if that is the case. That means no ps3 for awhile for me.
I know nothing about technology but I just wish that Sony could develop some type of patch or something that could make the all slims play PSX/PS2 games without costing us a arm and a leg for it. My PS2 died over a year ago and no way am I pay $100 just for a new PS2 to only play it “sometimes”.
Truth be told you should just suck it up and just get a PS2 cause i HIGHLY doubt Sony is just gonna patch up the PS3 just to play PSX/PS2 game especially considering some of the more popular PS2 games are getting HD releases.
I was reading up on that gophermods and I’m thinking about doing that. I figure Im spending the same amount of money. might as well have them fix my 60gb ps3 and upgrade my hdd to 160gb. Cause a new ps3 120gb is 299 no b/c. Might as well up my hdd, and get gopher’s warranty. plus i’ll have my ps3 back in the same week. with everything included Im actually saving myself like 120 dollars.
