PS3 Media Server plays MKV files just fine 
Stu, try turning on the PS3 from standby (red light) by holding down the power button for longer than 5 seconds. That should make it display something.
Iāll try it tomorrow morning. A few beers, shots and ice cream sandwiches later, not really feeling up to it.

Yeah, sounds like you need to reset the video settings to default. Happens all the time with changing the TV from HD to SD.
My sisters tv is hd.
Cryoh got it. Keep holding the power til it turns off (3 beeps), then turn it back on again. The video mode will have reset and it should work.
Nah, youāre going to want to hold down the power button while turning it on from standby. Youāll hear the initial beep, then a second beep five seconds later. Just tried it out on my console.

3D Dot World Heroes is the best game on the PS3, hands down.
I have no idea how many dicks Atlus had to suck to get this game state side but if I knew I would buy them all monogrammed towels for their effort. This game is amazing and screams law suit.
Adding to the 3D Dot Game Heroes is awesome comment pile. Iām only a few dungeons in and canāt explain how much I missed simple, yet enjoyable gameplay like this. Best part is is that the game isnāt even full priced! Highly recommended.
Love the music in 3D Dot Heroes. The blockout music is so catchy.
Still would rather spend my time in competitve mode for LP2, but I also want to try customizing my character, and campaign mode is supposedly the fastest way to unlock parts. Also kinda bummed that I have to beat the campaign once before I can use said custom character in it :sad:
Otherwise itās alright. PS3 version does sometimes have these brief annoying pauses, but itās also v-synced. Pick your poison I guess.
If I really get into it, gonna have to Gamefly the shitty LP1 port just for the Frank West skin :razzy:
3D Dot Game Heroes is as good as I thought it would be. Actually doing a Letās Play of it for YouTube and Iāve saw the game over screen twice already :lol:. Only up to the second dungeon, enjoying it a lot though.
I swear itās filled with a ton of sexual innuendoes.
My 3D Dot Game Heroes should be delivered today so I can check it out, in the meantime Iām installing all my games back on to my PS3 since I put in a 320GB HDD.
It was much easier to do than I thought, now I have a 60GB HDD that is pretty much worthless to me.

Itās an interview with one of the big muckety-mucks over at United Front. Pretty good read. I was particularly pleased to hear that the load issue on MNR is apparently not going to be much of a problem; theyāve already got a patch in the works to bring the times down:
āWeāve seen some comments about the load times, which is something weāre aware of. Itās something weāre working on. It wasnāt an oversight on our part at all. The way that our technology was built we were able to keep file sizes really, really small for transfer times of less than a second or a second and a half. We didnāt want it to be so that you and I go online and you want to try a track Iāve built thatās 50MB and then have you have wait five minutes to download it. That immediately became an obstacle in sharing so we created a file system where everything is built dynamically and on the fly. Everything is essentially a series of coordinates to things that are saved. The challenge with that is weāre building an entire world, an entire character, an entire kart, and 12 characters online, all on the fly. Thereās a lot of compositing that happens with the stickers and all the different parts. Because of that, there are longer load times, but thatās something weāre working on for one of our first patches, to improve that and get that down significantly.ā
