The Official Post your Arcade Cabinet Thread!

Whats the contrast/brightness level of the display panel? Looks very bright.

It’s quite dark in that part of the room, so I had to adjust my camera to make the photo. That caused the monitor and control panel light to look extremely bright on the photo.

Ok, here are my Astro City restoration pics. 1 cab is completely done and reassembled the 2nd was painted today. They look fresh out the Sega factory. We painted the monitor surrounds too adding a pearl effect so when light hits it it sparkles. I’m very lucky to have a family that runs an auto body business. Here is a link to my photobucket so you can check it out for yourselves. Shitty iPhone pics do not do these justice lol. Pics are HERE

Nice job man looks incredible.

that’s amazing footmeetsskull! The sexiest cab ever looks brand spanking new! I want two please!

Thanks, it was a lot of work prepping these but, so worth it.

Nice…I am tempeted to do the same…until I realise I need to invest in more JAMMA boards :frowning: Good job

Now that these are finished I need to invest in more JAMMA boards lol.

Welcome to my eternal struggle my friend, finding boards, fixing boards, getting them on a good price letting them go at a good price.

Someone should make a PCB thread, or maybe chuck some pics here? keen to see what you have now days Kelvin rcaido do you have a collection to go with your huge lot of cabs?

Dont want the thread to go all arcadeotaku tbh, I find the srk cab thread quite down to earth and super approachable. The other place will hound you even if they smell a conversion or anything outside of the prerequisites of japanese arcade style.

As for PCBs, you seen a few and you pretty much seen them all. I will however chuck up a picture of a Bootleg PCB and how to spot them so people will know at least what to look for.

Stay tuned

My collection is quite small…Since most of my cabs are dedicated to one game…I mostly collect game i grew up playing…I have done some lame videos if you guys want to check them out. Its pretty much a dedicated channel for arcade stuff that most people dont post about using real arcade hardware…

Very nice indeed singlongkuen. Is that a Taito ashtray as well? I’m interested in the stool you have and also where you managed to source the 100 Yen sticker from. Can you share these details?

2 years to fill that room up with Awsomness! You sir are Rich!

I’m pretty sure the Ā„100 stickers can be copped at akihabarashop.

Sent to the Internet with Smoke Signaltalk. Buy your matches and blanket in the Trading Outlet for $20 shipped. Firewood sold separately.

I would like a couple ashtrays for my cabs as well. I hear pretty much the only way to get them tho is to steal them yourself from a Japanese arcade lol.

I never understood the appeal for ashtrays. Cost too much too.

Yeah, I’m not hellbent on getting one just thought it would be a nice touch considering even after cleaning, restoring and repainting my Astros still smell like a Japanese arcade lol.

Yeah the smell is quite nasty…That’s why i use Glad Scent, works pretty damn good…

Just put this inside the control panel haha…I got the Hawaii Breeze & Clean Linen… Hawaiian Breeze is currently being used & smells really sweet, almost like ā€œcandyā€!

Thanks. It’s a TAITO ashtray indeed. I purchased it on eBay about 2 years ago. I bought the stool at IKEA. It was the only stool I could find that could be set at a practical height for the cabinet. I purchased the 100 yen sticker from River Service, which is very pricey at $35. I had a home-made at first, which I replaced last week for a genuine TAITO sticker.

I paid about $42 for mine. TAITOtech sells every possible arcade part you need through resellers such as River Service, but they are very expensive. I bet the ashtrays could be ordered as well. Nice paint job on the Astro City by the way. It looks like new again!

Maybe they have them as well. They are not hard to come by, only expensive.
