The Official Post your Arcade Cabinet Thread!

Finally got the stickers off of the Blast City. Now my basement and hands smell like Goo Gone lol. Going to try and remedy this right speaker issue tomorrow.

the egret II is $600 in hong kong. you could get one local for about $1000 if you wait long enough.

Nice! I just dropped my Astro City Monitor off at this repair shop called P&L Video Games and they literally have at least 100 monitors. It was like going to an arcade graveyard. hope they have no problem fixing whatever wrong with my astro monitor.

My buddy ibeatu pointed in the direction of this cabinet on ebay if you search for this item number

250997742688

It looks like a tekken 6 cab clone and it’s located in northern california

It’s a noir cabinet, I have one myself, great cabinet for hooking up a Xbox or ps3.

That seller is Kingsley, please dont buy from that guy…He screwed people over so many times already…I got screwed on 2 Astro Cabs he sent me that was suppose to be Newly Refurbish…Worse transaction ever & lots of promises…

Man my hands smells like Goo Off too, did some cleaning of my new cabs…They looking a lot nice now…

Cool, good to know.

Yeah I heard that if you’re going to deal with him, it’s best to deal with him in person, don’t get stuff shipped from him. Thanks for the heads up though

anyone considered using eucalyptus oil and cotton wool to remove the sticker residue instead of a propriety product? Just that I find it less harsh on the skin and the fumes goes away quite quickly.

This is my set up, it’s not nearly as pimp as a Candy Cab or SF II cab but I’m in a tiny manhattan apt. It has my 360 in it and I’m just using two VS sticks and an Asus 23" monitor. Very basic set up and easy to take down.

Nice, compact and tidy. I’m also slapping together a custom cab to fit in my shoebox NYC apt. So far I’ve designed mine to be created by way of circular saw, did you use a jigsaw/router/cnc to cut out your pieces? Or am I stretching and that’s IKEA? Either way it looks good.

I like that setup. My gameroom / Workshop has filled up WAY too quickly… Need to get to work on fixing these things up…
I was wondering if anyone in the east coast (preferably) or anyone that has Astro or Blast City candy cabinets available for sale and must be willing to ship it to Brooklyn, NY. I need 2 of them and they must be in good condition and complete, (must have control panels, and functional monitors with wiring accessories). Let me know what you have. This is a serious inquiry!

I’m going to be starting a contest at the Big Two tourney on March 28th, 2012 and I’m going to be raffling off a dual modded MLG TE stick (done and customized by me personally as prize) to start donation drive as means of gathering funds for these cabinets. It will be featured on stream with Team Spooky on March 28th 2012 and donations requests will last for a week before a winner is selected. More details to come!

If you guys can, these cabinets will be contributed towards the community in New York City and East Coast, and they will be put in a loving a and caring home by the players in Next Level. Much of the old games such as Super Turbo, Vamp Savior, many CPS2, Neo Geo games will be played on these machines and these games will eventually be streamed. Please help us out and revive the old days!
Thats awesome what you are doing for your local community. Just remember, no matter how beat up any cabinet you get, its only a matter of time (and money) that it will be restored to its former glory. But to be honest, unless you are in asian countries, most people will be familiar with stand up arcade setups rather than sit downs to be true to old days…like real men, best to do business standing up rather than sitting down.

Thanks guys. I actually picked this up online from recroommasters.com
It was an affordable option that didn’t require any knowledge of wiring. All I needed was a screw driver and drill. I will say, that they didn’t send instructions and a lot of the pieces were cut wrong, so I had to make some modifications. When all was said and done, I complained and got a pretty decent refund so I’m pretty happy with this as my first cab in NYC. In BK I had Marvel vs Capcom cab which was dope but I had to sell it. When I get a house one day, it will be basement arcade city lol.

I got two similar setups from recroommasters.com. Until I ran out of space in my extra room, the plan was to set up a head-to-head environment for my HD stuff. Can’t wait to kick out my other roommate to get that space back and finish off the setup. This is probably the easiest and cheapest way to get a small ā€œarcade cabinetā€-ish setup for consoles.

How is the VS stick working out for you in your setup? Does it move? Is it comfortable for two people side by side?

Its very comfortable for two player gaming. They do tend to slide a bit while playing, especially when somebody who is a spaz is playing against me. I’m still waiting to recieve my connector kit. Madcatz still has them on Pre Order which I find strange since the sticks are already out. I think once they are bolted together they won’t slide as much. The hight is also perfect for me, I’m 5’11".

Haven’t tried those yet but im pretty happy with my Goo Off that i used on my Naomi Universal…I was able to remove the sticker residue & finished it off w/ some Magic Eraser…I added my new buttons & sticks too…Will probably replace the Control Panel Overlay w/ the original orange one…

Here is a pic of all three japanese sitdown cabs i have…

Where do you guys buy replacement light bulbs for the marquee? Does anyone here have an Egret 2 control Panel?

Hey rcaido, just out of curiousity, did any of your candies discolour/yellowed around the area where its exposed to daylight, like in front of the blinds where your astro is located.

These candy cabs used to be in my garage, i just put them in last month. As far as discoloring goes, i haven’t experience it yet…

A little bit of Novus 2 and magic erasers will do wonders to ANY candy cabinet. Novus is a god send…
