Sweet.
Too bad you can’t get a mini version of the coin door.
I assume by the way you drilled the holes for the stick it will be a Japanese stick.
1 - Are you sticking to the traditional Nintendo cab ways and putting in an octagonal gateway?
I’m pretty sure the standard Nintendo cabs used a mini joystick. It doesn’t look like you’re planning to mini the mini joystick.
2 - Are you aiming for a sit down cabinet?
3 - If #2 is yes: Will the tilt of the monitor with that default layout still allow you to view the screen nicely?
Keep us posted I really want to see how this turns out!
Honestly I don’t know what I’m doing. I did decide that the cabinet will be for my 3 year old daughter and will exclusively play old Nes games via emu or an actual nes system.
For someone who doesn’t know what they’re doing you have done an awfully nice job thus far.
Keep it up.
When it comes to progress on my cabs, I’ve fixed the Blitz to stock but I’m having issues with the Blue. I think I just have a bad cable between the board and monitor and plan on fixing that and taking photos soon.
I have come up with some custom marquee and control panel graphics for my 2 Blast City cabinets though.
Both of the marquees were a big challenge in photoshop.
If anyone is interested in the 300dpi versions feel free to PM me.
For 1st Blast City
Original Marquee
My Edited Marquee for Blast City #1
Control Panel
For 2nd Blast City (And yeah I fixed the CAPCOM logo on bottom right of logo)
I mentioned that I had fixed it already. See quote below
Thanks though. The marquees were difficult to continue artwork on and they’re far from perfect, but if they look decent enough to me in 300dpi they’ll be fine on the marquee.
Oooh… Ahhh…
Tell me you’re taking that sticker off the Blast City plastic though. It’s killing your apology vibe.
Quick Vid of the Fiance’ playing the SF2 Pin. Got all the playfield LED’s running. Decided i’m going to do the Remote battery mod, refinish the entire cab, and do under cab LED lighting. Gonna be sick! Next step will be working on getting the Brand New DMD working. Soldering Hoooooo!
That is so sweet it makes me want to pick up that SFII pin that’s here in AZ for like $400.
I’m so jelly… and broke…
Progress ahoy!
I put the monitor in the Blitz cabinet and put the right control panel on it.
The monitor was difficult putting in due to different sized brackets and the Blitz cab was intended to be for 25inch monitors but the one placed in was a 27inch.
Either way it works. Playing it brings back a lot of memories.
It’s a great game. I’ll keep my fighting games in the original US cabs I bought them in or put them in the 2 Blast City cabs I’m refurbishing but I still have plenty of room for non fighting game US cabs.
I’ve seen a few of them over the last 2 months looking around ebay and the arcade community but they will NOT be cheap. We’re talking $300-$400 for the CPS2 JP X board which IMO is wayyyy overpriced for it’s production level. Sorry I can’t guide you to a specific place, but if you’re willing to pay the high dollar just keep an eye out on NeoGeo forums, Arcade Otaku forums, Ebay and Arcade-Museum forums. Good luck.
They do pop up from time to time, but Frank is correct. They aren’t going to be cheap. They sell for 2-400$ here in the states while some say you can score them for 50$ in Japan… We need a middleman!
