The Official Poker Thread

hey who plays cash games here or are we mostly tournament players here?

i play both. i play 3/6 kill cash limit and nl tournies. i do not play online though. i fucking hate online poker.

I play 5-10 Limit live or 1/2 NL live

Cash games strictly 2/4 short handed limit for now.

i play vcash games tuesday and thursday nights
10/20 nlā€¦usually 8 or 9 handed

Just hit 4th in a $69+6 10k guaranteed for $1466. Biggest cash ever in a tourney, made a really donkish move and coulda had at least 2nd, but oh well.

whatā€™s the number of entries usually for that tournament?

like 200? 218 entered it.

i just barely read this thread for the first time in three monthsā€¦

thread should be closed at this postā€¦ coz this is obviously the SMARTEST thing i have ever heard someone say.

lololā€¦ HELLLLLLA suckoutā€¦

Dude made a mistake though, he shouldā€™ve re-raised big so he wouldnā€™t have a chance to see a 5. unless dudes a scrub and wouldā€™ve paid anything to see it

JJ calls 55ā€™s ALL IN after flop.

55 only HAS 12% chance of winning this hand after flop. heā€™ s pretty much dominated unless he spikes 5 or runner runner straight.

55 made a move for pot, JJ saw right through it, and got sucked out.

i think youā€™re analyzing a small factor of the hand. ok, if i was called i have a 12% chance to showdown the best hand, which adds a bit of equity to my ultimate goal of winning the pot. mostly, i was relying on my fold equity to take it down. there were also some metagame reasons for my play, some that you may not be aware of. iā€™m not sure you understand the hand on a whole anyway, or did you just see the part where i went all in with 5s on a Q high flop? anyway i really donā€™t feel like discussing it unless you can manage not to be an ass.

today at my live game i saw a royal flush come on the board! i raise KK utg, loose player reraises, i go all in pf, he calls, he shows JJ and we see a flop. it comes Ad Qd Td. decent flop, he needs a K to pull ahead, iā€™m looking good. turn is Jd. so iā€™m ahead with a straight, looking for him not to make a house or tie with a flush or straight. river Kd! i took some pics maybe i can get them on srk.

i also stacked two ppl near the end of the day. tight player raises utg while itā€™s 6-handed. cutoff calls, i call on the button with 47c looking to stack someone. or just play position. blinds fold. flop comes 487. guy bets out, co folds, i raise. he calls, apparently for overcards as he said later. turn J, he goes all in, i call, river Q. oh you bet he was pissed. he showed kj. yea he was pissed, but thatā€™s why i would play a suited connector against especially a tight opponent, who is rather transparent, with position. if heā€™s gonna get married to KJo, iā€™ll be there to collect on his mistakes. then he mumbles something about how heā€™s gonna go play 50NL online, lmao. god i wish you could multitable live play lol.

a few hand later while 4 handed, really good aggressive player raises utg, i call in sb with KQc. he plays position well i expected him to have any two, so iā€™d play cautiously. flop AJx. check, check. turn 7, i bet he smooth calls. river offsuit T. i bet, he reraises all in, i look over the board again cause at this point iā€™m really tired, made sure i had the nuts, and called. he had AJ for flopped two pair.

you need to stop rationalizing, bottom line is you put a bad beat on the guy when he had you killed. you tried to make a move for the pot, it didnā€™t work out but you got bailed out on the river. no one is saying you necessarily made a bad move, but he made a good call and got fucked in the end which is what poker is about some times.

he smooth calls pf with JJ. if he isnā€™t going to fold any flop then he might as well go all in pf, or stop and go. then i fold, and we donā€™t have to see me suck out. he made a mistake pf.

oh this is all when the blinds are insanely high. early or mid game obviously it would be common for certain opponents to call out of position with JJ, but i certainly wouldnā€™t put in my whole stack to win a few chips early in the tournament.

iā€™ve seen 3 royal flushes on the board on boss media network sites within the space of about 5k hands, it really seeems like the games are juiced there to give people good hands a lot, see an insane amount of boats, straight flushes etc compared to other places.

Fuckin gayyyyyyyyyyyy

Shut the hell up.

YOU WERE WRONG AND STUPID

i canā€™t believe he checked the turn thoughā€¦

anyway, what would u guys do if u had a hand like 66 in last position and u flopped a set and the board came all spades ( u donā€™t have a spade)? i folded this hand, but was it the correct decision?

personally,
i would raise it if everyone else checked it
not too much though
then i would make my next decision based on the turn and what the people before me did
thatā€™s just me

and i agree,
itslog made a stupid move

baaaaaaaaaaa.

youā€™d make a nice wool coat.

also i donā€™t think weā€™re arguing about the move i made. weā€™re talking about if it was justice or not when i spiked a 5. my case is that it is because the opponent made a mistake on two streets, and i was going to have to pay for it.

 You got it.

And I fuckin hate jokerstars, seems like whenever someone is all in and they need to hit runner runner, they do it like 90% of the time. :lame:

Anyone know how to close an account on it? I have two of them, and want to delete one.
