FUCK THAT!
BAD TIMES!!! BAAD TIIIMESSS!!!
I just want to bounce a somewhat general question off you guys :karate:
Lately, when Iāve gone to play at our casino/B&M. Now I donāt know if its knowing the players who I sit with, or Iām playing ABC poker, playing straight forward solutions, or just basic luck. But I;ve been getting some very nice looks and reads with somewhat of the positive spot of being paid off.
Is this just me knowing whats coming with player(s) x now? Making more educated / experenced plays in position to set up the pay off? It is just as simple as catching good cards and flops?
okay so lately, iāve been moving up the limitsā¦(from pennies -> quarter blinds), i think iām progressing quite well, but itās hard to tell.
i donāt know if iām being lucky or iām skilled, but people have been going all-in so carelessly. WHICH IS THE ONLY WAY I CAN WIN BIG POTS. seriously, when i try to win small/mediocre pots, i canāt hang with them. but when opponents go all in with K 3 and the flop comes 8 T K, A, 2 and i have the nut straight, i feel lik i just got lucky. itās hard to win pots that when u have A 9 or T9s and stuff like that =(. so the question is, AM I PLAYING RIGHT???
also, if i am playing right, which is waiting for the big pots and not play the mediocre hands, should i move up the blinds?? i played around the cent tables for 1 weekā¦moved up .05/.10 for the next 5 days, and now iām in the .10/.25 and i feel like moving to the .25/.50. i built my bankroll from $20 ----> $86 in 2 weeks. what do yaāll think?
EDIT: now i just hit the $100 bankroll mark :encore: $100 doesnāt sound a lot to u guys, but it sounds just as good as earned money =D
since none of us are with you we canāt tell youā¦ but the fact that you are wary about your newfound success is a GOOD thing. As long as you donāt become overconfident and youāre willing to play solid poker you should do fineā¦ I wouldnāt worry about changing until you start losing a lot
Iāll never really felt overconfident since Iāve really starting playingā¦I just I guess play to much devils advocate when Im in any type of pot if thats the correct way to explain it :xeye:
I donāt think changing up is the problemā¦maybe its just gaining the experence starting to show up a bit after I reflect on it more
I mean I read up on certain topics to try to have a feel for situations if they ever come up to just refer to something like we have a free mag ( not cardplayer ) we get via out casino which had a nice read on āJacksā basically a pros and con article which I actully used to win a hand the other night which felt goodā¦it was some guy just bluffing an over card which flopped and never helped him but still, I took the info to heart and made something of it.
p.s Anyone get cardplayer at thier casino/cardroom they would want to trade for our mag called Canadian Poker Player
omfg. gay. i did nothing tonight but lose with pocket pairs. aces lost to flush. kings lost to flush and full house. queens nobody called my all in of like 1.50 in .10/.20 game preflop. pocket kings lost to pocket aces. some of these are bad beats but i obviously need some tips on pocket pairsā¦ anyone?
Just know when to fold them. Obviously itās hard to fold pocket rockets or cowboys but if you are positive you have the best hand then bet it out.
It sounds like youāre playing NL, so when you bet, try to make it big enough to make chasers fold. If they do call and a danger card comes on the turn (3 suited cards, makes a possible straight, pairs the board) then play real carefully. Itās not an automatic fold, now you have to think about what cards these people would play, and if they could have you beat.
Especially with Kings or Aces, no matter what position you should bet. Limping in could just make a 7-4 offsuit BB hit a straight off the flop.
Honestly I donāt find any pocket pairs to be real profitable, unless I hit something like trips and the others caught top 2 or a draw and miss.

I have a couple of quick questions. One, I was looking to finally create a real money account and was wondering if in doing so, my crating rating would be affected at all. Dumb question maybe but itās suprising how sensitive credit reports are to certain things. The other is which site would most of you recommend. I know Viscant periodically provides info on which sites you can take advantage as far as getting good deals and free cash here and there. Any help would be appreciated.
hey amen to rickstah. i raped tonight with pocket pairs. thanks man! two great sessions back to back.

you fucked upā¦ look at your betsā¦ no one to blame here but yourself.
My fault I wanted to slow play a full house, the one time he decides not to bluff? Okay.
damnā¦seirously
shouldāve bet big on and after the flop. 99 is not really that strong of a hand preflop anyway, but u shouldāve just bet big since ur against 1 player. if he calls, just be prepared to bet big if u do hit a nice flop. fortunately u do, so u shouldāve bet big and not let him catch ANYTHING. thus since u slowplayed, things are bound to shit on.
what if he had a hand like AK. the king looks nice for him so of course he might try to slow play u as well and itās cheap to possibly see an Ace. or even other cards like a deuce, 9, or J and Ks full of Jacks beat u. make it expensive for the player who wants to play.
like sigley said and matthew hilger wrote, slowplaying will get u into more trouble and serious losses UNLESS FOR SURE
i see nothing wrong with the way that hand was played, i prob wouldāve went all-in when the 3rd K came out but w/e, you got the money in when you were ahead, nothing more you could reallly do.
for those who follows WSOP on ESPN, i wonder all those holdem foldem hands featuring jesus in the fridge are real headsup that they didnt bother to comment regularly or its totally unrelated to the actual tournament??
