The post game is ridiculous. The wild Pokemon are about level 60 and above. The trainers have pokemon that are at least level 60 too. You come out of the elite four at level 50 at the most. I wanted to go back to the elite four thinking I could grind…I was wrong. Unlike the other games where you have to do some things before the E4 upgrade, they upgrade IMMEDIATELY in this game. I had fun getting raped by a level 71 Frosslass.

I got lucky and caught a adamant roggenrola, but I want drilbur for those nice resistances. I caught one but I wanna see if I can catch another without a shitty nature.
Roggenrola is one of my new favourite (English) Pokemon names.
Drilbur is a top tier Pokemon. If you hold his evolution off for two levels you can get earthquake early.
Doujinshi: I caught a Ditto while I was in the Giant Chasm. I can breed you a Rufflet tomorrrow to ensure that it will obey you. I’m tired now. I don’t know if you care about natures, I can hatch for the right nature and send it to you at level 1 if not being the OT bothers you.
cofagrigus is easily my favorite gen v pokemon. trying to run him as a Trick Room.

I know he has high defenses but my theory is Will-O-Wisp makes him even harder to kill. I could replace it if a better option came up though.
Will-o-wisp is the SHIT with Sarcophagus Pokemon(that’s my name for it, fuck that cofa-whatever the fuck its name is supposed to be).
Ditch Shadow Ball for Evil Eye and rack up the pain on bitches. In that last slot, I like Disable for messing with Choice’d pokes and just being an overall annoyance. Sarcopahgus Pokemon FTW! It’s my new favorite Pokemon. I love that gold-plated badass…

My favorite Gen V Pokemon is Mienshao, I love the regenerator+u-turn combo. I’m definitely going to be breeding them until I get a Jolly regenerator. I don’t know if I should use him as a lead or sweeper. I thought Mienfoo was good, Mienshao OHKO’s level 64 Ursarings at level 52.
I hear the ingame is a lot more challenging than normal, is this true?
Well, I’m 3 badges in and I’ve yet to experience any difficulties. I do level grind for better preparation, but not to the point where I’m sweeping gym leaders with one pokemon. I do expect things to tighten up soon though…
Not if you pick up that fire monkey in the desert and the mole in the first cave. They’re like the Alakazams of 5th gen in-game.
Anybody else having trouble connecting to Wi-Fi? I’ve been trying to download the Liberty Ticket, but can’t seem to connect for the life of me.
I’ve been having the same issue. Wouldn’t connect to gamestops or the mall’s wifi. Tried Starbucks, Wal-Mart and McDonalds wifi and still didn’t work.
Pretty pissed.
Nintendo’s servers must be overloaded or something then. Sounds about right. Game companies never prepare their servers for big game releases and giveaways… Don’t tell me they didn’t anticipate a huge spike in online activity for a POKEMON game…
Maybe. Cause every wifi spot I went to was at 100% and they still couldn’t connect. It was pissing me off. My cousin who I ended up seeing at the release ended up getting liberty ticket but it took him about an hour to finally connect.
Fuck that.

quick question more about the DSI then pokemon. i wanted to connect to wifi to get the liberty ticket, but it seems like DSI only uses WEP encrypted wifi access points. I havent played my DSI in a long time, and i noticed there was a system update. My question is, does this system update
- provide support for WPA connections
- i have a first gen DSI (region free) will this update region lock my DSI?

I’m liking the ingame. I’m actually getting a little challenge out of it. Elesa was destroying me for a few battles because I had no way to deal with the constant Volt Change switching. Eventually beat her though.
Darmanitan is broken ingame. Please use it. Oshawott family is pretty good after you get Scald, too, although it’s nowhere near the Darmanitan level of craziness. Mainly because it can’t oneshot whatever it wants with Scald, unlike what Darumaka was doing with Fire Punch. Now that it is Darmantian with Flare Blitz and a buffed up Fire Punch, I can’t even imagine what I’m going to be doing with it. The crocodile is good, but Sand Tomb + Assurance is a horrible starting list of moves at level 20.
Picked up Joltik, the electric spider. Got Compoundyes as an ability. I really hope I get Thunder soon, because 180 base with STAB + 91% accurary + 30% para ingame is amazing. Apparently Thunder is at the P2 Lab, which shouldn’t be too long from now.
