Keep in mind that’s for double battles. Still, it’s an interesting read.
The link also mentions the region’s name - Unova. This is the first time the English region name differs greatly from the Japanese one. Unova>>>>Isshu.
I can’t even find the reference for these starters’ names, they’re so vague and retarded.
Here are my guesses:
Snivy: Snake+Ivy or Snide/Sniveling+Ivy
Tepig: Tepid+Pig (tepid means lukewarm, slightly warm)
Oshawott: 
…maybe something to do with an otter/ocelot. I have no idea wtf they were going for with that name. :wtf:
