That’s a good point, he is a little bit gyarados weak, although HP electric empoleon may not even save him if the gyarados has earthquake(+1 earthquake 1 shots empoleon).
i just partnered up with a toxic orb’d guts ursaring with non-stop facade in tag battle
i think im gonna use that
the damage was kinda ridiculous
Yea, with enough dances Gyara can really put his stamp over that team. With enough EVs in defense Empeleon can survive at least one DD EQ, but not 2.
nothing on that team really threatens gyarados…with that being said i think that celebi is a better option over azelf. heatran can eat any fire attacks aimed at celebi for the flash fire boost. this is why scarf’ed heatran is very important here: after a flash fire boost, rash natured heatran’s special attack is now 591 enough to SEVERELY hurt whatever they have the bravery of switching in to absorb the fire blast (just pray it’s not another heatran! lol). celebi and heatran work very well together with celebi resisting water and ground attacks and heatran resisting fire and ice attacks.
if you’re looking for a good wall, suicune also works well in place of empoleon.
just something to think about.
rest talk machamp can switch into gyarados and live through a +1 waterfall(there’s a very VERY small chance it’ll die) and guarantees one shot with stone edge, though he has to be at full health, it’s even better if it’s bulky gyarados, that one does not threaten to kill and still dies to stone edge.
I’d recommend quick feet over gets for that build, stabbed facade is already doing INSANE damage, and with quick feet you can actually out run things. Although you do already have a decent amount of speed on your team with gengar and DD kingdra, so if you’re justing using guts’d facade to ANNIHILATE walls that may be good too!
ya i think im gonna use it just to smoke everything else in the water
im gonna start to make my team in diamond tomorrow, and ready to transfer into hgss ;D
Bronzong - rain dance, stealth rock, toxic, explosion
Kingdra - dragon dance, waterfall, hydro pump, outrage
Machamp - dynamic punch, payback, rest, sleeptalk
Gengar - thunder, focus blast, shadow ball, explosion
Ursaring - facade, crunch, rest, sleeptalk
Mamoswine - earthquake, ice shard, stone edge, protect
im ready to EV FOR THE NEXT WEEK BABY
is that supposed to be a rain dance team? if so it needs more dedicated rain dancers and probably one more swift swimmer.
machamp CANNOT switch into +1 gyarados if it’s taken any prior damage. period. best thing machamp can do is to hopefully revenge kill with stone edge but machamp has a base 80 defense which is easier said than done. it has to be really defensively ev’d to do anything back to gyarados otherwise it’s outsped and k.o’ed.
that sounds too pro
this is more of a “im gonna beat my friend into a pulp” team haha
it’s actually still possible for it to die even if the machamp is at 100% health, according to the smogon damage calc it does 100.3% max. It’s not a great strategy, but it should work most of the time if the machamp is uninjured. Also that’s only the life orbed variant, the bulkier version doesn’t kill at all, and machamp does still kill it back.
I think his team was, make a decent team with stuff he likes, I recommended the bronzong since it resists some stuff he was weak too and gets rocks up. I suggested it rain dance just to randomely help kingdra and give thunder ability to gengar)plus it weakens fire which he doesn’t use.
Also you might want to think about hypnosis over toxic on the bronzong, toxic is only really useful if you toxic walls(and a wall is never going to come in AGAINST your bronzong no one wants wall fight) and hypnosis can seriously mess up some bronzong counters.
so i would use hypnosis and then tag out?
and yes it was mainly a team of guys i like, im not super competitive =\
yeah basically, the best situation is probaly, switch into something that can’t hurt bronzong(there’s lots of those), rain dance as they switch into something to fireblast you, watch as they cry that fire will likely not kill you anymore becuase of your massive bulk and rain, hypnosis, switch into something dangerous(like your doubled speed quad fire resisting water damage boosted kingdra!)
hmmm well if bronzong only has rain dance to help kingdra what is the purpose of it having DD? it probably has a better use for draco meteor over DD if bronzong is going to be rain dancing.
hypnosis over toxic is good but hypnosis at 60% accuracy…=/ ursaring is interesting though. always wanted to try one on my UU teams.
no point of dragon dancing to buff up kingdra even more? ok, i thought it would be better that way haha
well DD is going to achieve the same thing that rain dance is giving kingdra because water attacks do more damage in the rain and kingdra has swift swim. just means that kingdra won’t have to use any turns to set up since bronzong already did the work for him.
I really didn’t put any time into diamond. Are these new ones going to be worth it?
ahh i see
so draco meteor is a good replacement?
well i never played silver and gold, so thats why im getting it
i hear its good because you get 2 complete zones, instead of 1 like every other game
they’re just remakes of gold/silver/crystal like fire red/leaf green. which is awesome imo, cause g/s/c was my favorite generation. i still remember when i fought jasmine’s steelix and clair’s kingdra for the first time as a kid…:wow:
ahhhh…memories.
odin: yeah, draco meteor is a good replacement for DD. 140 base power and gets stab.
I never played gold or silver. Come to think of it, I don’t know the fucking difference between any of the games.
the difference is just that some pokemon are exclusive in each version. been that way since the beginning (ex. electabuzz exclusive to pokemon red, magmar exclusive to pokemon blue)
replacing DD with draco meter is definitely a good possibility, I like the DD on it still though mainly because I hate relying on gimmicks like rain dance, kingdra is kind of poor without the rain dance AND without DD. This way he has a bronzong that is useful in many ways(typing and stelath rocks) that can ALSO turn kingdra into even more of a moanster, and give his gengar the ability to thuder, but at the same time none of that team NEEDS to have the rain up to function.
Also I forgot hypnosis was 60, most of my group plays on the wii, battle revolution.
