UU is SOO fun now, the entire metagame is now a driven fast pace environement where people demand fast, deadly strikers. Walls are pretty much uncommon now with so many pokemon becoming more and more diverse, even in UU. Those revamps are the real deal
After playing somebody in UU some days ago, my houndoom swept his team after he was trying sponge me off with glaceon. He was like “I fled because there wasn’t anyway for me to get around Houndoom. The rest were basically walls. I got advice from a friend earlier talking about what UU battles are mainly made up of. Walls. I no longer believe such thing now after playing a couple battles this evening…”
Yeah, I agree. UU is great now. I was never interseted in it in the beginning, now that they went and “unbanned” lots of pokemon that shouldnt have been banned in the first place its GREAT. the unevolved forms make it really interesting as well…
I do find it fun mostly because like you said, theres a good balance between defense and offense. At first it did seem like defensive teams dominated, but thats only because walls have a better chance in UU because most of the hard hitters are banned.
And yeah, Houndoom… he’s definitely a beast. And he can give lots of defensive teams a lot of truoble. I have a wall oriented team in UU, and he’s my worst nightmare. Actually he causes problems for my offensive team as welll… maybe I should just recruit him
In OU people are tending to favor fast/deadly sweepers with high priority. S/R leads are in demand, one’s that can set up the stones quick and taunt foes (I’ve seen an increase in suicide azelfs and sashed aerodactyl). Spinners are hard to fit in teams now because more pokemon are getting diverse (actually they were always hard to fit on squads)
An example would be blissey, who’ve I’ve seen gengar’s explode on. Rotom forms just laugh at Scizor, I’ve seen some just stopped in his tracks.
UU is pretty much the same, S/R leads aren’t as common but the rocks still do go up. The thing about UU is more pokemon there got full revamped movesets, so you never know what you’ll be expecting there now.

You’ll be able to activate an event in HG/SS if you trade the Pichu to either game and get a Spiky-eared Pichu. :wow:

Oh yea it’s FAR worse now snugs. I remember when the Togekiss flinch set was pretty much a given, nowadays you don’t know what people are running on there kiss now. Now that Latias is OU that just adds yet another atker to the OU metagame, shit is wild :looney:
Yes and yes. :tup: IIRC the screens are bigger and brighter. You lose the GBA slot but that’s about it. Personally, I don’t even miss the GBA slot anymore.

I just bought a pre-constructed deck for no reason, and now I’m supposed to play some games with a girl who collects them this week, who also doesn’t know how to play. xD
I read the instructions that came with the cards and I guess it seems simple enough, but some things still confuse me. What the hell are prize cards? You put down six prize cards, then you pick one up every time you knock out an opponent’s Pokeyman. When you get all six you win. Sooo … do you just randomly pick the top six cards off your deck and put them down as prize cards? That’s the only thing that makes sense to me, but it seems kind of lame.
The entire match-up game seems weird to me too, since I’d assume you should only have 2 colors of energy max in one deck. So that gives you two types, and since attack types are determined by the Pokemon and not the actual moves, that means you’ll be able to SE damage two types, and you’ll be weak against two types. That seems random as fuck though. I have a Fighting/Ghost deck, so what if my opponent randomly had a Dark/Bug deck? I would be fucked. lol
