The OFFICIAL Pokemon thread ver 2.5

I suspect the Lat@s will stay uber, not sure how I feel personally.

I still don’t like skymin, I suppose on the one hand its usually not paralyzing you (togekiss) but its faster than a good amount of pokes naturally and resists most priority moves as well.

Ice shard?

Skymin voting has begun!

At the moment, it’s an even 25-25 split. Seems this is gonna be a close one…

So, I should be prepared to take down Scizor, Heatran, and Zapdos on just about every team.

And I heard people have been using Magnezone with speed EV’s invested out speed Scizor, since Scizor usually doesn’t invest much in speed, with HP Fire to kill Scizor. Then Substitute and Magnet Rise to deal with Heatran.

And what are some other Pokemon that can deal with Scizor, Heatran, and Zapdos?

Should have some sort of Choice user to take trick.
Is a tricking lead ever used?

Some way to kill new Rotom forme’s.

^ oh yeah zapdos is on every fucking team. I hate it. I swear i run 2 pokes on my team with toxic to bring that mofo down

But, any suggestions for dealing with Heatran and Scizor?
Those are th two that I’m having the most trouble with.

Zapdos is now frequent ever since it gained heatwave. I still think swampert has a shot of stopping it with phazing, Ice Beam and avalanche to use, immunity to T-bolt though it should be wary of HP grass. SS support can help wear it down as well or at the least stop lefties recovery.

Fuzzy - I’m looking at infernape and blaziken to stop scizor with a x4 resist to steel attacks and both have STAB fighting moves (fighting for heatran) and fire attacks to scare off scizor. certain bulky waters could stop heatran.

Someone posted a war story on Gamefaqs a while back. It was suppose to tell everyone how awesome Charizard is at stopping Scizor and setting up a sweep.

He came in on Scizors CB’d Bullet Punch, laughed with his steel resistance, and then subbed as he switched out and Belly Drummed. It was pretty cool.

But I think I’m going to put Infernape on my new Platinum team. And should I just use the basic mixed sweeper set?

I said MOST.
and I do so hate zapdos, but it’ll likely never get replaced as its the only electric naturally immune to ground, and anything like it will undoubtedly not be as good.

The Rotom forms are great at stopping Scizor, especially Rotom-H. Plus there’s Gyarados, Zapdos, Skarmory, Heatran (as long as it doesn’t Superpower on the switch), Magnezone (Ditto what I said about Heatran), etc.

Man, the Skymin vote’s still ridiculously close. 47-45 in favor of OU at the moment.

Those two are only 2x resistant to Steel attacks - Fighting types don’t resist Steel attacks.

IIRC, the types that resist Steel are Fire, Water, Electric and Steel.

Fuzzy, do you still have one of those Dragonite from last month? If so I’d like one please?

For Rotom Formes, should I go with Fire to stop Scizor, or Water to stop Heatran?

But either way, I’m going to have to wait until I can get Platinum itself to get a Rotom, since I plan on just Pokesaving most of these guys since I don’t really plan to bu Platinum right now. So non Platinum exclusive Pokemon are appreciated.

I plan to use a Trick Sub Porygon-Z also, since Porygon-Z is my favorite Pokemon.

So, right now my new Platinum team is going to look something like this

Infernape
Porygon-Z
A Bulky Water
Someone to take Trick
Something Bulky
Some sort of lead

Go with Rotom-H. A bulky water can stop Heatran well enough.

yeah I was thinking one pkmn but typed another one…Empoleon/Magnezone/Heatran are x4 resist to steel

Hey Guru, I still have it, I’ll get you one tomorrow, I’m doing some homework right now.
Gah, I wish I didn’t have to battle on Shoddy for use the new Rotom formes =/

Sounds good man.

Are there any replacements for Rotom-H for me to use if I don’t want to battle on Shoddy right now?

Guru, post in here when you want that Dragonite.

Are most Heatran still scarfed?

from what I see yes. though a good majority of them still run the usual:

Fire Blast or Overheat or Flamethrower or Lava Plume/HP Ice/Earth Power/Explosion maybe one attack is switched for Dragon Pulse but not so often.
