Crobat is the poke I think you’re referring to.
It’s because you can only breed to get 1 of them at a time.
So in other words the only way you’d be able to get both is if you hacked the poke??
Pretty much. With newer versions out stuff like that becomes available though, since Pokes’ Movesets change a bit with the different installments.
So… how far into the game (pokemon pearl) should I be before I start to battle people online? I just got the game a few weeks ago, after getting into the card game… I dunno, I thought I would try to be a part of this community here.
I wish Rock Head Aerodactyl learned Brave Bird.
ok late to the party but I’ll say this:
whenever you feel ready to play…is there anything you’d like to know? need a pkmn to trade for?
also I hope to get into online battles again within a week…but am trying to tweak new MS for plat.
ive been kickin the asses of japanese players on PBR with my team of 3 slowbros and 3 slowkings
I wish I had PBR, simply because the 3v3 format gives you a chance to be weird with your team. I’ve always wanted to use a Combusken in a match, but the only way I see that being viable would be in PBR. :\ I need a Wii…
heh, for me PBR’s most redeeming feature is that its pretty mcuh the easiest way to get a doubles battle going, seeing as how they arent supported by shoddy and noone plays them on DS.
and if you’re american and search for a doubles battle in the night time or morning time, the competition is REALLY good (japanese players, theyre good at doubles)
during the day the american players that play PBR are usually pretty bad, so yeah its more fun to just see what you can get away with…
you’re an ass
dude I sold my copy about a week after I got it…had you said something sooner I’d have sold it to you…I HATE 3v3 format…
man I try to get into it but…it doesn’t feel right…I’m not for sweeping speed suicide shit…meh to each his own…
you dont necesarilly have to run 3 sweepers in 3v3… i rarely do. ive had 30 minuite battles in that format, believe it or not. in some ways, not having to worry about such a 6 threats from the getgo lets you be a real ass with defensive strategies >=)
i myself prefer 6v6 greatly though, but because of the fact that because theres so many threats to account for, 3v3 is decided before the battle even begins, even moreso than 6v6. this is partly alleviated by the fact that in PBR you can see your opponents pokemon pool before you choose your 3, so you can strategize in that way
woulda been a lot better if they just had random 6v6 as an option though =(. PBR definitely dropped the ball, and its not really worth the retail prince of$50. the random battles and graphics make it fun to just screw around with though, with random doubles battles being the most redeeming feature (until shoddy offers them)
eh…I’ll never love 3v3 and PBR just fails me in many ways…the custom stuff I admit is what swayed me a bit to get it.
I wanted to discuss the fact that a lot of pkmn used a calm mind set but very few run bulk up sets. I wonder why it’s not done more? is it cause of swords dance uses and the lack of nasty plot users? choice items?
I wish I could battle people at work…but we got no WiFi (well no open ones that aren’t restricted to testing…)
calm minds usually used on one of two categories of pokemon:
-
They can take be trained to take physical hits very well, and have some nice special attacks, so with some calm minds they become gods. bonus points if they can recover. think suicune, jirachi, cresselia, slowbro, etc
-
they really just want to raise their special attack, but dont have access to nasty plot. like alakazam
so theoretically, a good bulk up pokemon would have to either:
-
take special hits very well, learn bulk up, and have good physical attacks. there arent many pokemon that fit this bill that i can think of, so this entire cateogry is out. Snorlax, regis, swampert and other pokemon have the stats to use this strategy but use curse instead of bulk up, since they dont learn bulk up
-
be mostly offensive, but have bulk up and dont have swords dance. there are a few like this, and this is where youre most likely to see bulk up on guys like machamp and granbull.
id say thats the reason
I just found my game, I beat it but why oh why is it so hard to catch a feebas?
It’s considered an “Ultra Rare” catch based off random battle encounters.
you may be better off trading for one…
I think I’m going to finish the regular game before I get into battles, some of the stuff you guys are talking about is a little over my head. I’m picking it up slowly but surely though.
Did any of you guys get that free Dragonite from Toy’s R Us? I picked it up and have been blowing through gym battles with it, and leveling up my low level pokemon.
That was this weekend? Damn =/
I’m amazed to see all you guys have kept up with this game. Probably have come so far from where you were before.
Anyways, nice to see that Garchomp was finally moved to uber. I don’t think I ran into many winning teams that didn’t have him on it. I know I didn’t run a team without him :S
Maybe I’ll go searching through my house for my DS and play a few games with some old-school teams.
PS - Dragonite is still the best dragon, don’t listen to what all the haters say.
How many events have there been since TRU Darkrai and Gamestop Deoxys?
