Apparently the black Pokemon Center Diamond/Pearl DS just got a reissue over here in the states. Shame I don’t play DS anymore because I’ve wanted it for a while.

What killed me is Gastrodon’s typing, I just think Water/Ground is too beastly in the OU metagame.

Pretty much just last week, and overall I’d say it was a dumb move (at least for the reasons given).
And deoxys speed form is currently in OU
Garchomp and Wobbuffet are still usable on Shoddy’s Official Server…though that’s pretty much the only place you can use them in OU now.
interesting, what reasons did they give for moving garchomp?
I heard stuff like SS priority, typing advantages, and how it is able to abuse everything it normally fights in OU.
hence why for the longest time I’d pack my Forretress to toss Toxic spikes from the stat and fight to make sure that land shark take it…it was the fastest and safest way for me to take it out.
seeing it banned to ubers basically dooms it forever now. up there it has to compete with the lati twins rayquaza giratina etc. also kyogre and groudon alter the weather up there so basically we’ve just gotten rid of garchomp forvere now. also I’m curious as to how much will people try to abuse DD outrage mence (hey it worked for me on D-nite). Speaking of D-nite…now with what Salamence learns…will the old dragon be forever obsolete now? :shake:
It learns Superpower and is sturdier, it has its place still.
I honestly don’t get all the hype from superpower, it’d be great if CC wasn’t around, but well cc is around.
Because most Pokemon don’t learn Close Combat. Simple as that.
Doesn’t help that its got the SR immunity, Garchomp just had too many advantages in the standard metagame. I agree, it’s fucked for life now. No way is it gonna beat Deoxys-A, Lugia, and some other note worthy individuals in the uber game. Salamence will soon follow, and at this point I like his chances better than Garchomp.
Dragonite is pretty much done at this point. Ever since Salamence MADE the scene it had lost that respect it once had back in R/B.
dragonite’s days as a DRAGON DANCER are finished
but like white shadow said, compared to salamence it still has better special defense (which is admittedly hampered by stelath rock), superpower, and a cool special movepool, which just will probably make it’s niche role even more pronounced. it also gets neat moves like thunder wave.
look at it is a bulkyish mixed attacker and wall breaker instead of as a DDer, and its suddenly not that bad. in fact, lack of a strong fighting move other than focus punch is just about all that stopped it from fulfilling this role before. look at those tytranitar sets that use substitute, focus punch, and two specail moves. dragonite fcan do the same thing now, without even needing to “waste” a slot on substitute!
its biggest problem now is stealth rock. using it over salamence as a dragon dancer before had SOME merit, but it was still ALWAYS kinda dubious with salamence having intimidate, higher base speed (letting you focus more on attack to partly make up for lack of outrage)
^ it has seen some uses before as a supporter having roost twave and heal beel in its movepool but yeah as an attacker he is dead. Even as a mixattacker salamence does a better job.
You can check netbattle for some games of RBY, GSC, and RSE, I think.
uh huh…sure it does :wonder: seriously bulky as it is so long as Ice beamers remain in the game, D nite won’t be able to pull off much now even with superpower.
the hype is strong for Bullet Punch Scizor…but will it live up to it’s hype? at least I can try to reuse my blaziken now that it gains STAB superpower and vacuum wave!
