well rash does give +sp. atk but - sp. def isn’t too good. Moltres’ defenses aren’t the greatest.
I didn’t even realize moltres was BL…

I plan on EVing its SD, it was the only way I couldn’t get modest.
And yeah, Fire/Flying is very poor typing. Could be the reason…

pokemon video vs Seven7…perhaps we all can assist him in stepping his game up!
Does anyone else have this problem?
You find a Pokemon with a decent nature in your PC, then you decide to find a EV spread, and Move-set, then you go out and EV it.
I’ve done this with so many random Pokemon in my PC, that I don’t think I will EVER use on a team. =l
well not being a vet I don’t know how much I can help but I inserted his team in this thingy that tells you which weakness your team has, and he has a lot of common weaknesses:
ice:
rhyperior
roserade
yanmega
ground:
rhyperior
houndoom
blaziken
flying:
blaziken
yanmega
roserade
I am not sure how bad a weakness to flying is, but with BoltBeam and EQ being very popular have that many common weaknesses is bad. Also, lose ember on houndoom. You already have flamethrower so having another fire attack isn’t a good idea.
as far as I know, ideally all 4 moves will be of different types, unless they do something different for instance having stealth rock and stone edge, they do two different things so that wouldn’t bad, but you don’t want to be redundant especially with something like ember since it is really weak
which pkmn? trust me…I’m looking around for new pkmn a lot to use that aren’t standard. hey I made use of Omastar when I was trying to find a role for it.
I found some modest Gastly in my PC from when I was bringing over TM’s from Fire-red, decided to just slap on a Choice Scarf on it and started EVing it.
Then I have several good natured Pokemon that I got when I was chaining and catching random ones. Then random GTS Pokemon.
Right now on the list to be EV’d are:
Choice Band Regigigas
Choice Specs Regigigas
Choice Scarf Roserade
SD passing Leafeon
Some sort of Torterra
Baton Pass Drifblim
Choice Band Salamance
"Mixed" Porygon-Z
Choice Scarf Infernape
Sometimes, but very rarely for me. That only really happened when I had to fill out my pokedex, whatever I caught that had a good nature got trained up from there.
Ok a few things:
Yanmega should be leading off over Rhypherior. Poor typing advantages plus everything in god’s name outspeeds him are the reasons why…Yanmega is one of the metagame’s best lead-offs that can not only scout teams but cripple them early on.
Houndoom could use a better moveset. Sunny Day takes care of Hailstorm plus boost flamethrower. It can use Solarbeam, and Dark Pulse for that last spots. He won’t try to switch in Abasnow because he’s x4 to Fire, and the stalling with protect won’t work in that case.
Heal Bell or some sort of team cure can rid the status effects of toxic pokemon.
Roserade can use HP Fire. I know HP’s are a pain to get, but it’s coverage is undeniably better than shadow ball.
Could use wall, somebody to soak up some hits. Rhy is kinda lazy at doing that since it has so many weaknesses.
in terms of fire pkmn…he should use either blaziken or houndoom. also wouldn’t it be easier for roserade to get weather ball?
He doesn’t need two fire pokemon on one team though. You and I both know Fire is poor typing in the metagame defensively, only one is really needed.
His team isn’t diverse enough, weather ball is nice to have for ice advantages…but with Roserade’s mediocre speed and HP it probably won’t survive in time for it to be used. If there’s no Ice Storm, W/B isn’t a threat. HP Fire has coverages for annoying steels, ice, and grass.
edit - opps I misread that as or from and :7
hey when are we going to battle lol?
Alright.
adjusts
Not a bad idea…maybe on the wall’s moveset?
Whouldn’t even know how to do that…it boggles the mind man…
Again, not a bad idea, Snorlax, Clefable, and Spiritomb look like beasts in the wall department, though I dunno if Spiritomb is supposed to be there or not…it stops my attacks atleast.
ponders…
edit: Thats the first time i’ve heard Dogfight in english…after listening to the japanese version for so long it sounds wierd. Not bad, just wierd. Know what I mean?
yep
Heal Bell OR that Auro something move cures all pokemon with status effects in the party. It’s useful sometimes, but it’s mainly used on a sponge like blissey or something because she can sacrifice the necessary turns for it.
His spiritomb is quite frail. Even with some EV’s it can’t take repetitive abuse. He added Calm Mind to unsure Spiritomb’s survival, so it’s best that you attack it rather quick with whatever strong moves you have available. If your Houndoom has Flash Fire you can lure his spiritomb into WoWing up your Sp Atk up.
If you have any choice items you should make use of them. Somebody like Houndoom would love coming in off that Bronzong Sunny Day with Specs/Scarf on. Remember thanks to the sun being strong Solarbeam cannot charge in one turn.
So blissey or clefable or something for a wall?
My houndoom has early bird. Which is still usefull. Knocks down sleep attacks a peg or two
So should Houndoom learn sunny day, or should I have a Bronzong on my team?
I think thats misworded. I’m pretty sure it can charge in one turn with sunny day.
Blissey for SpDef. Fits on any team - so does Bronzong (it lacks a good healing move though) If you are going to run a choice houndoom then a sunny day bronzong would be a good idea for it.
With two stabs and water/ground coverage, sunny day would be an idea last spot for it (without a choice item) or maybe WoW. I’d recommend the bronzong though, CS houndoom appears more dangerous. At least to me anyway…
Whoops yeah that’s what I meant. It’s 2am here :looney:
Whats WoW, and it’s 4 am here I don’t care.
Will O Wisp, it causes burn… but if houndoom has that ability then it gets a boost in its fire attacks
Flash Flare turns any fire move into a free boost for Houndoom. The idea with having WoW on Houndoom is to predict a switch and burn whoever comes in…or you can have HP Ice or something.
Houndoom has one of the worse defensive base stats in the world. Burning a phys. sweeper would be huge for it.
ohh… for some reason I thought he was talking about being hit by WoW… not using it… makes sense though…
I love houndoom…and maybe I should use it more often. my old set was the sunnybeamer set. Sunny Day/SolarBeam/Fire Blast/Crunch (though then crunch was special…so switch it now to Dark Pulse)
of course now i run a different setup. nasty plot of houndoom is nice and a good Hidden power can help ice or fighting are both good ones.
also your nature should be Modest or Timid.
I’m screwed, nature wise…though i’m satisfied with his preformance so far, so i’ll stick with cerberus. His new moveset is ready.
I think for now i’ll forgo a Bronzong, if only because i dunno what to do with it…
However, I now need to do some wall-breading…any ideas/recomendations…please…I really don’t wanna breed…oh well…
