the guide says to lower the pokemon’s HP and then catch it, any status effects will aid the capturing…however–

have you tried some quick balls as soon as the battle begins?
also, what are you using the damage it? I think false swipe is like the standard thing for catching pokemon since it will leave them with 1 hp… I think people use a smeargle with false swipe, spore/thunder wave, recover(for stronger pokemon) and maybe mean look though I don’t know if moltres will try to run. it should be pretty good at catching pokemon
if anything… breed something that has endeavor, so you have a level 1 pokemon with like 12ish hp with endeavor. give it a focus sash, and it should live long enough to use endeavor (which brings the enemies hp to be equal to the pokemon who uses it). then switch something in status it up and catch it…
EDIT: actually I just realized that what I posted was for catching pokemon in D/P so I am not sure if any of it will help you at all…
anyhow, did anyone see the stuff on the front page of serebii? they have scans from famitsu of shaymin’s sky form and some new info on Platinum:
* Shaymin will automatically convert to Sky Forme when sent over to Platinum and will stay Land Forme on Diamond & Pearl
* The Torn World, positioned above the Spear Pillar, really utilises the 3D engine of the game and has the lands in a 3D isometric view
* There are various other new areas positioned in Sinnoh for you to exploreHm no actual battle engine improvements yet, I’m still on the fence until then.
Hell, just make Regigigas not a piece of shit with an alternate form and I might consider it.

Also its funny because my Marowack LEARNS false swipe yet I didn’t add it to his move pool. He has Double Edge, EQ, Rock Slide, and Boomerang Jolly Nature (at the time I wanted Adamant, but I got tired of catching Cubone in the Lavender Tower - and the ones I DID catch that were adamant, had Lighting-rod :sad:)
I was forced to re-catch Zapdos over and over because I could never get modest. I was watching the damage ratios carefully because I wanted that damn nature. I made a mistake by using my Master Ball on a weakened Zapdos do to frustration - and it turned out to be modest which made me very pissed. :mad: So I kept it in hopes of getting HP Ice, but for some reason it’s HP Dragon and I’m not good with figuring out HPs
What I normally do is use Magneton to paralyze then weaken it the best I can. I think sleep works better than paralyzed, but I don’t really know.
so tempted to do standup at the next convention and talk about pokemon in my jokes.

Hmm looking at Pkmn Platinum stuff…Sky form Shaymin? bleh…no longer cute looking. Also is this is sky form…does that mean it’s now grass flying? I hope not cause then that doesnt help it in battle now… though assuming that it’s now Immune to Ground resist to fighting and neuteral to bug…with a 2x weak to rock/4x to ice and now neuteral to elec.
Ephidel - if you can…try to trade for a better moltress…what does rash nature do?
