Well Pokemon Platinum has now been announced, let’s hope its improvements will actually be based less on aesthetics and more on fixing the imbalanced gameplay.
If they seriously don’t have any new tutor moves that make sense or even the most minor improvement to the battle system it’ll be the first time where I haven’t bought a Pokemon RPG. I’m sick of their willful ignorance.
Id you don’t mind me asking, what is imbalanced about the gameplay? I am not trying to argue, I just don’t really battle that much yet, so I have no idea why it is imbalanced

I don’t know where to start or where to end.
Overabundance of Spikes/Stealth Rock and a lack of spinners. Stealth Rock’s dominance on not only weaker pokemon but pokemon with typing that gives them a 50% HP loss just for switching in.
Sandstorm abuse and Sand Stream’s unbalanced permanence making it one of the most domineering team formats available. Gotta love that 50% SP.DEF boost too.:bluu:
These are just the few things that polarize the metagame too much.
the fact is, there are like 50 viable pokemon or so in the OU metagame.

This seriously pisses me off at times. There are only 7 rapid spinners in the entire game, and some pokemon get screwed over strictly because of Stealth rock. Stealth Rock is probably the main reason why Charizard is BL. Moltres, Articuno, Yanmega ,and the list goes on.

ohh… I never knew how much people used stealth rock/spikes. I am glad I have a spinner, but damn only 7? that is pretty shitty
well at this point as you and I have discussed, gamefreak will not admit it’s mistakes and instead add more shit to try to balance what they alreay have done…at the least they should try to have a rapid spin move tutor and open up the spinner to several more pkmn.
still…we can all hope it can get better…
If there was a Rapid Spin Tutor or if Defog actually took away Stealth Rock I’d definitely reconsider getting Platinum, otherwise it’d be like playing the same shit with a shinier cartridge, whoopty freakin’ doo.:rolleyes:
