This could, in theory, make Alakazam somewhat more of a threat because if a counter switches in they would get guard swap’d and receive it’s horrible defenses. Zam would still have that horrible Hp stat. The opponent will have to Switch out because it would not be able to take an attack from Alakazam’s massive S. Attack. Could this be viable or is this too much of a gimmick?
There are indeed aspects to the game that pokesav cannot teach. It can only help you prepare for war, not win it. That is up to the trainer, knowing when to switch and predict, etc.
Of course, if you are facing somebody new then the advantage is surely yours. Even skilled players lose with pokesav because the game is so deep and complex with hax. The slightest thing that may go wrong could ruin your entire strategy resulting into you getting swept.
Copy and pasted from above. I think you’ll need the AR device though.
Pokesav allows you to do pretty much anything within the game. You can make pokemon with any move/abilities/IVs/EVs/etc you want. Although we stick to legal movesets and theoretically obtainable stats around here. You can also change your trainer IDs, name, sprite, give yourself every item x999, max money, etc. It’s pretty convenient and a huge time saver. As Ephidel said, it can take months to breed a team and then you’ll just get countered and need more pokemon.
yeah despite what smogon has stated on their site, I think they’re too afraid to show more gimmicky sets that have potential. a lot of moves go unused and in certain situation can save you. aside from that move, My cresselia (whom some of you have faced) uses Psycho shift…that have helped me out a lot on WiFi. also White Shado began poitning out Torment as an underused move. also I’m starting to experiment with Worry Seed.
Oroman: Too much of a gimmick. Trick is really all you need to trap blissey, and Kazam doesn’t have the HP to sustain many hits. You should focus more on his outstanding speed and special atk, maybe give him some specs for that extra ooof!
You could go like:
Psychic
Energy Ball/Grass Knot
Focus Blast
Trick
W/specs you can trap blissey upon mere prediction or have a scouter handy to scout.
yeah this is the reason why i quit playing, to much hacked pokemon while i was using the ones i found or bred put me at huge disadvantage, just no contest anymore. couldn’t even kill one of their pokes, and i just suck.
One year ago today, most of us got this game. Oh the memories…
Can someone test if Iron Fist would boost the power of Shadow Punch (Pokesav required obviously). It’d be cool if some Fighting pokemon learned that move :wonder:
Also for those with Pokesav, have you hacked a crazy Pokemon i.e. Illegal movesets/abilities and whatnot? Until now I haven’t done so. I’m going to hack a Hitmonchan with Shadow Punch but I also want to make something crazy but I can’t think of anything good right now :wonder: Any ideas?
