the collection is great, i think the only thing they did to be buttholes was not add netplay to the collection, so if for some reason you wanted to play golden ax with other bros you cant via collection
that’s true… that would be a good reason for using the individual games…
but as for playing with bros… I don’t play games with bros.
Funny thing about Vanilla DMC3, I remember my friend had shown me the code that lets you unlock different versions of Dante at the character select screen. Bear in mind i had just bought the game, so once i used that code, it made the game pretty easy. Honestly the game was only hard up until Cerebrus, after that it was cake.
PSN interview with SKill
Agreed, and I do own the Genesis collection ;3 I need to let my nephews play it more though, they’ve taken a liking to Streets of Rage.
I’m thinking of copping this collection…is it good for someone who’s never played the series story wise?
Yeah, it’s all you need.
Honestly, MGS1 is fantastic and I’m sad to see it not included, but 2 is great if you get passed the whole Raiden naked in the subway thing, and 3 is FOREVER… MGS4 was a movie that required some interaction… so yeah.
I like that they’re including the PSP version… Peace Walker is fantastic as well.
I got MGS1 off PSN months ago, will fire it up by the time the collection comes out to get ready for them \m/
…and IMO MGS4 is a great movie.
raiden naked was the best part, no homo
also you wanna talk about scary games? (mr dead space 2 demo guy) mgs2 scared the shit outta me. I was like 13/14 I think when I first played it. Anyone who has played the game, im pretty sure you know which part im talking about lol
No clue which part you’re talking about… I was about 16 when the game came out, I think, but 17 when I played it first… 13 when MGS came out on PSX…
I will say, that being 13/14 when I played MGS, Psycho Mantis knowing that I played Suikoden and Castlevania freaked the living shit out of me.
This part!
Yeah… that part was meh to me… Didn’t get spooked by it at all honestly… I forgot about it…
I WAS YOUNG! I didnt see all those scenes but at one point i did keep activating it and he stared at me making some weird loud noise, i tripped out
Well yeah… I don’t blame you for it… I look at the whole Psycho Mantis thing or the fact that when I was 11, I jumped behind my couch when that dog jumped into the window in Resident Evil 1, pulling the PSX pad with me, the PSX off the stand, and breaking it… Yeah.
Catherine , Heavy Rain (and if you haven’t played it then L.A. Noire) are worth it if you want to play games that aren’t stale and are just really great experiences. RnC and Sly are must-buys from the kids on here so if you are into that then I can’t see why not. Dead Space 2 has gotten mixed reviews from everyone who played and MK is just one of those things you can’t tell to get/ not get. That one is really a personal preference.
But I will say this, the best possible option is to rent which ever/ all of them first then based of YOUR STANDARDS, decide on what to own.
Man, that part in Resident Evil when the dog jumps through the window scared me as well. I didnt yank my controller or anything but it did make me jump. I thought that was really cool.
The only other game I have played that creeped me out was Dead Space. Not the bad guys or anything they do to try and surprise you but the damn atmosphere and the sound really creeped me out. I stopped playing that shit. I vowed to play it again, just during the day when The Wife is home. Yeah im a big ass, dripping puss.
Heh in FF9 I would always be scared the frack out by the Red Dragons suddenly crashing in to attack you in the Gulag Mountain. Even if I KNEW which rooms they’d appear in, they still scared me XD.
Speaking of Final Fantasy, when my cousin first saw Aenima summon from FFX, he flipped the shit out… he was 2.

Can’t blame the poor little fella, that thing is nightmare fuel…when used for nightmare fuel purposes.
i didn’t find DMC3 really hard at all. The challenge was pretty perfect up until DMD mode when it just got tedious and boring. i had a shit load of time into DMC1 at that point tho. THAT game broke me in when it came to hard as balls action games. I think I was stuck on Phantom 1 for like 2 fuckin days. DMC3 is childs play next to DMC1 when your new to action games. I find DMC1 to and NGB to be better, more challenging experiences compared to DMC3. Bayonetta goes up there with DMC1 and NGB as well.
I dunno in the long run DMC3 is pretty over rated for me. It’s a great game but there are quite a few action games i not only find harder and more challenging, but just better over all as well. God Hand comes to mind as well.
I’m the same with Dead Space. It never really scares me but the tension and atmosphere are so fucking thick i have to shut it off after about an hour because it wears me out. I really love it but the game does drain me. I haven’t finish the first one yet so i dunno about the second one. Couple friends I trust say it’s pretty damn awesome tho.
