The Official PLAYSTATION® Thread: E3 - PS4 Pro November 10th $399

Niqqa, I am in a community for competitive Mass Effect. I am in a community for competitive capcom titles. Therefore I do not care if people want that EA Dong (Its in the game!) and like it. But if it something that adversely affects the community, it ain’t something I am going to stand behind.

And I won’t buy an EA game.

Ever.

I thought I’d said that already…

guess who doesn’t like DLC either…?
Former employee calls out Capcom DLC methods | PlayStationBeyond
"Totally agreed. RT @PrCat88: Sounds more like a scam if game content is intentionally withheld simply to squeeze more money out of a product

— 神谷英樹 Hideki Kamiya (@PG_kamiya) March 5, 2012"

I really don’t need to say much after this.

Nothing needs to be said, shit is a dead horse 10 times over.
They will not stop, only change the perception and then will it be okay?
I can count the DLC of all the games I bought on one hand probably, and I own over 100 PS3 games.
Borderlands bundle, all packs.
Battlefield Bad Company Vietnam

Look at that, didn’t even need the whole hand.
If it ain’t worth it to you, don’t buy it, if it’s worth it, buy it.

I was under the impression that you hated SFxT with a passion. :coffee:

fuckin’ Kamiya!

Yeah, I need to see more hate directed at other companies and even MvC3/UMvC3. Those games basically did the same thing, but I didn’t see any boycotting or as many tears when those games were released. All of the UMvC3’s DLC is on-disc, all the outfits, Jill and Shuma, etc.

Uncharted 3, some other recent Sony games(Twisted Metal, Resistance 3) and a bunch of EA/THQ games completely lock out 1/2 off the game(multiplayer) if you didn’t buy the game new, and if you bought used, you’re forced to buy a “unlock key” to have multiplayer work. Basically, a lot of companies have been doing this kind of shit and even worse, but yet, you guys for the most part seem to not notice or give a fuck until now when it’s a game you actually care about. Regardless of this, I guarantee whoever is on my PSN that’s boycotting this shit on this site will be playing this day 1.

The PSN/XBLA Castlevania game has so much DLC that to buy it all would cost you 8X the price of the original game. The original game is also severely lacking in content(on purpose) so you’d buy some of the DLC. The DLC for the most part are extra characters and stages. I’m pretty damn sure all of these things are in the original download and when you buy the “unlock key” it’s just a 100KB file that lets you access something you otherwise couldn’t, even though you basically own it in the first place. Contra: Hard Corps does the same when it comes to characters, and a shitload of other companies and games do the same thing Capcom is doing right now, with some other examples being in this thread already with Atlus games.

I guess what I’m trying to say is, Capcom isn’t the only company that is greedy and is trying to fuck over its consumer. I suppose Capcom is in the sights now because they’ve been doing this since the first revision of SFII on SNES/Genesis from back in the day and slowly but surely consumers are realizing it more and more and are getting salty about it.

You’re damn right. They needed to focus on making a good game first before shoehorning in multiplayer. Y’know, a good story, likable characters, good gameplay, believable animations instead of the PS1-era shit that’s in the game. Things like that. Mass Effect has none of these things and is the most overrated “AAA” series of games I’ve played this gen next to Call of Duty and Fallout 3.

I was about to say the same thing, Bayonetta had alternate costumes & unlockable character all in the same box from launch.

So his word is golden imo.

Absolutely.

That, and he actually makes good, oft times great, games.

I’m still waiting on his next big hit. >_> Guess you can’t rush genius…

Also, I absolutely LOVE all of these people arguing against others complaining about shady DLC practices with the argument that “complaining won’t make it go away.”

Really?

What will?

Silence?

Acceptance?

Fuck’s sake.

No, complaining just makes them find a way to hide it. You will get the game and have an immediate 4GB patch.
How much has accepting it so far, cost you Clu?
It cost me about $30 this generation.

Hilarious!
Fuck N4G & Fuck PSBeyond

So what happened?

Did they lie, or take it out of context, or is he now lying HIS ass off in order to run damage control?

Nada.

Unless you count the whole “death and loss of one of my favorite hobbies” thing as a loss.

They took out of context.

Here was the order of tweets

I do not see how it is out of context.

…but I’m only reading the links - maybe if one has twitter it comes up more sensible?

No just U.S. dollars.
I bought AE edition DLC too, not the disc, so that’s 3.

Clu, so the DLC shit ain’t hurting you one bit, like COD map packs ain’t hurting me.

You can click his profile, and then his time line will come up, you don’t need a twitter account.

It is hurting my hobby. It is changing the way games are made, so they are no longer complete games, like last gen, but part games, with companies charging more for a whole game. It is changing the very parameters of what is considered acceptable as a game.

And monkey journalists and hype trains, and trend hoppers are all trying to program the new gen of gamers (and succeeding) as well as the rest of us (mixed results) into accepting this as just.

It isn’t.

It is fucking greed.

But no - it isn’t hurting me.

It is merely forcing my hand, ethically, to give up a long held hobby.
