The Official PLAYSTATION® Thread: E3 - PS4 Pro November 10th $399

I picked up a shitload of games today, a lot of deals were going on.

Rage(30$)
Dead Island(30$)
Warhammer: Space Marine(30$)
Dead Rising 2: Off the Record(20, FRANK WEST BABY!)
Fist of the North Star: Ken’s Rage(15$)
Mindjack(10$)

I heard Mindjack wasn’t that good but at that price I’m willing to see for myself. I’m pretty fucking hyped, I think my Uncharted 3 playthrough is gonna have to wait, though I’m about half way through that game. I’m gonna try out Warhammer or Dead Rising first I think, I want to play the shorter games first. Now along with some other games I got semi-recently, I have a “backlog” and goddamn am I ever looking forward to it. Here’s to 2012, hopefully the world doesn’t end so I have time to play these awesome games!

Yeah man, PC games be hella cheap between Steam & Amazon’s downloads.
I’ve been stocking up and building a PC backlog.

@sonicabid- I would recommend finishing UC3 first, it’s not a good idea to leave some games half complete and finish them off months or weeks later >_<
I suggest starting with Mindjack and see whether you’ll like it or not.

Or better yet, play half the game and youtube the rest!

Hey Whitey - when are you gonna stream, again?

I think my PS3 is dead. Was playing some SF when it turned itself off all of a sudden and now it just flashes with a red light in front. It was the 80gig backwards compatible model too…

I’ve been waiting for Ico/SotC to hit $20. It finally has

And my closest Kmart is sold out…

I’ll be watching amazon today to see if they go to $20. Does anyone know if it’s possible to alert them so they can price match it?

Damn, how many models of those are left?
Fuckin’ model is dying left and right from everyone, I’m hearing.

I got that model as well, still working but I don’t know for how long :o

I don’t know but I’m really fucking pissed and I refuse to give Sony $160 to repair it so they can send me a refurbished piece of shit. My fucking Dark Souls data better not be gone.

Not gonna help you now, but that’s one of the reasons why I feel that Plus is invaluable.

Talk to the guys at Gophermods.com. I’ve never used them personally, but lots of people praise them in here. I think their price runs around $50 and you get your system back with all your data.

Yeah but how long do the repairs last? I’ve heard only 5 or so months and that’s not good enough for me. Some schmuck I called wanted $89 for it.

It really depends on how well you take care of it after the fact…even Gophermods say that the repairs aren’t permanent if you play it like you used to.

This is why I bought mine from Target.

They offer a 3 year extended warranty for $29.99.

When mine croaks, all I’ve got to worry about is having a game stuck up inside of there.

All I play is SF and some Dark Souls. I’ve always kept it in a well vented area too. I don’t leave it on all day either. I’ve treated this thing with so much care. Oh and yeah my damn SF disc is stuck in there now.

How long did you have your PS3. I think my brother’s PS3 is near its end.

At least it was SF and not DS.

Is it Super?

If so, that’s like $10

Yeah. I’m thankful Dark Souls isn’t stuck. I’ve had the thing for like 4 years now.

For Christmas my cousin got me a $50 PSN card and I used it on 3SO, the Super and Ultra costume packs for SSFIV, and Red Dead Redemption + Undead DLC and all that other stuff (so basically GOTY).
Using my other cousin’s credit card I used the PS+ 30 day trial codes from my email and RDR came with a discount bring it down to about $24.
It was either that, or Mass Effect 2 for $20 (no discount here). ME2 seems like the game I would like more, reminds me of Deus Ex, one of my favorites, but the idea of a sandbox game appealed to me since I could keep playing the game for a reaaally long time. I still do want ME2 though :frowning:

Anyway, for those codes for PS+, you might wanna know that unless you cancel the trial at least a day before it expires, it’ll extend your membership for 3 more months without your permission taking these funds from either your PSN Wallet, or, if funds are insufficient, your credit card account itself. To be safe I deleted the billing info and am planning on deleting my membership soon since all I wanted with it was the discount, but as mentioned previously the uploading saved data feature seems invaluable to those who fear their system crashing.

Oh, and with the leftover like 50 cents I got a Gouken avatar, lol.

I also want UC3, big fan of the Uncharted series but the price is too high for that now. $60 for a new game is seriously way too high. It should never be higher than like $40 for a new game.

When you agree to the T’s & C’s, you grant them your permission to renew after the trial unless you explicitly advise otherwise. The same as any other auto-renewing membership in the world.
Most people that bite on PSN+ that I’ve spoken with think that the thing pays for itself anyway, especially if you get one of the specials where they throw in a couple extra months.

You might even be able to cancel it on the same day and still have your thirty days be valid, and they’ll never have the opportunity to charge your card. I’m not 100% on that though. It may be something you want to look into if you’re worried about it.

After seeing the big asterisk by “FREE” in the email I went to see the footnote it referred to, it being

Also, when redeeming the codes, I distinctly remember them mentioning that if funds were insufficient in the wallet, which they would be, that it would come out of the credit card account itself. Since the card wasn’t mine I didn’t wanted to risk incurring any trouble on the part of my cousin who lent me his info for the purpose of redeeming the codes.

I suppose I could review the Terms and Conditions once more, to see if I could find a way for it to not renew automatically without prompting me, but I already have planned to preemptively forego the whole ordeal so I think I’m fine here.

In any case, just giving a heads up so ya’ll can be wary of any shadowy deductions you didn’t ask for. Thanks anyway.

The email also came with two extra 30 day trial codes for “two friends” which I have no use for since I doubt any of my PS3 owning friends would like it or got one already. Anybody can ask me if they want a code since I’m not doing anything with it. They’re valid for use until March 31 2012.
