omg you just mentioned Shadow Hearts, I aint even mad anymore <3
Id pay so much for a HD collection ( I have original copies) and yeah, Yuri is a certified badass. Id like for Koudelka (sp) to hit the ps store, I never got to play it and thats the prequel to shadow hearts
Is your PS3 backwards-compatible? If so, get the first two at least, as they’re two parts of a whole, story-wise.
With PS2 Classics a thing now, there may be a chance to see the Shadows Hearts games for download. I’m sure that they can get on if even more obscure things like God Hand and Odin Sphere have.
Quite possibly. I usually use it when referring to things that are intentionally wacky, in a “it’s so meta, you wouldn’t understand” sort of way. Interior semiotics comes to mind. That’s the same level that I find a lot of the “niche” shit in the games I was referring to - intentionally awkward and with not nearly as much deeper meaning as the fans like to claim there is (but can’t explain).
That’s why I usually just go with, “they’re not for me,” and agree to disagree. You won’t find me trying to change the world
Reading Stabby’s post, I know Persona 3 is one of the worse RPGs out there, but people are always telling me to play 4 because it makes up for how bad 3 was.
Maybe… maybe by playing Persona 4, it was cure the thing in my brain that made me a total ass hat that Persona 3 has caused.
Shadow Hearts 3 has the best combat, but everything else is way worse. Almost all the characters are bad, and the plot is stupid. Also, by best I mean more balanced so it isn’t Yuri wiping the floor with everything-- so the things that are too good (witch) make the game ridiculous.
Also, Shadow Hearts 1 is kind of bad. It was originally developed as a PSX game that they switched to PS2 really late in development, and it shows. But the story is interesting IMO. Shadow Hearts 2 is a true PS2 game, and the jump in quality is bigger than Uncharted 1 to Uncharted 2. Probably one of the biggest jumps of all time.
Except Lolipop Chainsaw looks to not think of itself as deep in any kind of way. Instead it’s silly, goofy homage to silly, goofy grind house/zombie films, just like Shadows of the Damned…
