Iām still waiting for parts to come in actually. My ram comes in this week and my new processor is coming in early next week. Iāll be posting the new specs and pics as soon as I finish building the whole thing. Itās just taking way longer than I expected.
I like the Phantom 410 (looks very Mass Effect-y), except for that door which is a bit hard to open sometimes because you have to press hard in the mid right. BTW why donāt you mount the PSU with the fan pointing down so you can route the 8-pin cable to the back (although it looks long enough in that power supply tbh)
I agree about the door. When I first tried to open it, I thought it was defective. I have quickly gotten accustomed to it. As for the PSU, this is the best orientation for it to receive proper airflow. I may try to route the 8-pin through the rear, but I donāt think it will be long enough.
This is the largest mid-tower case I have ever worked with. A buddy of mine has the full-tower version of the Phantom and itās a beast!. I absolutely hated the Phantomās until I was able to view and feel the quality of it in person. My cell phone pics really donāt do it justice.
Itās in your desk anyway and there is enough clearance at the bottom. From your system, you arenāt really drawing enough from your power supply to warrant a lot of cooling, plus any decent PSU is rated to have that efficiency at 50C.
Relatively decent gaming PC for parent? Interesting. Well, whatever she uses it for, I hope she doesnāt hide it under a desk, those NZXT cases are nice and are meant to be seen.
I believe the tower is a statement, NZXT proves that even moreso. No longer is a tower confined to be that ugly white or black box under your desk. If I had nicer hardware, I would liquid cool my PC, just to make a little different and that much more unique. I find that the plumbing makes them look better and adds character.
Weāre actually going shopping for a desk when I arrive. She is wanting to get one with a frosted glass top, but weāll have to be sure it is sturdy enough to handle the weight. We may have to get a separate unit to hold the tower next to the desk, but it is most definitely going to be in an easily viewable location.
Finally got the last parts in. Today and tomorrow Iāll be putting the whole thing together. Iām putting my old specs and new specs to show just how drastic the change is. A month ago I was rocking this piece of shit:
i945 motherboard
Pentium D 3ghz processor.
2 gigs of DDR2 Ram
Geforce 7300gt
LG dvd drive
250 gig Sata hard drive
And now:
P6t deluxe V2 motherboard
i7 920 (2.66ghz) processor
6 gigs of DDR3 1333 Ram
Antec Kuhler h20 620 liquid cooling system
Dual SLIād GTX 280
2 250 gig data drives (SSD incoming in a month or so)
Samsung blu ray drive
multiple card reader
azza triton 401 case.
Iāll post pics later when Iām done building the thing.
Nice case! I am too lazy to get my HTPC build going but I do have the parts except for the case and remote. Harmony One remotes are too damn expensive Anybody have them? Are they worth it?
I had a Zotac ZBOX going for a while but I donāt like the netflix interface in XBMC. The netflix interface built into my Sony hdtv is actually better. Also, I would like to game in the living room so Iāll probably throw in a decent card in there for 1080p gaming.
Hello i just got some extra cash (scratch off tickets FTW) and im looking to treat myself good with a kickass gaming rig :).
Im a total noob with pc stuff so i wanna know if this is a good choise http://www.jimms.fi/tuote/JIMMS-LEGEN-BEAST
Is it good? I wanna game at max performance and maybe stream etc.
The site is in Finnish but the parts are the same in every language no?
