I mean if you liked NHL09 its pretty much the same with some new things. The GM mode is pretty cool, but theres only ONE fucking achievement for it.
All of those dumbass glitches being taken out is enough for me.
I fucking hated when the score was 0-0 then alls of a sudden the guy just uses the curve shot on me or the wrap around to five hole. Eventually I had to gain the mentality that everyone I went against was a fucking glitcher. I made it into the 6000’s in ranked, but eventually I just got fed up. The higher you go the better they are glitch goaling
Dunno, played like 8 games of BAP with my Club, ran into 3 teams that tried to 09 their way to wins… and it worked. The AI is fucking retarded.
09 in terms of glitch goals?

I’ve seen some really stupid shit, off a pin straight into a bullet that goes through the goalie.
Just the typical scrubs going deke 5 hole cross crease.

I’m amazed I dont see any user-goalies out there. also, I missed out on NHL 09 (Its the only one I missed from 93-now), so, forgive me for sounding n00bish, but 09ing/glitch goals? And they’re still there?
User goalies in 09 were useful for stopping glitch goals in EASHL(If anybody was dumb enough to use them), but as far as stop random shots, I think AI>Human controlled goalie. In the crease as a human controlled goalie, is super hard to stop shots.
But the AI Goalie is still susceptible to stupid goals, like Deke once(Left), Deke once(Right), shot. That’s pretty much an instant goal on a goalie, and they’re too dumb to adjust, and realize that you’re scoring the same way over and over.
Glitch goals from 09 were the:
Curve shot- Drag puck behind you while moving in another direction. Shoot in the opposite direction that you are moving- [media=youtube]TPJYxVDtHDY[/media]
Wrap around to five hole- When you are behind the goal, and shoot the player will go into an automatic animation, where they wrap around the goal and try to shoot it in. IIRC, you were supposed to hold the sticks in the opposite direction and then shoot. It’ll go through the goalies leg everytime. [media=youtube]NgRArB4BzKw[/media]
The Goal line shot- Shot from an impossible angle, pretty much parallel to the goal line. It’s done in the same manner as the curve shot except right on the goal line.
The backwards shot- Hold L to skate backwards, line yourself up with the goalie, rip- [media=youtube]IGoVj5rZVIE[/media]
There was also of dumb glitches where you could do 1 handed dekes behind the goal and the goalie would fall for no apparent at all.
Ummm 3-0 glitch. Your opponent could quit, and it would then give you the loss. And the pause glitch, which at the end of the game your oppenent would pause the game and make it freeze. You’d be screwed out of a win
The game was fucked up. I really didn’t learn how broken the game was until I got into higher level play

They aren’t in NHL 10 thankfully, but sooner or later somebody will discover something.
NHL 09 had glitches that they didn’t fix from NHL 08, so that game was fucked to begin with

edit - my biggest complaint so far is how dumb the AI goalies are. If they play the puck behind the net they
- fumble it
- cycle it to the opposing team
- attempt to pass it and let it continually hit the net
They don’t chase down pucks, especially if your team is on the PP, your goalie will not come out of the net to stop the puck, so now you have to spend few seconds retrieving it.
You know how goalies raise their arms up to signal for icing right? I’ve had the puck sail right in for a goal because the AI is awesome. On dump-ins, they don’t attempt to really stop those either if they’re aimed at the net.
LOL the PC version of 09 that I have, a LOT of times if I got a faceoff on the right side of the attacking zone (goalie’s left side), I could win the faceoff, quickly pass it to my left defender, skate up a bit to make the goalie move a bit to his right, and slap shot the puck into the other side of the net. I scored so many times that way it wasn’t funny.
