The Official NFL Offseason Thread: JPP blows contract thanks to fireworks stupidity. #spiritfingers

Over/Under 50% of the MNF broadcasts talking about Ray Rice.

Over.

They’re talking about the nigga on ESPN right now as if he died or something.

Not sure if I understand this, what did NFL suspend Ray Rice for if they did not see the video? Hearsay?

Wait…these fucking Ravens don’t have the audacity to do a Press Conference in the middle of the first MNF game of the year do they?

They need to throw his ass in the Federal Reserve and throw away the key.

there was a video outside the elevator that was released before, they based the punishment on that video originally. all u could see back then was him dragging her out…but im like wtf? i mean if he is dragging her out, CLEARLY he knocked her the fuck out, so i dont see why they are in a upraor now just because they see the actual hit, did you not know he K.O.ed her before???

I think they were hoping, “Oh well maybe he just like bumped into her when the earthquake hit and shook the elevator and didn’t do it on purpose. It looks bad so let’s cover our ass and suspend him, kthx.”

It was a matter of him claiming self-defense and Janay saying that she played a part in what happened. Due to that, even though it’s obvious what’s happened, you can’t go with a full blast punishment as you don’t have enough concrete evidence to go your way.

Now that’s all out the window. Of course again, if they had seen the real video before, Goodell will not be having a job at the end of this.

Allegedly, the NFL never went to the casino where this took place to get that video. Seems like a bit of sweeping under the rug.

Weren’t both Ray and Janay Rice were charged for assaulting each other?

I wouldn’t be surprised if the casino refused to give the tapes to the NFL because a media outlet may be willing to pay a lot for the footage. Also the complete video may not have been accessible to the NFL and the Baltimore Ravens because the footage was going to be used for the trial.

Maybe the complete video wasn’t made public by any of the outlets but already shown to the judge and jury which lead upgraded the assault to a felony?

Also didn’t the owner of the casino threaten to fire an employee for supposedly “leaking” the elevator footage a few months ago?

Edit: I don’t think the NFL wanted to take part in the legal side of Ray Rice and his wife because it didn’t pertain to football. The NFL should still be held accountable for the actions of their players and the players image during the off season.

The NFL and the NFLPA need to get together ASAP and make more severe punishments of domestic violence a part of the CBA and standard league policy.

whatever that employee made from tmz was worth getting fired for then

Its a Casino, its all about making the money, of course they sold it to TMZ, they looked at Ray Rice as a guy who dropped a million on the tables and lost. TMZ either waited to show it till after week 1 or the casino all of a sudden had it for sale as his 2 weeks was almost up.

Shit they have bought pictures for like half a mill +, I’m sure this was a easy Million Dollars for the casino owner.

Also I have a stupid but curious question for the NFL , what happens if Micheal Sam hits his man ? Is that gonna count as domestic violence if he puts his hands on a guy ?

And Boom goes the Megatron

MEGATRON!!! wow

Look at Megatron shitting on all those Mini-cons

So TMZ intentionally sat on the footage until after Ray Rice’s suspension was over. :coffee:

And again Megatron. Rice’s suspension is still ongoing btw.

If that were the case they would’ve waited one more week, his suspension wasn’t up until after Week 2.

It’s likely that TMZ certainly couldn’t get a hold of the video as it was used for a criminal trial. Once it got wrapped up it became open season.

Lions fan checking in so I don’t get accused again of joining a bandwagon. All these penalties…should be a solid year now that we have Tate. We just have to make sure not to keep playing like the Lions and all will be good.
