The OFFICIAL NFL 2010-11 Thread (including SRK Fantasy League)

Game 6 is eagles vs falcons. I won’t watch that game. Mike is going to throw for 350 and run for 100 on the falcons. Mike VICK>kolb and it ain’t even close! I wish we had mike back.

but what about the Lions, Browns, Bills, Seahawks, Chargers? At least the Eagles went to the Superbowl and have had winning seasons. Chargers and Seahawks are just as inept at winning the big one as Philly.

I have mad respect for Lions fans. I cant imagine what its like being in their fanbase.

I think philly is smart in not setting kolb up to be the next David Carr/Joey Harrington from the punishment he would take trying to pocket pass behind that shitty o-line of theirs.

Best case scenario for eagles: Vick does well. Commands retarded money from bad teams while Kolb skips a year of punishment while his O-line rehabs
Worst case scenario for eagles: Vick gets plays crappily gets injured thus making his stock fall. Kolb goes in anyway gets destroyed. Skins win superbowl. effigy’s of Andy Reid are burned in the streets.

I would give up a first born to see that worst case scenario come true lol

Falcons don’t have a SB win either.

Of all the sports teams I follow, I bleed Chargers blue the most. Talk about feeling low 10 yrs ago, the last couple years have really hurt. I’ve been to every Raiders AT Chargers games the last 10 yrs, will be 11 soon.

This is bull shit. I been a member of the philadelphiaeagles.com forums for about 4-5 years.

There is plenty of Mcchoke haters.

forgenjuro: Eagles got it way worst than the Sehawks and the Bills blow both of them out of the water.

Eagles went to four straight NFC championship game and only won 1. Then blew it in the Super Bowl. Bills went to four straight Superbowls and blew all of them.

Not to mention that Eagles team that lost the Super Bowl was stacked beyond stack! Their entire defense made the Pro Bowl. 3 out of their four secondary core made the pro bowl team (Sheldon Brown got left out). They had Trotter in the middle and Kearse in the trenches. Pro Bowl DE, MLB, CB, SS, FS. They had Mcnabb, Westbrook and Owens on offense. That was a travesty they lost that game.

but the Bucs DO!!!

The Bills going to 4 straight SB’s and losing them all actually made them more liked. I mean, after that, short of facing your team in the SB, would you really want them to lose? You really can’t hate them on that, and it usually isn’t called out because we already just know.

I still think the Eagles might’ve been screwed out of the SB. Only SB the Patriots had business winning (on paper at least) was 38.

Regardless, the Eagles just backed themselves into a massive corner. Eagles have to at least win the division (which suddenly seems a lot more possible with Dallas finding new ways to be terrible, the Giants usual inconsistency, and Philly’s usually good in emotion games which Washington would be) or it gets ugly.

Glad to see Vick getting the nod. Yeah, he’s no saint (no pun intended) but I always wanted to see how good he could really be. I’m guessing we never will, but maybe taking 2 years off will have helped his body stay fresh while he had time to contemplate how to be a good QB (and more importantly a law-abiding citizen).

Buffalo fans seemed to be under the impression that America hated them. I know they won the sympathy vote from many, especially come the 4th time around and against the much-hated Cowboys, but their fans were pretty much on the defensive. I suppose media guys were saying things like how Buffalo didn’t have the “intangibles” to win it all, thus if they made it to the SB they were going to get beaten again. So it wasn’t uncommon to see a sign like “Deal With It” in the stands when Buffalo made it to the SB for the 4th time.

I’m not sure what to say about the Pats. They aren’t the only team to win 3 out 4 years, but they sure had a knack for coming through in all those close games, getting enough breaks (coughtuckrulecough) while not being boneheaded themselves. Martz was too stupid to run the ball with MARSHALL FREAKIN’ FAULK in his prime, the Panthers left points off the board by going for 2 early and often and not converting while their kicker promptly kicked one out of bounds before the final drive, and Donovan McNabb could barely handle the anxiety and mismanaged the clock. It’s obviously hard to win 3 championships in 4 years, but to win all those games by a field goal takes a lot of strange occurrences. Guess it was appropriate the one Belichick/Brady loss also came by 3 points.

Well it worked for Ricky Williams. It’s well noted that even though he was getting up there in years for a RB (I think he was…31 when he came back?), taking those couple of years off actually lengthened his lifespan a couple of years as he came back with fresh legs and good health, so while he came back in his thirties, he had the body of a mid-20s back. I would say the same applies to Vick, especially since he was just playing a bit role last year. Getting all the experience being under Donovan, getting groomed by Reid to actually be a pocket passer, and coming in at times in games to get back to shape and game speed accelerated his comeback dramatically, to which not only is he back to the QB he was pre-incarceration, but he’s actually BETTER than he was.

Within a couple of years, hell with the way things are going maybe even this year, don’t be surprised if Vick surpasses McNabb (though I wouldn’t go that far just because Donovan’s in a new system for the first time since he was drafted, so obviously it will take some time with him).

McNabb is up for trade in League 1
