I agree with ckrazy; the Packers are really a #1 seed that happened to get destroyed by injuries and some unlucky bounces early in the season. I knew they were good, but didn’t know they were this good, and certainly didn’t anticipate a blowout tonight (I thought they’d win, but not by 4 TDs). As long as Aaron Rodgers is healthy and his receivers learn how to hold onto perfect passes (Jennings drop at DET, Jones drop at PHI), we can put up 40+ points on anyone.

Weren’t the Packers the Preseason favorites to win the NFC? I recall all throughout analysts talking about how their offense was unstoppable and yadda yadda than injuries happened. Not surprised at all at the decimating teams.
All I know is that the Fox cameras showed a lot of empty red seats near the beginning-mid of the 3rd quarter (like, 6-8 minutes left I think). At that point, the Falcons were down by 3 TDs, so I can sorta understand, but this is your home team (Project 115 my fucking ass) playing to get into the NFC Championship game against a team that just got done playing a grueling road game at PHI a mere 6 days prior. 3 TD lead isn’t insurmountable with that much time left in the game. Unfortunately, playoffs bring out a lot of fairweather fans.
Like I posted a few days ago, the Falcons #1 DB = the Packers #4 WR (after tonight, I think it’s actually our #5 WR). You know your secondary sucks when you have Jennings fumbling a huge passing play, neither Driver nor Jennings catching a TD, yet Rodgers still throws for 3 TDs. Deep routes, crossing routes, it didn’t matter because the Falcons couldn’t defend shit. Also, Rodgers made the Falcons defensive line look straight up lost out there, absolutely no contain and they allowed him to clown them even more by scoring a rushing TD from 8 yards out. Lol at John Abraham mocking Rodgers’ championship belt celebration, I think he just got Rodgers even more pissed after he did that.
Basically, the Packers exposed the Falcons tonight. We exposed every flaw the Falcons have; shitty pass defense, an offense that are 100% frontrunners with absolutely no ability to threaten a big play down the field, an inconsistent receiving corp that disappears for long stretches of games, and a QB that does not have what it takes in the playoffs (I’d respect Matt Ryan if he played great and Special Teams/Defense lost it for him, but he’s played individually like dogshit).
EDIT: Ridian, lots of “experts” picked them to reach/win the Super Bowl.
If the Packers don’t absolutely dominate whoever they play next week, I will be surprised. Running game? Who needs a fucking running game? Just snap the ball to Rodgers and let him zing it to whoever he wants. He looks like a real life version of Tecmo Joe Montana.
The Bears defense has played Rodgers & Co. really tough this season (both games were down to the wire w/ Rodgers putting up pedestrian Matt Ryan-esque type numbers). I really don’t want to see the Bears. I’d rather take the bipolar Seahawks on than the consistent defense of the Bears. Although, with Cutler under center, anything can happen (4 TDs or 4 INTs, you never know).
EDIT: All I know is that when we get Finley and Grant back, our offense will be literally unstoppable.
this is exactly WHY i would rather p[lay the bears than the bipolar hawks, atleast with cutler, we know what we are getting, lol. when you dont know what to expect, its that much scarier. i would rather face a cutler who can potentially hand us the ball 4 times and a inconsistent running game, than the possible hawks we can get that blew the saints the fuck up.
I’m really hoping that the Seahawks beat the Bears, then come back down to Earth and play like the 7-9 team that limped into the playoffs.
I’m a saints fan, but I knew from go that the Pack would beat the Falcons. They have a beastly defense…and if the saints didn’t play like shit against the seahawks, I think it would be the Saints and the Packers for the NFC title, Cause to be honest, the Falcons all year they haven’t dominated, but they were good. they were on the cusp. So hey. if theres no lock out next year, we will see if the Falcons are the real deal or not.
After recovering from a nights worth of drinking, all I can say is. Hell mutha-fucking Yeah, the Packers are up and running, and they have basically feasted on two birds already, and potentially facing the Seahawks in the NFC for the completion of the bird circle??? :looney:
My goodness Williams is my new Hero for the G-Men, the dude is 100% legit. 3 Ints in the Playoffs now, 3!! With 7 Int’s in the reg. season however no trip to Hawaii is complete nonsense. Our secondary is unbelievable (Get Nnamdi Thompson! Then get a damn Special Teams player in the draft! and we will be legit for a long time to come) and our defense is phenomenal. Okay, so they finally allowed the Falcons to score on garbage time, however, I never, ever believed it was going to be like what we saw yesterday night.
Aaron Rodgers summoned the spirit of “Tomo Ohira” and just completely outzoned, out positioned and out footsied the entire Falcons Defense. The guy is absolutely amazing (btw, random note, but saw him at the bars prior to the final season game w/ the Bears and I did the Championship belt to him, and he then gave me a high five afterward saying “Oh its on!”, which I thought was pretty neat, yes lol, my fan moment with Rodgers). To all the people who didn’t vote #12 to the Pro-Bowl, shame on you.
The run game is pretty legit here folks, because before he came along when we needed to run to kill the clock. We absolutely could not do it, and that proved nearly costly in a few games. However Starks was consistent enough to keep the ball in our Offenses hands.
The Punter never having to do his job once because we basically scored on every single drive. Mc Carthy actually making near perfect calls and nothing that was entirely foolish (dumb shit like hand the ball to Kuhn 2 or 3 times in a roll was wtf a few games ago during the reg. season) Wow.
I will admit right now that I was not a believer to all of the analyst/band wagoners prior to the beginning of the Season saying “Packers were Super Bowl Bound, they are the best from the NFC”, because although they came close to beating the Cards, under Rodgers they hadn’t won a single Playoff game yet.
Now back in 1996 when they stated “It’s going to be Green Bay”, you really believed it. Simply because the season prior too, they went all the way to the NFC Championship, and were literally poised on the verge of going to the big one. Thank Goodness, up until now the G-men are proving me wrong!
100% agree on that I would rather face the Seahawks, then the Bears, simply because Divisional games between these two in the past years have been very close and down to the wire regardless of each others win/loss records. The Bears Defense is no joke, and they find ways to cause significant problems for the Packers due to their D-Line (Peppers), and Urlachers tenacity and leadership. Still, if the “Bad” Cutler shows up, then I say Packers will take it, however regardless I feel the Packers overall are the favorites on all sides besides Special Teams.
All in all, now that they have trumped the Falcons, and are the sexiest NFL team in the playoffs, I’m liking there odds. Maybe I won’t have to wait 29 years after all before we go to the Super Bowl. If it comes down to a Packers vs Bears NFC Championship game, your’re literally going to need the National Guard to do a blockade between Wisconsin and Illionois, because both sides will be ready to take arms.

Those defenders choked! They only stoped the packers twice from scoring in the whole fucking game! I think they punted 1 in a playoff game. Everytime they got the ball they fucking scored a TD in the 1st 3 qtr’s. You can’t win if your defense can’t stop anyone or tackle anyone. The falcons got no pressure on the QB and when they did Arron just escape the rush and either ran for the 1st down or threw for the 1st down.:shake:
IMO this season was an eye opener. We aren’t close to being a superbowl contender yet. I also know that our defense is very weak in passing defense. We need That corner from the raiders BADLY! Daunte Robinson was utter TRASH this year. He had only 1 good play this season (The hit on desean jackson) and he was fined and suspended a game for that play.
We also need to get a big HOG on the defensive line! Every great defense has that type of space eatter on the D-line to take up 2 offensive linemen. We need to get pressure on the QB and John Abraham is getting old. The falcons should draft nothing but defense in the draft. That and offensive linemen that can PASS PROTECT! Matt had defenders on him all freaking night.
Great gameplan by the packers imo. Stop Turner and make matt ryan beat them. IMO it worked because the defense was so shitty it didn’t matter who was the qb for the falcons last night. If the packer score every time they get the ball then you could have had joe montana back there and you still would have lost with that defense!:mad:
P.S.-Arron Rogers is a fucking BEAST! I think he was playing with a chip on his shoulder since they put Matt Ryan in the probowl over him! He might not have to worry about the probowl if he is in the superbowl! I hope Matt can turn into Arron Rogers in the years to come. It don’t matter who you got back there if you can’t get any pressure on the QB. The problem is the Falcons for the past 2 years have drafted DT’s but they have been light and quick DT’s. They need to get a nagta type! That big HOG in the middle that will open rushing lanes for the LB’s to get to the QB. So please Mr. Blank go start your recruitment of Nnamdi right now and tell the GM to draft a hog d-linemen in the 1st round if a good 1 is avalible.
Great game for the packers. Was worried after the falcons ran back the kick off. I called that pick 6 before the half. I was watching the game with my brothers and was like check it out, they’re gonna run a quick sideline pass to get a few more yards but they’re gonna fuck it up somehow. what do you know happens next? Pick 6 and gone baby. Also seeing BJ Raji as a lead blocker at the goal line is good shit.
And that secondary. #21 got absolutely raped. It will come around, but having such a GREAT regular season get drowned out by that game yesterday HURTS. :sad:
