The real question going into this season: How long until Westbrook (with help from the BGC) gets on KD’s last nerve and pulls a LeBron next off-season?
*BGC=Based God Curse
IMO: The Bulls trading for Love is a bad idea, seeing that he would be the only guy that can get them buckets (he and Kirk). I can’t count Rose due to his legs having a nasty habit of getting jacked up at the worst possible time over the past couple of years. A 3-team trade to the Cavs looks like the best thing for the White KG.
Bulls still have Doug McDermott, Pau Gasol, and Miotic who can all shoot and have length. And that’s ignoring the addition of Kirk who can also shoot.
I get the Rose has been injured thing but the dude has been extra careful and took a extra year off to rest his body. Rose has rehab’d the right way and it looks like he’ll be fine.
Trading Taj and adding Love would mean the Bulls are eastern conference champs. The combination of tough defense and inside scoring with Rose controlling the offense would be a brutal match up for anyone in the East.
Bulls have scorers and most of them are 6 foot 10.
Monta isn’t an ideal fit at PG, but under Carlisle it can work. He played PG most of his character in GS and averaged like 6 assists on garbage teams w/ lackluster coaching.
The only problem I have with that is that Gasol is somewhat injury prone and isn’t as productive on offense like he was a couple of years ago while McDermott and Miotic haven’t had the chance to prove themselves on an NBA level in terms of scoring. Take Rose out of the equation, the only consistent scorers the Bulls would have are Love and Hinrich. And by trading Taj, and Jimmy, who is blossoming as a threat on both sides of the floor, I’m not sure if trading for Love would be the best idea. Now, if the Bulls were to wait, and Rose does become healthy, they could clear some cap room and make a push for Love when he becomes a free agent, granted that he doesn’t go to Cleveland first… With those pieces (Pau & full meter Rose) and a proven McDermott and Miotic, getting Love would make them a threat for the title, no doubt.
Figured Roy’s was harder from how hard he cut to the inbounder and had to turn, wasn’t an easy all the time in the word to face and square his shoulders like Lillard got. Granted it looks hard there.
And Barkley and the crew were all over Houston, you can’t let the guy face and turn. Or even catch the ball or something.
Monta never played pg in GS. Ever. Baron Davis had the position when Monta got drafted then Steph Curry took over from there. There’s no point trying to convert him now when they have three pgs on the roster to use.
Parsons is 6’10". Teams don’t let size like that go to waste as a sg.
Aminu is not good enough to be a starter in this league. Solid rebounder, but that’s it. They can live without him thanks to Tyson.
Magic was 6’8 wasn’t he? I don’t see why Parsons cant play sg if he’s good at it and he seems to be.
Taj isn’t blossoming imo he is only maximizing his potential. Love has a much higher ceiling/potential and learning from a defensive specialist like Thibs would make him a BEAST. Butler is alright but not the final solution for the Bulls to take it to the next level.
Pau Gasol won’t be as needed to constantly be on the floor with Love there and vice versa which will help both guys durability because Love played alot of minutes in Minnesota.
McDermott is getting stellar reports playing against NBA players in summer league and has put up over 30 points in some games without having to take even 20 shots. He shoots really effectively so far and I don’t see why will change. Miotic is 6’10, can shot threes, and has Gasol there who is also from Spain to mentor him. When your 6’10 and can shoot from anywhere he doesn’t have to adjust that hard.
Waiting for Love and getting him in the next offseason is always an option but its also very risky. You never know how a guy will react to being courted by so many teams. Also I’d rather not even give Cleveland a shot at him like they’d have during that same offseason.
Yeah that one. The one where the 3 point line is the same distance.
The fact that he putting up 30 when he’s brought in as a role player meant to get like 10 or so still gets rid of these bogus claims that the Bulls will still have no one who can score next season.
They did a great job this offseason of bringing in guys who can score while not losing our core defense so far. Adding Love would put us over the top and clear faves.
I wasn’t talking about Taj blossoming, I was referring to Jimmy Butler becoming a threat on both sides of the court…
AND
I wouldn’t totally count on Summer League as an accurate prognosis for a rookie. Sure, McDermott might be the bomb in SL, but come time for the regular season, you may have a tragedy on your hands when above average to elite NBA players start checking him… You never know.
You put them back to back as if they were both what you meant. Either way, everybody likes Jimmy but if he can buy me Love he’s gotta get the fuck up outta here.
