The Official NBA 2014-2015 Thread: Simp City

Phil will definitely stay in nY for five years and probably longer. He’s already started turning around the Knicks. We’ll see what happens going forward but as long as Dolan isn’t controlling shit I have optimism.

The east is less top heavy which is great. We’ll see what happens.

The heat will/should still make the playoffs. But they’re not getting a ring with that squad.

is anyone besides cleveland a threat for finals in the east

Chicago if Rose if healthy. If not, I think Cleveland has a red carpet to the Finals.

Just the Bulls and the Heat perhaps.

He wouldn’t marry Jeannie, well didn’t put a ring on it…so that was the initial issue. At this point htough, I think Phil is happy. I odn’t see him leaving unless his health really deteriorates, in which case I actually could see Fisher moving to a GM - I think he’s more suited there anyways. The black Danny Ainge…

Sure, making the finals in the east, there are a plethora of teams who can realistically do it, especially once you factor in ‘match-ups’. No one from the EC will WIN the finals though.

CLE, CHI, WSH, TOR*, CHA, MIA could ALL make it with Detroit having the potential to ruin someone’s day. TOR gets a star, because I’m not sure if they will maintain what they did last year. CHA got better in the right places…they STILL need better shooting, but not enough cna be said about getting Lance…their energy will be pretty damn high. WSH after thinking on it more, I’m turning around on the Paul Pierce thing a bit, he’s a good ‘stop gap’ for Webster and Porter to develop and will also school not just them, but the organization on what it takes to WIN. MIA on the quiet has re-assembled the cast in short order while adding some quality pieces and setting up Cole to be trade bait to a team like IND.

The east is OPEN.

I just realized Phil Jackson and Pat Riley are at another rivalry in their careers

What were the Heat doing in the 90s? You mean besides going to the ECF twice and having a #1 or #2 seed four times?

This is exactly why I hate the Knicks so much. Mofos keep acting like they’ve done shit when they haven’t.

Congrats, you made it to the Finals twice in the 90s… and lost both times. That’s the highlight of the Knicks for the past 40 years.

Nigga you’re delusional. Happy over regular season wins? That’s why your team is synonymous with failure and always will be.

Knicks fans still salty about Riley leaving. I see it all the time in comments on sports sites. Now you’re happy and praying Phil has the same kind of success that Riley has had. What a joke.

Not acting like we did shit, which we did. Acting like we are tired of taking shit from ppl that act like they didn’t watch basketball until bron put on a heat jersey.

Or until kg put on a celtics jersey.

The problem is I know about Knicks history, so your faux confidence doesn’t work on me. I know how you really feel and how depressed you motherfuckers get about losing all the time.

And as for the Heat being stuck in mediocrity for decades… nigga pls. Riley is handing out 2-year contracts only right now, except Bosh. His sights are locked on having max cap space to go after Durant and others in 2016. We’re not the Cavs and we’re not the Knicks. You better wake up and realize what a team with great management looks like.

Lmao. Son. Those two year contracts are so that those players can resign for more money once the tv deal goes into affect.

And you act like we don’t have phil. Our time will come.

Riley is not obligated to resign any of the current Heat roster, so the TV deal has zero impact on what he’s doing. His focus is building another championship contender, which is what he said on Saturday.

The difference between Phil and Riley is that Phil is a rookie at team management. Riley has been doing this since 95. Riley built a contender in the 90s, a champion in the 2000s, and 2x champions in the 2010s. Phil hasn’t done anything except resign Carmelo.

Phil was busy winning championships as a coach during those times. Phil Jackson’s NBA resume absolutely dwarfs Pat Rileys.

Pat Riley has 9 combined championships as a player, coach and executive.

Fuck outta here with that dumb shit, you moron.

Phil has 13.

debs…why are you bringing common sense into this thread, dont waste your time, its full of knicks haters or lebron/heat fan boys…clearly…lol.

http://www.nba.com/india/phil_jackson_vs_pat_riley___2014_03_24.html

And he hasn’t even started this “GM” thing yet.

They’re both 69 years old…not sure how old guys can be doing this job, but I can’t imagine that Phil has that long of a run in NY, right? 4-5 years tops?

I know what Phil has. The point was he said Phil’s resume “dwarfs” Riley’s, which is just more exaggerated bullshit. Phil has 0 clout as an executive, so calm that noise down.

And we all know the truth and irony of the situation. Knicks fans are praying Phil is “the next Pat Riley” as far as executives go.

Ya’ll are lame and predictable.
