Bosh isn’t a #1 guy and Miami’s severely overpaying for him. He wasn’t a #1 guy when he averaged 20-10 in Toronto and especially not now that he’s entering his 30s and has admitted that “CB4” is dead. CB4 being when he was 250lbs, aggressively attacked the basket on every possession, defended the opposing team’s best big, and got to the line 8+ times a game instead of settling for jump shots like he did in Miami.
No one, they build a better bench and get in line with the Knicks and other teams in waiting for the next big Free Agent period. They got rid of some insane contracts and are in a really really great position right now.
*I agree that what Lebron will bring is exactly what the Cavs need, but that’s going to happen over time imo. They’ll see payoffs immediately but not enough for me to pencil them in for the finals. They have the potential to be a great team in 3-4 seasons. Lebron will be at the tail end of his peak but Kyrie and Wiggins will possibly hitting their strides along with any other young pieces that grow during the next 2 seasons. Oh yeah, and they’ll have cap space to sign pieces and have draft picks to trade away for players. That’s a better “rebuilding” any team could dream about.
As for the Hawks, Bobcats and Raptors… I would have called them fodder but I went with a backhanded compliment instead.
Brooklyn has become the new Knicks. Bad contracts, mismanagement from the top, trading their future for an opportunity to “win now” and having players that never came close to living up to expectations. Deron Williams carer arc is becoming sad. *
That’s one of the first things I thought too. 4yrs/27mil is a bit much for a guy coming off the bench - especially when he’s used to starting.
As for Houston, I think they’re best bet is to match Parsons and go after Gasol or Monroe. I’d prioritize Gasol as he has that valuable post passing ability.
And yet people criticize the Sixers. I love what we’re doing. Cleared the books and restocking w/ fresh, young talent that can grow together. Even though I really like the dude, Thaddeus Young is probably being traded by the next trade deadline. There’s definitely plenty of teams that could use him right now, but his stock it a bit too low at the moment - which is why he wasn’t traded during the draft.
Bosh no. He was playing with Bargnani. Anyone would have left that situation and no Raptors fans were mad over it. T-Mac yes however. VC + a prime T-Mac who played like he did on Orlando would’ve been something else.
