Deng was inconsistent as hell and he could never put his game all the way together and figure out who he was, generic overpriced Slasher through and though. Deng would be good then terrible. Him working hard and his on ball defense was his only redeeming qualities and personally I’ve felt Chicago always put too much faith in him. Then signs with the Cavs I think? Fuck em.

He was always meant to be a bench scorer with good defense imo, I’ve had this argument with bulls fans before so I’m surprised you guys disagree.

I thought you were the only one enjoying this free agent shit after McRib and Granger signed with the Heat? You can’t tell me your buying into any of this hype garbage?

I can’t wait until these assholes pick a team so the others are forced to choose teams so we can all move the fuck on. Free agency isn’t supposed to feel like a staring contest with everyone sitting around waiting for the other to blink. This shit is ass.

I haven’t been hype for free agency since probably last Wednesday when the rumors started getting crazy.

I was expecting the Big 3 to re-sign for less and we bulk up the team with the remaining money. Instead its turned into a drawn out soap opera with bullshit rumors daily. And the Big 3 are screwing themselves. LeBron can’t have it both ways: you can’t say the team needs to improve at every position, and then ask for max. Bosh can’t claim he wants to retire here, and then ask for more money.

They need to sign and shut people up already.

The signings yesterday were iffy, because Spoelstra rarely utilizes a players full talents if he’s not Big 3. Granger is probably just a spot up shooter at this point. After what Spo did to Mike Miller, I learned to lower expectations for what to expect from new additions.

I’m completely fine with free agency taking this long the only thing that would disappointment me is, if it ended without a Micky Arison or Dan Gilbert letter in Comic Sans.

I agree with Geo. All this drama and rumors are starting to get out of control. It shouldn’t be “breaking news” when lebron goes to talk to an owner. We all know he’s testing the market so make your “breaking news” count.

At this point, the way BS has been flung around, I’m pretty hesitant to believe the reports that have come out about Bron wanting the max. The Bosh rumors are even more suspect since the contract figures have been all over the place. While it’s not entirely far-fetched for LeBron to want a max deal, it does seem a little out of character for him to put Riles in that position. Also, didn’t these max deal rumors start popping up when, like you mentioned earlier, he was overseas with his fam? I guess we’ll know the truth once the contracts get signed.

I’m still high on the JMR deal, I think he can flourish in Spo’s system. I’m not expecting much from Granger, but we’re not paying him a whole lot either.

I didn’t start watching Bulls until Thibs came to Chicago. Not because of him or the success of the Bulls, but that’s when I moved near Chicago and have friends who are fans. Anyways, Deng may have been inconsistent before Thibs’ system. But since then, he’s been a much better player IMO. You can knock on his inconsistency all you want(I don’t see it, but whatever), but Bulls wouldn’t be as successful without him. Aside from the up and coming Jimmy Butler, there isn’t a solid player as reliable as Deng on the Bulls. Noah plays amazing D, but gets points because of hustle more than making plays. Boozer is over rated, undersized, can’t dunk, and is a liability on defense. Rose isn’t even on the court. Deng was the best all-around player on the Bulls and I think they’re worse without him. Hell, I’d rather take Deng over a questionable Melo for that system.

It is easy to forget Deng was having his best statistical season ever before he got traded and was putting up some pretty stupid numbers.

i hope the 76ers are dumb enough to take amare and his shitty ass contract off our hands, please god get him out of new york.

Once something happens with a big name, then everything is start falling like dominoes. So yeah, it’s dragging, but things could explode real quickly once a decision is made.

Bron still negotiating that TV announcement deal that’s why nothing has happened yet.

Remember when the hype was on Kevin Love getting traded? What happened to that?

That Gordon Hayward offer sheet is outrageous, I understand he’s a restricted free agent but damn.

I don’t have the time today to go back and forth, but they almost let Thibs walk this season. Carmelo is most likely the main reason Thibs is still employed. Don’t forget Thibs almost left on his own will as well after they fired his assistant.

I’m also not comparing my athleticism to Rose’s, I’m merely stating the difficulty in missing so MUCH time. When you’ve got a bum leg, you can’t even practice shooting as you develop bad habits. He just went almost two whole years without being able to get better, without being able to physically improve himself, two years of league play changing and evolving, no amount of gym workout sans legs is going to come close to an NBA game, and ask any NBA player, no levels of scrimmages/practice are going to match the sheer intensity and physical effort exerted in an NBA GAME. I don’t care that he’s playing with Team USA and gettng ‘positive reviews’. Neither amounts to anything - playing with Team USA will trim any fat that’s grown, but he’s going to be HEAVING on the court when he comes back…nothing wrong with it, just is what it is. And ‘positive reviews’? When a former “MVP” hasn’t played in two years due to leg issues, if he can dunk, he’s going to get ‘positive reviews’. It’s all worthless conversation. Even if he looked OK, its NOT under the rigorous conditions of an NBA game.

I’m also not saying Rose won’t come back to form either. What I’m saying is he is still somewhat of a question mark and not a homerun. Would I have rather had him than Raymond Felton - sure. The way he played this year, I’d rather have Yinka Dare running the point. But my overall point was that the Chicago Roster is just as much a question mark as NYK. Somehow Phil has already improved the point and is working on dumping Amare, its a roster in transition, while Chicago is a roster that looks somewhat set and is still devoid a solid bench, while getting thinner at other positions, and with increased tread on their tires. Is it bad, hell no, they are still a good team, but I just can’t sit here and say “it’s a homerun”, its very easy to look back a year and some change from now and say 'Damn Phill put together a better roster than Chicago already"

Yeah I don’t know if Hayward is worth 63 million. His numbers (16, 5 and 5) aren’t bad, but that’s still high. His stats are probably a bit inflated being on a bad team

Utah is probably going to match.

goes back to watching the Chris Broussard marathon on ESPN

If anything, I’d say his numbers would’ve been better if the team around him was a bit more up to snuff. Hayward can ball. Throw him in the mix with Kemba and that backcourt is formidable. Don’t have a problem with the offer sheet - you’ll usually have to overspend to get RFAs anyway, at least offered it to a dude that can live up to it.

Knicks have nothing to offer us to take on that abomination of a contract. We’ve got cap room for days, but not going to throw it away. Throwing in Shumpert would be a good start, since it’d give us someone to deal for more assets around the trade deadline arms race, but still not enough.

Chess pieces being moved

The Cleveland Cavaliers will trade Jarrett Jack to the Brooklyn Nets on Thursday as part of a three-team deal with Boston to create more salary-cap space for the pursuit of LeBron James, according to sources close to the process.

Sources told ESPN.com that the Nets have agreed to take on the contracts of Jack and youngster Sergey Karasev from the Cavaliers in a swap that also will see the Celtics acquire Brooklyn’s Marcus Thornton, Cleveland’s Tyler Zeller and a future first-round pick from the Cavaliers.

Cleveland will have to acquire at least one future second-rounder from either Brooklyn or Boston to complete the transaction, but the moves will give the Cavaliers significant financial flexibility, shedding Jack, Zeller and Karasev from their roster.

Danny Ainge only did this trade to get the Picks and say Fuck You to Pat Riley.

And the reason Hayward got max it’s so it forces Utah to match the offer and pay him max, win win for Hayward lul.
