The Official Mass Effect 3 Thread: True Ending only 1600 MS Points

I didn’t it isn’t even close.

He didn’t, don’t worry. Also, why are you in this thread? This thread is a land mine if you haven’t beat the game yet!

I know it is but alas that is what the ending is. [spoiler=] They wanted to go with the Sopranoes style ending basically and they cut alot of it due to supposed time restraints. So you got a half assed ending but that is the ending. There is no indoctrination no fancy consipracies, none of that. Just a really really bad ending[/details]

Because I was in here before, and partly try to figure out how many people here are PS3 users so I can see how many of us are playing the online.

GGs to Dios X on MP, that Salarian INF is the best class in MP easily man.

I beat it yesterday and thanks to the ending and the weakening of your choices I prefer Mass Effect 2. The entire last fight against the collectors that could spell life or death for your entire crew meant a lot more than how ME3 wrapped it up. Not to mention Bioware relied on the “survival” battles WAY too much.

In fact, after all the great DLC that ME2 offered I expected a lot more gameplay wise. We had hover tanks, flying through a city, dealing with changing cover on a ship in the middle of a gas giant’s storm, making huge sacrifices, playing spy with a thief, solo stealth, etc in ME2’s DLC. I mean we had TWO great boss battles in Shadow Broker! Two!!!

Not to mention that they made heavy weapons a pick up at designated points in the game. I think it would have been better if a heavy weapon takes away two potential weapon slots with a serious weight penalty attached than just leave them lying around on the battlefield. In multiplayer we get to carry a rocket launcher around and that makes more sense than just finding it conveniently placed on the battlefield.

I’m also a bit disappointed with the enemy variety. The Reapers are turning almost every species (I doubt the hanaar are all that useful) into horribly mutated killing machines but there are a few species that get no mutation love.

More Enemies!

[details=Spoiler] Vorcha are hedious and I can picture them being a faster version of husks. Elcor mention that they go into battle as walking tanks so what if the Elcor was used as the walking tank instead of the Rachni which should be about overwhelming numbers than standing way back and firing on you. Also where are all the doggies at? Why isn’t there at least one Yahg running loose?

Also I think that the Cerberus troops should have been designed more like how the organization really works (or did work in the last two games). As powerful as Cerberus might be it can have that many resources at it’s disposal. I found the Citadel take over to be highly unlikely but N7 missions make a lot more sense. They are so forward in their attacks however that they fight more like a big army than as an organization built on black ops.
[/details]

Even though I have quite a few complaints I still enjoyed the experience and the combat system is sooooo good now that it will be hard to return to ME1 for my Renegade run.

N7 challenge weekend!

I’m loving Salarian Engineer. I beat Gold surprisingly easy against the Geth (haha the easiest one usually unless you get locked down) just using decoys and powers while my allies died from an influx of pyros, primes, and hunters on the last wave. I just put one down and ran around until I went to the circle the last 5 seconds. I haven’t beaten the reapers on gold yet, even though the decoy actually distracts banshees and brutes but the problem is I also need teammates alive to help me dps them down or else they eventually go for me because decoy can’t take all the aggro.

edit: Well since the challenge is killing brutes, that means everyone probably is gonna run around with snipers and infils since they can do basically half life on a brute on silver.

Challenge is too easy. They need a harder difficulty.

I laughed pretty good seeing that.

Endgame

Spoiler

boy i felt sorry for the people at the citadel. They got fuuuuuucked.

This made me laugh so hard… then it made me cry… qft

Lol that is so true but it’s not even mentioned. Imagine if they showed what happened when they arrived to take the Citadel. Would have been terrifying to see.

Game had at least another hour left to do the ending proper but alas.

So, I just beat it and got what I THINK is the best ending. Though random question.

Spoiler

Are the 2 Squadmates you took down to Earth like…dead or something? Because I took Garrus/Ashley with me down to Earth, and I swear I saw her walk out of the Normandy after Joker/EDI when it crashed.

Yeah about that. I think thats why people are saying this ending is rushed and didn’t make sense.

Spoiler

In the original leaked ending, Joker picks you up and you all end up crash landing on that planet. For some dumb reason Bioware changed all that and somehow Joker is in the Mass Relay for no reason

Yeah, but… [details=Spoiler] In the original script, didn’t people have a LOT of complaints about “too many deaths” and wasn’t there a Vrmire-like situation between Liara/Ashley or Kaidan, and Garrus/Tali? And wasn’t there something about the Reapers motive involving Dark Energy? [/details]

Finished the single player finally. I expected the ending to be bad after reading these posts so I can’t say I was too disappointed lol.

Spoiler

That part made no sense because the same thing happened to me but with Liara.

^I think what happens is…
why the ending is wonky

[details=Spoiler] I think that during your chat with the illusive man your two squad mates are found alive and are taken back to the Normandy. After you make your ending choice is where it just doesn’t make any sense. As fast as the Normandy may be it still won’t fly through the solar system fast enough to outrun the effect of the Crucible while still hopping in the Mass Effect relay. The Normandy would have to already be in Mass Effect flight before the crucible goes off.

Regardless it’s a stupid ending sequence. [/details]

Spoiler

yeah, it really sucks that the Bailey, the Council, Aria, and Aethyta all had gruesome endings. Like, they didn’t even have a chance :shake:
