I played at Avion a bunch today. I did ok for a bit but everyone there is way too good and I couldn’t win.
The big arcade near the osaka theatre in namba has 2 setups (4 cabs) 100 yen 2 plays 2/3 rounds. There were some really good players there too, but the line was way too long.

lol so a friend of mine asked me about my current guild “Gaijin May Cry”(I said current because I might switch to a closer guild, everyone in GMC is in kansai iirc, no? lol but then again, ive never really took the guild thing seriously), askin that “whoever created the guild/came up with that name, what was on his mind?” lol… something about the name seems like bad taste/might be offensive to some people kinda thing…
i just responded with, " i dont know, ive no problem with that name… some people might find it funny even"

SSFIV arcade was fun for the first weekend. Played about 60 something games, won 40 something of them and lost the other 20 something. Biggest streak was like 20 wins. fun times. My name on AE is ElvnShadow (damn 10 character limit). I might join that guild when I get back. Im leaving Japan to go back to Chicago tomorrow for 3 weeks. peace out

I’m wondering if the regulars on here can give me some advice about looking for work in Japan.
I got a BA in Japanese, did 1 year on JET as a CIR (almost all translation work), and now am finishing up my MA in Communication in Canada (My thesis is about Japan though).
I don’t have any JLPT certification, but I have been keeping up with practicing my Japanese. I translated Front Mission 2 and Front Mission 5 into English almost by myself, so along with my CIR work I have a fair amount of translation experience. That being said, I don’t think I’m up to JLPT1 level quite yet.
My gf has to go back to Japan for a couple years to finish her BA, and I’m looking to get some work for that period while I wait for her to graduate. If I could get something that pays alright (as in I will do better than breaking even) and is located around Fukuoka that’d be great. Can anyone on here make some recommendations on what sort of work I might be able to find?

My PSP’s buttons are jammed and it won’t let me load anything. I need to get it fixed since I dont have a screwdriver small enough to open it up and I wouldnt know what to do if I had one.
Does anyone know any place I could take my PSP so they can get it fixed. Yodabashi camera charges 6,900 yen which aint bad but they cant get it fixed until late January.
Any ideas? I want to play Mo Hu 3.

If you have a fat psp, you have to readjust the button as it is just jammed in there.
if 2000 or 3000, there is a little rubber thing in there i think. that or it is off place of the button release thingy.
so yeah, i received an email from the tenchou-san of shibuya sportsland(R.I.P.)… i asked him earlier whether is the shinjuku main branch is going to have the weekly freeplay thing like back then in shibuya? he said that for now they only have 4 machines aka 2 setups but yesterday some top guy from sega said they are adding 4 more setups, and if thats true, chances for freeplay night to make a comeback is really high.

yes there are many nigerians. i get along with them quite well cause i was out there every night for a few years. they try to get you into their strip clubs. if you just say no, i am hunting free pussy tonight, they will laugh and say good luck (or try to say there girls are really good etc.)
